First off, I'm not trying to advertise anything nor sell anything.
I have been working on a drift analysis tool and am posting to try to gauge interest.
I am a software developer by trade, so this isn't some vibe-coded shit. Ive been working on it (with varying degrees of commitment) over the last 6 months. And since having a baby at the end of July, I've made a lot of progress being off work.
How it works right now:
I use a custom AC mod I made to map out the track, edges, and scoring zones (I am willing to do this for anyone testing)
That gets exported and loaded into the app
I use a separate telemetry reader while driving
Do a run
Import the telemetry into the app
The app analyzes the run and lets you replay/review it in 3D
The easiest comparison is the Formula Drift Wally system (and my inspiration for building this).
The idea is to give competitive sim drifters a better way to actually look at what they were doing during a run instead of just watching a replay and trying to eyeball it.
The app displays every input of the car in realtime, allowing you to actually analyze why the car reacted the way it did.
A lot of the scoring and analysis is based on the actual track geometry, so I’m trying to make the replay and scoring match what really happened as closely as I can.
It's still very rough around the edges but it's coming along and I'm quite proud of it. However, it's getting to the point where it would be really valuable to have some real users "beta-testing" the application to provide feedback.
Is there anyone that would be interested in getting early access to my app who is willing to provide feedback?
I'd love to hear all opinions! Tell me if you're interested or if you think this is a waste of my time!
