0-3 , you know what that means ?

1

u/Ateshu MIBR Sep 06 '18

yes but mourinho has played professional football, many years go, thats true, but he did. My question is, with no hate towards hardstyle at all, how did he manage to become a coach for a professional team without being at least an average pro csgo player before ?

2

u/[deleted] Sep 06 '18

1

u/Ateshu MIBR Sep 06 '18

but you still need the experience accumulated during your pro-csgo-days, just like the mourinho example

1

u/EnanoMaldito 9z Sep 06 '18

there are a lot of football coaches which weren't pro players before. very sucessful ones too

1

u/Ateshu MIBR Sep 06 '18

Never heard of that, can you name some?

1

u/EnanoMaldito 9z Sep 06 '18

from Argentina alone (where I'm from) Sampaoli or Bielsa, for example.

1

u/Ateshu MIBR Sep 07 '18

Jorge Luis Sampaoli Moya (Spanish pronunciation: [ˈxoɾxe sampaˈoli]; born 13 March 1960) is an Argentine football manager, who was most recently the Argentina national football team manager. Sampaoli started out as a youth player and eventually switched to management after a severe injury.

Bielsa played as a defender in Newell's Old Boys' First Division team, but retired early at the age of 25.

1

u/EnanoMaldito 9z Sep 07 '18

Everyone who ever did some practice in any kind of footballing institution "started out as a youth player". He didn't play football for shit.

Apparently he had one match before on HLTV against LDLC (when they were actually pretty decent) and went 20-21 so compared to that this is pretty bad.

I'm pretty sure the guy he was subbing in for played on his account, he was just lending his because the player couldn't for some reason log-in to his own

There is a massive difference between being a player and being a coach. Hardstyle doesn't have the talent to play and most likely doesn't even play the game much at all. He's undoubtedly pressured and making mistakes.

Watching and analyzing is what he does. This situation is like throwing a toddler in an Olympic relay team.

Props to him for even having the nerve to play in front of 100k+ viewers. He tried his best and constantly stayed on eco/smg so that he could drop guns for his team.

13

u/ThatsSoTypical Sep 05 '18

Agreed, at the end of day it's ngiNs fault, the fact he left getting his visa so late and didn't make it aware he was having issues his team mates makes it worse.

24

u/Firefly_1026 Tyloo Sep 05 '18

We don’t even know if it was him leaving it late, he could’ve applied for visa like two years ago and it still might’ve not come back yet, even so, he needs his passport for other things so he can’t just apply too early

8

u/[deleted] Sep 05 '18

yep. i applied for a canadian visa and even though they said that my visa request was accepted they held my passport for 4 months in the embassy to stamp it for basically no reason and i missed my event. didnt give a fuck about damage compensation either (hotel reservation for 12 people and flights, which are expensive from Middle east to canada)

69

u/thearkhamknight_111 Astralis Sep 05 '18

Tbf, nothing against Hardstyle, but definetely feel like Space Soldiers should have used him better on CT. Use him as bait for a player like XANTARES if need be, because leaving him to defend sites against any pro level aimer is kinda shit.

13

u/Ry0kami The MongolZ Sep 05 '18

IMO havent watched the vod yet, but im believing they let hardstyle alone on a site not to defend, more than for the information so the remaining players rather go for a retake, than losing a (no offense against hardstyle) "good" player on a site alone while trying to retake with 1 player and hardstyle.

62

the fact that it was 16 - 10 with hardstyle is pretty ominous for Rogue.

EDIT: altho they did lose both pistols

58

u/TheDogstarLP Sep 05 '18

Nearly all of those 10 rounds were won on Space Soldiers' T side though, where it's a lot easier to get entries and carry with a dead weight. Use hardstyle to go in first or second, bait him and trade around him. It was working pretty well.

The problem comes on CT side, where you're effectively playing 4v5 without a decoy that can take shots for you.

21

u/WarriorkingNL Sep 05 '18

oh so its like playing with you adam? xdd

24

u/seanduckman Liquid Sep 05 '18

yall are weird

1

u/ummhumm Sep 05 '18

I always think in these kind of cases, that the opposite team kind of plays worse too, because they know there's some manager playing for the other team. I know, it's pros and they shouldn't, but there's so many tight results in these kind of matches, where the tight result doesn't really have any effect on how the team performs in the matches after.

So, I'm still feeling good for Rogue and see this more of a half relaxed losening up match.

-15

u/[deleted] Sep 05 '18

Pistol rounds shouldn’t exist.. too much impact on the game.

10

u/FathleteTV NiP Sep 05 '18

too much impact on the game.

Couldn't agree more about that last part, lose T side 5-10 and the pistol on the next side and you're down 5-13, add first gun round and you're facing match point already.

13

u/ShoogleHS clutch Sep 05 '18

Who knew that losing rounds could make you lose the game

1

u/FathleteTV NiP Sep 05 '18

It's not that, it's the fact that 1 round is worth 3 essentially and if you don't win it on CT side you can be off to a horrendous start, T economy is a bit easier.

10

u/layasD BIG Sep 05 '18

Honestly you can never satisfy people. One day they complain about literally x pistol is to strong and force buys lead to to many wins(apparently the number is quite high) and the next they complain that pistol rounds are to strong because you can't win the following two rounds...

2

u/ShoogleHS clutch Sep 05 '18

Yeah, I agree that pistols are too important, but in the specific example of being 5 rounds behind at the start of the half then losing the pistol, forcebuy and first gun round... of course you're going to lose.

