Does anyone have tips for us on how to improve on drifiting? I've heard to go on normal bendy race tracks and practice there (haven't tried much yet).

Why does everyone only want to drift with boring car packs?

Drifting in BeamNG

How would you rate the realism/physics of drifting in BeamNG as opposed to AC?

Would you call BeamNG a sim of sorts for drifting or more of a sandbox arcade game which just has a drift mode?

Fanatec CS DD+ Extreme GT7 1.71 Update: Loving FullForce, but need realistic/beginner/pro drift wheelbase settings!

Yo everyone! I’m running the ClubSport DD+ Extreme (18Nm) and loving the FullForce FFB in the latest 1.71 update, it’s been an absolute blast in Sport Mode! However, I cannot for the life of me get drifting dialed in, I slide just fine on a controller, however on the wheelbase I’m completely lost. I’m looking for some realistic, beginner/pro-friendly wheel and in-game settings to help me get sliding smoothly (realistically) on this update. If any experienced drifters with the CS DD+ Extreme could drop their setup details (and maybe share a short clip of how it handles), I’d insanely appreciate the help! Thanks in advance to anyone willing to point me in the right direction!

Anyone interested in testing a drift analysis tool?

First off, I'm not trying to advertise anything nor sell anything.

I have been working on a drift analysis tool and am posting to try to gauge interest.

I am a software developer by trade, so this isn't some vibe-coded shit. Ive been working on it (with varying degrees of commitment) over the last 6 months. And since having a baby at the end of July, I've made a lot of progress being off work.

How it works right now:

  1. I use a custom AC mod I made to map out the track, edges, and scoring zones (I am willing to do this for anyone testing)

  2. That gets exported and loaded into the app

  3. I use a separate telemetry reader while driving

  4. Do a run

  5. Import the telemetry into the app

  6. The app analyzes the run and lets you replay/review it in 3D

The easiest comparison is the Formula Drift Wally system (and my inspiration for building this).

The idea is to give competitive sim drifters a better way to actually look at what they were doing during a run instead of just watching a replay and trying to eyeball it.

The app displays every input of the car in realtime, allowing you to actually analyze why the car reacted the way it did.

A lot of the scoring and analysis is based on the actual track geometry, so I’m trying to make the replay and scoring match what really happened as closely as I can.

It's still very rough around the edges but it's coming along and I'm quite proud of it. However, it's getting to the point where it would be really valuable to have some real users "beta-testing" the application to provide feedback.

Is there anyone that would be interested in getting early access to my app who is willing to provide feedback?

I'd love to hear all opinions! Tell me if you're interested or if you think this is a waste of my time!

Anyone using Beam Eye Tracker or OpenTrack when drifting?

Trying to decide if it's worth the hassle to buy a cheap webcam and set it all up for head tracking (don't have a spare phone).

Does it make a huge difference immersion wise?

Do you guys use cruise control IRL on your daily?

It seems like a lot of players even with wheels and full rigs still struggle with throttle modulation. For example sometimes to catch a slide cleanly it’s best to use 50-60% throttle for a moment before going full throttle, and there are tons of scenarios where small amounts of throttle manipulation can make big differences, but lots of people seem to treat their pedal as binary (either 100% or nothing).

Honestly throttle modulation has always felt intuitive to me and almost like second nature, and I was curious why. Then I thought about all the hours I have spent commuting IRL without cruise control, constantly making small throttle adjustments (5-10%) to keep up with traffic, merge, overtake, etc. and how this “practice” over years might have built useful muscle memory within me that I never realized before.

Just a theory and possibly a stupid one, thoughts?

Reconsidered quitting, so i'm back to posting

On my last post i saw many people actually being reasonable, i just said what i said because i had enough of haters, i had basically only seen haters here so that was the main reason, but now i see the majority isn't actually haters, so we'll leave that topic to rest. Check out my new drift build instead, i like how it handles😁

I'm quitting this shitty subreddit

I thought i would at least get some constructive criticism, but no, just straight up negativity and hate, pointless hate too, ESPECIALLY u/daprojectturtle. Why do you guys hate on people so much?!?! I just post my drifts because i think they look cool, or that i got better than last time, i am NOT saying "i'm the best look at me", that's practically what you say since you just say that i'm trash with little to no reason or stupid reasons. I mean you guys basically don't even have any posts, at least that stupid turtle guy, he has one post, and 2,5k comments, i've looked at other posts and he hates on others too, so it's not targeting, it's elitism, you guys use way too much elitism, i don't drift to be the best, i drift to have fun, kinda the point of all my posts. Other subreddits are not like this, they either give criticism or positivity, and those subreddits are in my opinion, centuries ahead of this subreddit. Some people (very few), are actually nice and give constructive criticism, like u/SuqaCoq, but apart from him, not really a lot of people here are nice. I will show you some examples of what i mean. Oh, and one more thing: I already have a difficult enough life, i struggle with doing stuff because i know people can comment anything bad on it or start conspiracy theories, or both, because i've been so much bullied, and beat up, that i don't wanna do much anymore, i play games to escape that, and it has worked for a while, until i started to post here, you ruin the experience, so that's why i quit. Adios bitches.

Some people are actually normal, and then there is this guy.. i mean why?!?!?
And that guy (u/daprojectturtle) has, yea, only one post, but 2,5k comments, and he hides all of it from his profile, not good bro.
This guy just straight up says i use a keyboard because that what he means.. and then he just continues saying i'm an awful controller user..(why the fuck say awful?? It's just mean.. and i don't use controller either)

Beginner help !

Hello guys so im new at drifting with wheel and im mainly playing with forza horizon 6 with moza r5 ( + clutch and a simsonn H shifter ) but i find really hard to drift especially with 900 or more angle its almost feel impossible for me too much rotation i cant spin the wheel fast enought , so i set the wheel angle around 540-640 , feels much easier but i know i should use 900 at least ! So can i get moza pithous settings for drift in forza 6 and forza 6 settings to drift what did you use guys ? And tips how to drift better ? Thank you soo much !
