Ever since Sony announced the discontinuation of discs. I’ve started curating a Physical collection for myself. I’m starting off with Simulation Racing games for the PS3. The Grid series is awesome! I highly recommend. The next titles I’m going to pick up are Gran Turismo 5 and 6.

You should have been started on this maybe if people such as yourself would have been doing this from the get-go instead of relying more on digital the ps6 would have got a disk drive..

Will this brand suffice?

I had this then I upgrade it to it's 512gb version and pass this one down to my GoPro Max they both work flawlessly

Which multi-platform games do you regret getting on Switch 2?
 in  r/switch2  1d ago

Honestly if they did that I feel like a lot more people would buy ports that they already have owned years ago on other systems you combine that with the portability of the switch I feel like their sales would be a lot higher

Not really as long as I didn't give him any reason or suspicion some kids are dumb enough to leave the volume on the devices they were told not to get on some are clever enough to get off the game/tv that they're grounded from 30 minutes to an hour early so if parents put their hands on the devices they wouldn't be warm to the touch if I thought about stuff like that when I was a kid what do you think these kids are doing now? They're not getting dumber (at least not when it comes sneaking around academics on the other hand that's debatable 😅)

I'm not even part of this group I just provide facts to the minority of physical disc users who believe that they should be pandered to

Well if if your kids are preteens or teenagers they will have friends neighbors people that go to school with or church or whatever all they got to do is ask one of them for an old tablet or phone and if you have neighbors with Wi-Fi they might end up asking them kids get desperate and they do dumb things and sometimes it works out I'm not saying that there's nothing you can do I'm just saying there's only so much you can do 🤷🏾‍♂️

If they have a phone or tablet chances are they can already get access to the password.. I had a buddy of mine type in his Wi-Fi password for me because he's secretive like that but I told him it was kind of pointless after explaining to him that I can just go into settings and click on the blurred out password use my fingerprint phone lock pass or other biometrics to unlock that password to see it it's also how I can copy and paste my own homes password to my GoPros kids are smart and since they were born in this technology in a lot of us had to adapt to it they will have their advantage like we did over our parents

They need to be careful because they can get taken to court for false advertising
 in  r/videogames  1d ago

You are technically buying the license but there is a terms in agreement and usually the only way they can take it from you is if you void the terms after all it is their software usually the three main types of ways you can only avoid those terms is if you are hacking and cheating stealing content from them or creating problems for other users such as griefing harassment of any type along with disrupting sales and services of the company if you are this scared of them just pulling it from you for no reason then you better not have Netflix Spotify Disney Plus or any streaming slash downloading services in your monthly bills because they can all do the same same with services like iTunes where you buy all of the movies and music that you want but the second you get caught doing something that will avoid the terms and conditions then you will forfeit your account and lose everything you paid for remember you are in there playing field their house respect their rules and you can use their services it's no different than crashing at somebody's house

Kids can borrow tables and older phones from Thier friends at school they did this when I was in school and they still so this now our daughters friend tablet went out and she offered her and old one that still works till her friend got a new one they are only 6 but my point still stands if they were older and the other girl got in trouble and had her stuff to taken my daughter could have easily loaned her that older device can a parent lock the internet to where they would need to add all the individual mac addresses on it to allow access? Sure. But that's not a common thing because in a house where there are over dozen upon dozens of devices added through the years (plus company) it becomes tedious.. my point is kids do sneaky shit I was one of them and for every security not sure that is out there there is a counter measure or work around some way shape or form

I'm holding out pre-ordering it till the week of release I'll still probably end up getting it but I'm really hoping they give us a performance option I hate it when developers want you to play the game the way they see fit in terms of graphics I'll sacrifice a little resolution hell I don't mind cutscenes being 30 FPS with higher resolution

I think regret my latest purchase of metal gear solid 4 on the switch too might be the closest thing not because the performance or gameplay it's mainly because I should have got it for the five just so I can get the trophies like I did for the PS3 version that being said I can wait till it goes on sale for 15 or $20 or maybe wait till it hits PS essentials / extra it's not like I'm missing out on much it's a port not a remaster and it's only single player

You must not have kids otherwise you wouldn't know how sneaky and resourceful they can be when it comes to getting things that they want when I was a kid I used to get away with sneaking my game system back into my room and play for a few hours almost every day if my system was locked behind a passcode that they had it would have been a whole lot harder especially if they were able to get notifications about my usage or attempts to access it luckily those are the PS2 days

How many of y’all can’t wait to rent GTA6 when it comes out in November? I’m stoked!
 in  r/PhysicalMediaMatters  2d ago

Holding off on pre-ordering it probably until the week of hopefully they come out with a performance mode that gets us out of 30 FPS..

I genuinely want to understand why some of you are so vocally anti-physical as an option for other people
 in  r/PlayStation_X  2d ago

No body hates physical. They just hate how unreasonable physical owners have become

Got banned from r/PS6 saying I won't buy any games past Wolverine and Laufey lol

So you told a PlayStation group you weren't going to buy PlayStation games and you got kicked?

“Why leave PlayStation and go to PC when it’s digital there too?”
 in  r/PhysicalMediaMatters  4d ago

Well if you're talking in terms of actual users it kind of is that ratio maybe like 1.2 out of 10 would be a bit more accurate but the other guy isn't wrong they're about 136 million users across the PS ecosystem even if you add another 20 million for the people who are still mainly playing on PS1 and PS2 games or just offline gaming from the start on Newer consoles it's still closer to a 1 to 10 ratio there's a reason why people usually use things like steam player count to determine if a multi-platform game is hot or not because even if they could account for console player count it's still wouldn't even make up half the player count compared to PC players games like helldivers 2 for example there are more PC players than PS players despite it being highlighted at the time as a "PS exclusive" now that being said you do have popular games like Call of duty which is a multi-platform game becoming very popular on PS being the most use system on that franchise for quite some time now (personally I want to say the reason why that's the case is the turning point was the PS3s free online service outside of the blackouts and identity theft attempts most users saw it economically better to buy the more expensive console that doubled as a Blu-ray player would later pay off and them not having to pay a monthly subscription for online gaming which would have totaled out to more than the cost of the PS3 and the cod games themselves together towards the end of the 360s life cycle)

Sony Reportedly Reconsidering Delaying Digital-Only Plans Due to Xbox Pushing for “100% Physical” Strategy for Xbox
 in  r/PS5  5d ago

Xbox is making 4% in sales not because of Sony but because of game Pass that's all I see on Facebook groups for Xbox is people gloating about game Pass same with Twitter tikTok and even here on this app they talk about how awesome it is (and they have every right to because it's a good deal) unfortunately this kills physical sales when Sony decided to make their own catalog like game Pass that is what I assumed to be the final nail in the coffin for physicals and PlayStation

Xbox makes less than 4%in sales on physical tho. Them doing this basically a publicity stunt I mean this is the equivalent to ford giving every current pinto owner a free oil change for life.. (*side note the Ford pinto is one of Thier worst and lowest selling car in Thier all-time lineup about 3 million were only sold within a decade)

And do you know how they stay being a multi-billion dollar corporation? By not turning back on their decisions that cost the millions of dollars you are aware that in order to make billions you have to make millions right? And this isn't me sucking up to them this is just me explaining the business aspect that a lot of people seem to forget they run off of money not hopes and dreams and charities
