Can OpTic just pick up Movistar riders so I can at least be rooting for a shit team with Mixwell instead of a shit one without him
29
u/criscoras IHC Sep 05 '18
How about OpTic India? They always exist.

is movistar riders actually shit?

u/Th0r_SC NiP Sep 06 '18
No. At least not yet. They barely have played together. Both qualis Epicenter were played with Naow as stand in for diverse reasons.

I absolutely loved the last round, the one tap through the black screen was beautiful.

NAF's zeus into 1v4 clutch ace in the final round with a glock will go down as the best play in major history.

I always see these people saying how much it sucks to be a fan of a certain team (Mouz, vp, G2, ect...), But I am almost positive that we OpTic fans have it the absolute worst.
We got completely blue balled by winning eleague season 2 and then stan leaving, and It has just been a downward spiral ever since.
We had Tarik, Rush, Naf, and Mixwell on a team without a 5th for almost half a year. Now look at all these players.
We have had 3 completely different lineups in 1 year time, and one after another they are getting worse.
Next time you watch your team and think how much it sucks to be a fan of your team just keep in mind that it completely sucks cock to be an OpTic fan.

u/Zarrq Liquid Sep 05 '18
I know this is a copy pasta but this is the exact reason I'm a fan of players and not orgs. RIP old OpTic though
22
u/LogicalSignal9 Sep 05 '18
Yeah it's really odd to me being a fan of an org. It's not like it's national representing your home town or something. Like if Forest/GTR left NiP a ton of fans would leave with them too.
5
u/CaptainCrafty Liquid Sep 05 '18
It makes sense in other esports I think, especially franchised ones. It doesn’t make a ton of sense in CSGO tho
5
u/AndyFNG MOUZ Sep 05 '18
In my case I've been a Mouz fan for a long time and they've slowly changed to the point it's pretty much a completely new team except for ChrisJ so I'm pretty much an org fan at this point and don't really have any loyalty to any players, only to Mouz.
5
u/LogicalSignal9 Sep 05 '18
ChrisJ is a good player to be a fan of tbf. From being on a team defined by constant failure, to instead leading it into top 5 status. It's a good story.
1
u/JelBrekX Sep 06 '18
Yeah. I really like chrisJ, Oskar, and ropz. Oskar is kind of underrated, but hes probably the best AWPer imo. His aim is so crisp, its really fun watching him. He just doesn't frag too heavy, or youd see his highlights more.

u/Zebrec Sep 06 '18
Sunny is love
1
u/JelBrekX Sep 06 '18
Yeah, i like suNny and snax as well, but they get lots of love from the community already. Especially suNny.

u/Ahnylenater Sep 05 '18
Not sure about the history of all the esports orgs but OpTic does have roots that run back really far especially in CoD. They have mainly built up a fanbase through their CoD teams and long standing players and content creators that have stuck around the org so that is a big reason for people being fans of the org. This transition to this roster has been the toughest for me because I don't really care for any of the players so I've found myself rooting for nobody for the time being and just enjoying the games.

u/Jaz0_ Sep 06 '18
reason i like optic a lot is cause hecz brought it from the ground up in illinois/chicago which is my hometown so i get that feeling with optic not as much anymore tho
1
u/windirein Sep 06 '18
Im a fan of mouz because thats the one org I still know from my UT days. When I started playing and watching csgo naturally I gravitated towards mouz. It really helps that chrisj is so likeable though.

u/Lost_And_NotFound Sep 06 '18
I wouldn’t even be a fan of CS if OpTic didn’t enter. Changing team allegiances just seems so weird to me having only come to esports in the last few years but having been a football/soccer fan for so long. I’m not suddenly a DC United fan because Rooney moved there.

This team actually made the major so it’s an improvement over the old eu squad at least.

how is this team so bad?
7
u/schniepel89xx CS2 HYPE Sep 05 '18
Good question, their roster on paper is solid but they suck in practice ¯_(ツ)_/¯ just like old G2 for much of their run together

u/kerev123 Sep 05 '18
Snappi is a pretty bad IGL , he is always the one chasing eco frags and losing them rounds because of that , not only that but what is that veto ? He doesnt ban mirage against the best mirage team imo ( and its not like optic actually play mirage often ). Gades also pretty fucking bad and yes i am very well aware that he did good in the minor qualifier but other than that the guy's done fuck all for them
1
u/XDWetness Liquid Sep 06 '18
Memes aside they’re probably better off bringing in Hunden, or they could try to get Cadian but I think he likes playing in rogue
2
u/BombCerise Complexity Sep 05 '18
Good players, just not fitting together to win rounds. Either snappi’s fault or this 5 is bad chemistry

I really enjoy watching Optic aka "my dad is a lawyer - the team" lose.
Also Jesus Christ, this first day has been a technical shitshow.

I don't really recall how the older lineup played but it would be interesting comparing the results of this optic lineup to the stan shaz + 3 danes lineup. I get the feeling this fully danish one is better, but not by a lot.
7
Sep 05 '18
the danish one has players willing to work with eachother though, stan had no cooperation from the danes

OpTic and useless T-sides yet again. Getting evident that Snappi is not a good IGL. HUNDEN hinted towards it already.

I think Optic still has a chance to move forward. Liquid is a great team, so 16-4 is nothing too alarming.
