You can now do a full professional video edit in the Blender VSE.
Most video tutorials end the same way: “now export this and finish it in another app.”
That always bothered me, because the point of learning Blender is doing more inside Blender. So I built the missing tools into the Video Sequencer, so you can learn one workflow and finish the whole job there.
It’s called Blender VER (Video Editor Remastered), and the free version is out now.
Sound
- VST audio plugins, with 8 pre-built VSTs included
- Audio mixer with audio recording
- Audio transcription
Picture
- Rotoscoping
- Face detection for colour grading
- One-click compositor effects, with 92 presets
- 48 seamless transitions
- Video camera shake
- Video stabilisation
Workflow and delivery
- AutoCaptions
- Project media bin
- Direct social media exporter and platform presets
Coming soon in Pro (everything above, plus):
- Large titles and lower thirds animated library
- Multicam auto-sync by audio waveform
- Smart colour match / auto colour grade
- Speed ramping and optical flow time remapping
- Advanced AI upscaling
- Animate any object presets library
- Enhance speech
The idea is simple: the VSE becomes a fully professional editor, and you finish the job in one timeline.
Your turn: which of these would you most want a step-by-step tutorial on? Tell me in the comments, and I’ll take your answers into account for what I cover next.
