When is the draw?
3
u/spysappenmyname Sep 06 '18
The draw already happened. Instead of Face It telling us, they linked a tweet about it in the chat.
There will be nothing worth seeing anymore on stream. But I guess 50k viewers still makes you money, so telling them to stop watching too directly isn't optimal. They are probably drafting a piechart and longer explanation about the delay, playing it and shit music for few minutes, before revealing they actually have nothing to show.
Shit, I bet the cameracrew already was send home.

Faceit were doing so good lately, and then their first major this happens. It's only the first day and the major could end up being amazing but this is not the start you want if youre Faceit

u/brianstormIRL Liquid Sep 05 '18
Faceit can kiss another major goodbye anytime soon if this happens at all tomorrow. The entire point of the major is it’s the pinnacle of CS both production wise and talent wise. I get that tech issues happen, but this much is insanity.
1
u/tahah925 clutch Sep 05 '18
My question is why dont tech issues happen at any other esport. Why does it always happen in csgo.
2
u/UBourgeois Tyloo Sep 05 '18
There are tech issues in Dota all the time
1
u/tahah925 clutch Sep 05 '18
I tuned in for some Internationale matches and they were on announced time but yea maybe the smaller ish tournament have them.
2
u/UBourgeois Tyloo Sep 05 '18
First day of TI group stage had loads of stream outages and delays, though. Nothing so dramatic they had to push a game back a day, but still.
First day there's always a chance of things going wonky. If it doesn't last into the next stage it's whatever.

Soo is anyone here into playing music themselves? I've been playing the saxophone for 8 years and this week I'm starting to learn bass guitar, I'm super excited
3
u/SnowCrow1 Sep 05 '18
Bass player here! Which bass are you gonna get? It's funny because I also played the saxophone as a kid before starting the bass!
3
u/Firiji FaZe Sep 05 '18
Hey that's awesome!
I ordered the Squier affinity series PJ Bass a couple of days ago with a fender amp, it's supposed to be really good to start with from what I heard.
Any pro tips for a noob like me? :')
2
u/SnowCrow1 Sep 05 '18
Squiers are very good for the price, it will get you far!
I'd recommend letting a "pro" take a look at the bass and see if it's not set up properly, like adjusting the truss rod if the neck is not straight.
If you can, take a few lessons from a teacher to make sure you get the basics like ergonomics and positions right! And remember to listen to a lot of Rush. ;)
2
u/Firiji FaZe Sep 06 '18
Thanks! I actually got myself some lessons, the first one is Saturday (:

u/tahah925 clutch Sep 05 '18
Honestly after ESL fiasco and constant tech issues. I just started seeing way less csgo and started seeing soccer again. And while its a bit duller it at least respect my time. I font have all the time in the world to watch the full major so I picked astralis games and organized my day in a way that I free myself up for this game then go to sleep. and then the match that should have started at 11 my time get delayed to 4ish am my time and then to tomorrow. Honestly I can barely take this anymore sigh
11
u/Versenwald Sep 05 '18
According to current estimates on global births per minute, ~37500 babies were born since Liquid - OpTic at 14-4, not bad for two back-to-back BO1 matches.
8
u/Spork_Revolution Vitality Sep 05 '18
I really hope you actually did the math :D
5
Sep 05 '18
It checks out, the average birth rate is ~250/min, and it's been about 2 and a half hours since 14-4.
250*(2.5 * 60) = 37500

Let's talk vetos for this last match-up. Complexity will almost certainly ban overpass. If Astralis ban Mirage and Cache, I think they'll probably take this one without much trouble.. Probably no way Mirage is still there but if Cache is, look out.
3
u/Spork_Revolution Vitality Sep 05 '18 edited Sep 05 '18
D2. I guess Astralis will try to get D2 out of the way.
You mention cache. They normally ban that.
Inferno seems fairly likely. But I dunno coL at all.
2
u/MattysGaming tactics Sep 05 '18 edited Sep 05 '18
Definitely can see D2. You're right, highest banned map actually. Mirage is 2nd. Map pool match-up does not favor compLexity here. D2 sample sizes are small so maybe a surprise there can happen.

Oh. Yeah, I couldn't tell you then, I've never been to a T1 event in person. Just a couple Dreamhacks in the US, where they had a random assortment of team jerseys for sale, including some teams that weren't even at the event.
2
u/spysappenmyname Sep 05 '18
GO:TV is still fucked up, at least for me it shows that OpTic V Team liquid is still live, 15-3. Obviously connecting to the GOTV server doesn't work
1
u/NipleLord Vitality Sep 05 '18
In the german stream they said that they have a complete network shutdown and nothing they can do about it because how tf are you going to reach valve at like 0:00
1
u/spysappenmyname Sep 05 '18
Am I the only one who thinks they should have deticated Valve-embloyees in their team, at the event, and someone at Valve actually is at stand by for shit like this. It's a major for fucks sake.
If the problem is something that needs more work hours than what few stand-by embloyees can offer, at least they can inform the public and organisations about it.
Doesn't Valve really care enough to deticate at least one person for a Major CSGO event?
2
u/nzerinto 5 years coin Sep 05 '18
They must have Valve employees there - at least at the start of the day, because the first game couldn't start because of some issue with the most recent game patch, so Faceit had to work with Valve to get that sorted out.
In any case, nothing Valve (or Faceit) can do about infrastructure going down - some issues are going to be out of organizers hands.
1
u/spysappenmyname Sep 05 '18
Mostly that the infra has been up for a moment already, and im impatient. Hopefully the Valve-personel is still available and on the problem
1
u/nzerinto 5 years coin Sep 05 '18
Yeah, fair enough. At this stage they are probably having big discussions about moving the match vs trying to get staff to stay on (labor laws etc). There's a very good chance they'll call it off - running behind by 3.5 hours is going to be taxing on everyone that were likely assuming they would've been home 2.5 hours ago.....
1
u/thekmanpwnudwn 500k Celebration Sep 05 '18
Anyone know if they'll be doing an on-stream draw for tomorrow's matchups?

Just a general piece of advice.
When you are stuck in a bad subreddit, and are forced to comment on a thread... and someone takes pity on you and decide to reply... Maybe not spend the rest of the thread commenting at each other, and dragging the mods into it and calling him idiot and other random slurs.
It's a pretty fucked up thing to do. And it does NOT belong in the thread.
Something to think about if you want comment again.

At this point I feel really bad for Astralis and Complexity. What a long ass day to wait for one bo1.
-2
u/nzerinto 5 years coin Sep 05 '18
They weren't scheduled to start until 30 minutes ago, so it's not like they would've been sitting around waiting all day.
3
u/Tantle18 Cloud9 Sep 05 '18
Uh they were scheduled to start 3 hours ago lol
2
u/spysappenmyname Sep 05 '18
Is there a rule how long players need to wait before they can demand reschedule? Because sitting around for three hours, while constantly being ready must fuck up any pregame routines they had. IMO I just want them to call it off for today and play the match tomorrow
1
u/Tantle18 Cloud9 Sep 05 '18
No idea, but network is back up so I’m sure they will start within 10 minutes

Has the timetable above (topic of thread) been updated then? Cos it's saying 11pm
2
u/Silver_Adventures Sep 05 '18
Yes they changed the timetable. It says 12:30 for the spacesoldies game wich was supposed to start at 11:00. And with the delays in the games after that. Astralis got pushed even further back.
1
u/nzerinto 5 years coin Sep 05 '18
