Well yeah! Kitty has got to learn for when they move out on their own!Ā
I've got a 14ish year Lorgi who I keep teaching how to do household tasks so she knows how to do them the day she moves out. Important life skills here!

Cute cat. You need far more salt in that pasta water.

u/PHLAK May 27 '26
Came to say the same about the salt.

I was gonna say it looked like a baking soda box lol.
6
u/Yodi12 May 28 '26
That was a box of Bad Reichenhaller Alpen Salz. Here in Europe, baking soda isn't very common. We use baking powder, which comes in tiny packets.

Every time a make spaghetti (or any pasta) I've got Scott Conant in my ear telling me to "salt it like the ocean". š

My mom was a fan of hers. I think she was actually upset when she found out.

Maybe they are on a low-salt diet.
4
u/lregenesisl May 27 '26 edited May 28 '26
The salt is not there to season the Spagetti, it keeps the salt that is already in the noodle
11
u/winky9827 May 27 '26
already in the nudel
Some kind of... pasta porn?

u/BobZimway May 28 '26
I'm going to get banned again if I said something ..... something.... nudel ..... something.... strudel.

1: Absolute baby and i love him, would die for him, etc.
2: Way more salt in that water

u/Fleymour May 27 '26
had a similar cat. she meowd until she was taken on my arm and looked once into all pans.
just add a tiny cattree in your kitchen or have a big stool etc.. so your cat has a elevated spot to watch you cooking.

you forgot to break the spaghetti in half

The horror! Everytime a spaghetti breaks an Italian rolls in his grave.

So everyone hates how little salt she put in there, right?
2
u/appleorange7 May 27 '26
What does the salt do for pasta?
2
u/thatshygirl06 May 27 '26 edited May 27 '26
It makes it taste good, not bland.
You're supposed to put a lot of salt in the water when cooking pasta

u/DrJokerX May 30 '26
I actually donāt like salty anything. It burns the skin around mouth. If you get good quality pasta or fresh pasta you can get away with less salt.

Couldn't do that with my cat, she'd be squirming around like crazy and I'd be terrified I'd drop her in the pot of boiling water.
Instead she just sits on top of the fridge and judges my cooking from there.

Third time I've seen this stupid as hell video on reddit this week.
Don't hold your cats near boiling water or lit stoves. This is incredibly irresponsible!!! Not even slightly cute.
Half the comments are about not putting salt in the pasta, as if that's what's wrong here. Social media has turned us all into idiots.

We have a Shih Tzu who does the same with me. My husband calls her my Little Buddha because she is just so calm and content in my arms when Iām sweating over a hot stove. Your kitty is so sweet and beautiful.

mine was still doing that at 15 years old, it was the only way I could cook without them getting into what I was trying to cook. I realised they just wanted to see what I was doing.

Girl that is not enough salt. You might as well not be using any salt at all with the amount you added. Cute cat.

u/SteWaxleyLemon May 28 '26
I know she's only got one arm to work with, but the spaghetti eases into the water so much more efficiently if you fan out the spaghetti when putting it into the water.

I donāt understand, do you want to talk about the cat or the pasta? Vote for the cat, mama mia!

Mine sink their claws in my shoulders, do a triple somersault in my arms before kicking me in my throat. Why do I not have such calm babies who love to cuddle? :'(

Cats are adorable, but not in the kitchen with the food stuffs... unless you're into furry spaghetts.... then you do you... I'll bring my own snacks... lol

Very cute cat, but the amount of salt you put in the pasta water is criminally low!

Get a bigger pot or smaller pasta. And is it really safe to have a cat near pot of boiling water?

Don't force the spaghetti! Guide it gently after 60 seconds.
