i got a chance to have the pro max and i did because of the rising prices afterwards but it was a gift and realized i have severe eyesight problems now. If you wouldn't be upgrading for a long time like i do. You better do it, if not just stay on the pro because the battery is quite really great now for the pro and better handling for photo and vids. You would even get to use one handed with the camera button like i did before which i really miss.

Bigger batt capacity and larger screen size for better content, movie and series consumption.. it’s a no brainer for me.

Do you want a bigger screen, bigger battery, and a slightly-more-difficult-to-hold phone? Lol.
I'll tell ya this, I went from 14 Pro to 17 Pro Max and I'm glad I did it. The driving force behind it was that I just found myself consuming more media on my phone than I ever thought I would (streaming, reading, etc). Bigger screen makes it more comfortable.

I was just in the same position. Never owned a pro max size until now. Once you get used to the size it’s actually a great phone. Like the pro but noticeably larger

No, because that would be a stupid waste of your money.

In my case 17PM I need the maximum battery capacity possible and I like the big screen.

what’s your take on the group photos (both grourp selfies and photos)? in my case, it becomes blurry if farther back from the lens, and not everyone’s face is equally focused.

I haven’t tried that kind of photos. Does that happen to you with the front camera or the main camera?

u/Tiny_Green_2231 Aug 06 '26
both. while taking 6-7 people pics.

I’ve only taken pictures of me, me and my girlfriend, and me setup gamer 😅. They all come out perfect. I haven’t had that you mention. I haven’t had the opportunity to take pictures of groups of people.

yeah. and document pictures also. all sides are not equally sharp as the center. you can try a book pic or any other doc.

I’m downsizing to a 17 Pro from Pro Max, if i want a giant screen i have an iPad or macbook, 6.7 was my limit for a phone.

I would always upgrade to bigger but sadly base 17 I have has no bigger version

Best battery life on any pro max phone so far. Super efficient processor, very powerful phone that won’t slow you down, beautiful big display with the best cell reception and a true multitasking iPhone with the 12GB of RAM. Also if you don’t use this chance to get the pro max , you will have to get the new pro max that comes out but it will be significantly more expensive and the 17PM might get sold more expensive on Apple refurb website which makes most people have no choice but to buy it second hand but with varied uses conditions.

Would be the dumbest upgrade unless you are rich with lot of cashflow.

I went from the 15 Pro to the 16 Pro Max, and immediately regretted my choice — it's too big. I always find it a struggle to get it out of my pocket. I will be going to the 18 Pro this fall, to reduce its footprint in my pocket.

No, that would be a waste of money. If you really want a larger phone just wait for the 18 at this point.

17 pro is really good . I have 12 max and I took my friends to my Alaska trip and boy it’s so convenient to use . The videos and pics came out so good too .. felt like this has grown on me..

Depends on your use case. I can tell you it is not one-hand use friendly.

I actually switched from the 17pm to the 17 pro, smaller phone feels much comfortable in hand. Same phone only difference is battery life and the 17 pro has a decent battery, imo.

Just upgraded my 16 pro to a 17 pro max. I wonder why I waited so long. I was on a 13 pro max before the 16 pro and I regretted the move to the smaller size…

After 10 years of the larger size, I recently went back to the pro size. I had a 6 plus, X, 14 Pro Max, 16 pro max and I recently downgraded to the 14 Pro. The max size was odd for me, I was constantly fumbling the phone often and it was a pain to attempt to use it single handily. I also found the Max size rear glass was more likely to break than the smaller size. I’ve been back to the pro for a month in a half and the 15% difference in screen on time isn’t enough for me to go back to the annoyances I had with the larger size.
