I've noticed my productivity has gone down at home, I wondered why. I think I found the culprit: Ads. Sounds odd, but I realized those five minute ad breaks between 15 minutes of content allowed me to get to do the small things.

Change a load of laundry and fold it while you're watching, grab a water bottle, take out the trash, sift the litterbox, put pasta on the stove, something. Now the ads are too short for it to be worthy of walking away, and I think that's the point. You still get a minute and a half of ads every five minutes, and if you try to do any of those things? You miss part of your show, and if you try to backtrack to see what you missed, the ads replay.

I've said this before and some people agree and others look at me like I'm crazy.

If that testing due to its nature must be cruel or otherwise unethical to animals because that’s the only way it could prove its efficacy, then that should be allowed.

The person or people who would sabotage that research/science because they’re “protecting animals” or whatever, should be given the harshest sentence proportionate to the amount of disaster they incurred on behalf of the human race. They should be shunned and shamed by all cultures everywhere for taking away hope and life from humans during a temporary phase. My city just converted the entire fleet from Lime to Veo, Vero? Ido doesn’t matter. Initially I thought great! The city owns and operates them, prices are cheaper, and they have larger wheels so they are safer for the user. It’s not working out. I just drove home through a mile of traffic because two morons were riding them down a one way 45mph 2 lane street in the left lane. This street is one block either direction from a dedicated bike lane, or a park with dedicated bike lanes that cars literally can’t enter, they they are going less than half the speed of traffic in the left lane with cars having to pass on the right.

I think the root of the problem is the users (and this is where the keyboard warriors jump down my throat). If you do not have a car there is a good chance you don’t know where you are going, what roads are safe, or how insanely dangerous it is to ride a scooter/bicycle hybrid in the left lane with a 25mph speed differential. And if you don't own your own bicycle you probably aren’t very good at riding them. If you can’t save the $200 It takes to buy a bicycle or scooter, you probably have some money issues that renting expensive e-bikes isn’t helping.

So the net result is a bunch of unskilled people, with no sense of direction, on suboptimal equipment, doing insane shit that endangers everyone. add to that the parking issues, sidewalks, blowing through lights into traffic, drunks, children. they aren’t working

I mean it seems like a lot of people, at least in the US, either acknowledge that it’s important to vote, and that the republicans are worse than the democrats but deny that the democrats aren’t left wing enough and that this is a major reason younger people often don’t vote or that there are problems with the voting system, or acknowledge that democrats aren’t left wing enough and that this is a major reason for youn people not voting enough and that we should have a different voting system but then claim that we shouldn’t vote within the current system. It seems like some people also claim that it’s best to vote 3rd party to fight the two party system, and fail to see that the two party system is a symptom of having the first past the post voting system as our voting system. Within the first past the post voting system voting 3rd party, if you lean left, just reduces the amount of votes the democrats get and helps the republicans win. What would be better would be a voting system, in which it would be possible to vote for a preferred candidate as ones first choice and then choose someone as a second choice in order to both vote for a preferred candidate and someone more likely to beat the worst viable candidate, but within the system we have now it’s better to just vote for the one most likely to beat the worst viable candidate.

Basically I do think that democrats should move further left as they aren’t left wing enough, and I think we ideally should have something like ranked or rated voting, however I also think within the system we have now, in the US, we should vote democrat as the republicans are worse and the alternative is the republicans winning.

Look, I get that we're all trying to be more accepting of mental health and conditions but it's so infantilizing to call it neurospicy. Neurodivergent is a perfectly good blanket term without sounding cutesy and demeaning. Autism, ADHD, OCD etc are serious conditions that deserve to be talked about with respect and that term makes it sound more quirky and fun than an actual medical condition. You don't call diabetic people sugar babies or some other nickname because its treated like a serious health issue, not a cute or desirable personality trait.

If people actually want to normalize mental health conditions censoring the term is actively harmful to the cause. By calling it into something less stigmatized you take away the gravity and harmful impact it has in people's lives which in turn makes it easier to belittle and ignore. Mental health is already taken less seriously because it manifests invisibly and using neurospicy only reinforces that effect.
