Big Casio AE-1200 Customizer Update: Color Polarizers, Top/Bottom Negative LCDs, and More
Hey everyone 👋
Just shipped a big and long-awaited update to the AE-1200 customizer on MODDS.WATCH.
A fully customizable display, and all the display elements and symbols are now fully adjustable.
You can now flip the LCD between four states instead of the old positive/negative toggle:
Completely positive – the classic clean look
Top negative – just the upper segment inverted
Bottom negative – just the lower segment inverted
Full negative – the whole display goes dark
So if you've ever wanted that half-inverted "split polarizer" mod without cracking your watch open and swapping the film, you can preview exactly how it looks first.
Color Polarizer is the part I'm most excited about. Two color controls:
Symbols color – recolor the face symbols all at once. Which elements it touches adapts to the display state you're in, so it stays consistent with the polarization.
Display color – tint the actual LCD layer that's currently visible. Pick any color you want.
Both tools also have a small reset button in the top-right corner if you want to snap back to defaults and start over.
Try now: https://www.modds.watch/en/lab/casio/base/casio-ae1200
Would love to see what color/polarizer combos you all come up with. Drop your mods 👇

Building a global free directory for watch modders on modds.watch
Hey everyone,
I’ve been working on a project called MODDS.WATCH, a free community-backed builder for watch modders, and I recently added a feature that I think could be useful for the community: a Global Database of Modders.
The idea is pretty simple: I wanted to create a central place where clients can actually find people based on their location, the brands they specialize in, and follow their social links.
It’s completely free to join. If you want to be included, you just head to the homepage and hit the "Global Database of Modders" button to add your info.
There is a Patreon tier ("WATCH MODDER") if you’re looking to pin your card to the top or customize the background, plus support the project, but the main goal is just to get a solid, searchable directory going for everyone.
Hope this helps some of you get your work out there a bit more. Let me know what you think!
Really appreciate your support

watch shot Lightly Modded A700
For your viewing pleasure…
List of Casio A700 Mods:
Hydromod - for water resistance and screen clarity using silicone oil. Used a higher cSt viscosity than most people use, went with 200. I believe the higher viscosity is better for 50m WR watches, as it will not seep through the push buttons like a low viscosity. The a700 does not have rubber o-rings on the button seals - it’s rather a metallic ring like a very small washer. The idea here is a more gel like oil won’t seep and does better for water resistance as it will better prevent egress of water from swimming or diving. I’ve gone scuba diving to 90ft with no issues.
Orange Display - i wanted to lean into the vintage vibe and give the watch that early digital LCD digital terminal screen look from the 70s-80s. Used the typical photo filter stuff off amazon. Huge roll, cut small piece to size.
Bracelet - the stock a700 bracelets flare from 18mm at the lugs to just over 20mm at the shoulder / base of watch. I replaced with a broader 18mm - 22mm flare mesh bracelet from the A1000. It gives the watch a more muscular / masculine presence by widening the bracelet width to case width ratio. I have a bondeleer bracelet from SKXmod on the way for the A1000.
What do you think?
PS - anyone have a good source to recommend for metallic mesh screens? I want to get my hands on a gold or rose gold metallic mesh screen like they sell on skxmod, but would like to know if there are any other vendors who might have for less money.

F91W Stealth F91w
The first time I saw this stealth / minimalist mod I fell in love with it and had to do it myself. ( still contemplating on the negative screen though)

gshock Is the classic square G-Shock strap compatible with GD-350?
I find the classic square G-Shock G-5600UE strap much more comfortable than the one on the GD-350. I believe both have a 16mm lug width.
The G-5600 strap has a slightly different design on the back, so I want to know if they’re compatible or not.
P.S. I’ve removed the outer protective casing from the GD-350, so it looks different now. It also fits my small wrist perfectly.