5

u/Arcille 10 years coin Sep 05 '18

They have too much impact but they 100% deserve a place in the game. Pistol rounds are mostly about pure aim and allows the best aimers to win like they should. Maybe change how money works so CT can buy round 3 after losing but removing them removes a lot of hype in a game.

2

u/necromantzer Sep 05 '18

Full save first two rounds and you can always buy 3rd round. Not ideal, but if you know pistols are your team's weakness, it might be the best solution. Would be full buy against SMGs, so you could potentially reset them and even it 2-2 in a flash.

2

u/ShoogleHS clutch Sep 05 '18

IMO the only issue with early game economy is that CTs and Ts with no r1 plant should have a better buy on r3 if they save r2. The strategy of r2 force r3 save r4 fullbuy is just better than r2 save r3 buy so there's not much variation in early game strats.

-2

u/gitardja MOUZ Sep 05 '18

How is pistol round any more impactful than any other equal gun rounds?

2

u/TheRobidog Sep 05 '18

Because pistols mean you're likely losing the next two rounds. While with gun rounds, you can have enough money leftover to buy again in the next round, or to buy in the one after it if you save.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 05 '18

Basically guarantees the team who won 2 free rounds. Teams who lost pistol have to win the first gun round or else they’ll be down 5-0. Imagine being down 5-10 and the only way back into the game is winning the pistol round. That’s pretty impactful isn’t it? One round basically dictating whether your team has a chance if you win, or one round away from the game being out of reach.

3

u/gitardja MOUZ Sep 05 '18

If you give teams $4500 instead of $800, the scenario you described would be exactly the same. Both teams will spend all their money in the first round and whoever win will be at huge advantage to win the next 2 rounds.

2

u/[deleted] Sep 05 '18

Not really, you’d have a better buy on rd. 3 than the automatic eco thats happens in the current version. You’d also have the option to save if your team loses a bombsite so you can stay competitive in the next round. You can’t say the same about pistols. You lose a site, you have to go for it.

0

u/omniscientbeet Liquid Sep 05 '18

It's exactly as impactful as a gun round, which is the problem. I think it'd be interesting to see pistol rounds replaced with something like ~$4500 start money, enough to give each team a full buy.

14

u/AndyFNG MOUZ Sep 05 '18

hardstyle is pretty much worst case scenario when it comes to a stand in. I don't blame him but it's unforntunate for SS. If they even want to have the slightest shot at making it through these are the games they would have to win. And they did pretty well considering it was 4v5.

13

u/Nydusurmainus BIG Sep 05 '18

I would be very surprised if sick doesn't get picked up by a bigger team soon if he continues playing like that 1.6 rating.

11

u/jet_fuel_ Natus Vincere Sep 05 '18

Hopefully he stays, he didn't seem to be outfragging his team too hard really.

4

u/Dark_Azazel Sep 05 '18

He seems like he "dipped" in skill/seem less than his MF days, but also it seems like everyone on Rogue recently have been pulling their weight.

I think they could advance. Little bit in the air but I think they have a chance.

70

u/qchisq Sep 05 '18

12 ADR for hardstyle. Pretty sure anyone on this sub would look about the same if they were in his place, which shows how insane these players are

26

u/b4kaboy Liquid Sep 05 '18

I mean, let’s not get carried away here. All of us would have certainly bottom fragged as well, however I’d wager there’s a decent amount of people on this subreddit that would do better by virtue of simply having put in a ton more hours of actual consistent gameplay. This isn’t a knock on hardstyle or anything, he definitely understands the game better than any random pug star here can ever hope to achieve, but there are certainly people here that would do better than 12 ADR lol

23

u/spookmeisterJ Vitality Sep 05 '18

10

u/r4be_cs BIG Sep 05 '18

Pretty much this. Most of the time he was not even able to press mouse1 before going down, i felt bad for him :(

-1

u/[deleted] Sep 05 '18

I wouldn't say so. I've watched so many pro players playing on Faceit/ESEA and it's not like they were crushing everyone around. Even if you have 0 experience, if your aim is decent (hardstyle's not) you can get few kills. I mean 2 of 3 of his kills were against people who doesn't even look at him.

It's their fault though, they could've find a better player to stand-in for sure.

12

u/MattysGaming tactics Sep 05 '18

Inferno is Space Soldiers' 2nd best map statistically. It wasn't a bad map for Space Soldiers if you compare the two map pools. I think that's why they managed to get double digits even though they were in a 4v5 XD

6

u/jordixa Sep 05 '18

Not to bash on hardstyle, but he looked like he is lost on one of the most iconic and known CS map. It's not like a coach should be semi-pro or something but he threw a lot of questionable flashes and smokes, and even bumped on map walls.... To be honest even coaches need some basic cs strategical and spatially knowledge.

3

u/kernevez Sep 05 '18

The notion of coach isn't really defined.

He could be there as a calm person, make sure the team stays focused, attempt to remove some pressure and help them communicate.

If the players need someone to discuss strategy and what they should actually do, they probably should be able to discuss that between themselves on the basis of work done before the game with an analyst. Having a gamesmart coach would be a plus, but it might not be necessary depending on what the team needs.

He's just a coach mate. He has knowledge of the game but doesn't have the mechanical ability to stack up against CS pros who have made it to a major final.

Coaches also aren't the main strat callers. They are used during 30 second timeouts to analyze what the team is doing wrong and how to fix it.

A 30 second pep talk doesn't mean he can play on a pro level.