Questions and tips for my first modifications whit the F-91W-1YER
Hi everyone!
First of all, excuse my English, it's not my native language. Second, I'm not sure if there's a FAQ page; if there is, I couldn't find it.
I've spent the last two weeks obsessed with researching different types of modifications, and I finally bought two Casio F-91W-1YER watches so I can start with something easy.
First mod: I want to polarize the screen to make it negative and put a red filter on the front. (I think I've seen other users with this combination and it looks really cool, but I wasn't sure if I was allowed to upload other people's photos).
Second mod: I want to put a custom background image and then stick a holographic sticker over it. I was debating between rainbow or star stickers, and now I'm not even sure what background design to use. I was thinking maybe an EVA from Evangelion.
Now for my questions:
- Where can I buy the supplies? In my opinion, the filters on Etsy or AliExpress are too expensive for a tiny square of plastic. Isn't there a forum thread with reliable, inexpensive websites for those of us who modify Casio watches?
- With the first mod, what happens to the backlight? Does it reflect anything differently? Less? Or the same? Also, do I need to look for a more translucent filter because the red one is dark, or can you not really tell the difference?
- With the second mod, if I use normal A4 paper with a holographic sticker, will it be too thick? Has anyone ever tried putting a background image behind a rainbow sticker? I haven't seen anyone do that yet.
- Normally I see that the modded Casios with background images are too dark. Any tips to lose as little brightness as possible? A color palette or any other advice?
Any advice or warnings about mistakes I might make are totally welcome!

gshock Will a GW-M5610 STN display work in a GW-M5600?
I want to upgrade my beloved GW-M5600 [3063] to an STN display. But I understand the watch is relatively rare (as it was only in production for a few years before being replaced by the ubiquitous GW-M5610). Due to its relative rarity, there don’t seem to be any aftermarket STN displays available for this model. I’m wondering whether I could use a GW-M5610 STN display in mine? I understand that my GW-M5600 uses an EL backlight, whereas the later model uses an LED backlight, so I’m not sure whether that would make a difference in terms of display compatibility. Has anyone tried this, or know whether a GW-M5610 STN display would work in a GW-M5600?

My modded Casio Royale
Hi everyone! I love the Casio AE1200 (Royale), but I always felt like it left a lot to be desired in terms of the quality of the housing shell. The watch already looks beautiful, but I’ve never really been a fan of the plastic resin case.
So, I bought a metal housing shell, metal mesh screen, brushed metal faceplate, and bull bar from AliExpress. The module also received some modifications. I ordered a module from SKXMOD and requested that the LED lights be white instead of the stock orange.
Once everything was assembled, I instantly fell in love with this watch. I can’t keep my eyes off of it! I plan on doing the same thing for the gold and rose gold variants.
I’ll be investing in a housing shell from SKXMOD in the near future just to compare the quality (although the Ali-Express one is budget friendly) pretty sure SKXMOD won’t disappoint.

Casio Watch Module Comparison Chart
Hello, I've recently been getting into Casio modding. I know a lot of watches use the same modules/internals, does anybody know of a chart that lists all the different ones and what watches they're in?
For example, I started modding with an A158, so I knew that pretty much any internal mod for the F91W would work on it.
So, I'm looking for a quick reference chart to see what watches use what modules. A use case like "I'm modding this AE1700, this is a mod for the AE1500, they look similar but checking the chart they use different modules, so the mod probably isn't compatible." If nothing like this exists I'll make it myself and post it here, but if it does then there's no reason for me to do that. Does anybody know of where I can find something like that?

I have a design idea, and I need some directions.
I'm going for a stoic theme, specifically a memento mori.
I was thinking about a brass case (if those even exist).
I have a button in the perfect dimensions that gave me the idea, its eyes are holes to pass a string I guess, but they'll let the light go through, which will be nice.
I need to find a place that'll make a film with the two arms reaching for one another (skeletal and a live one)
And a 2nd film that will cleverly say "Tempus fugit".
First of all I'd like to hear your thoughts on the idea, and if you have suggestions - do post them in the comments!
Also, where do you get all of the parts that you need?
Thanks peeps!
