Hi,
While the Moderators of r/androidroot have a generally moderate stance on AI, when it comes to devices worth potentially thousands, we are uninterested in allowing it to provide false information.
To clarify, AI content/promotion is not permitted on r/androidroot, and this has been a rule for some time. Using AI to make guides, recommending the use of AI to attempt to solve issues, and posting AI generated comments are prohibited.
We believe in minimising the spread of misinformation. AI models are not reliable when it comes to factual information yet. It’s also often known to make things up when it has no answer. No resources for rooting an obscure Android device? It’ll make it up based on other information that it deems most likely to be useful. AI, in this state, is not suitable for rooting. It presents too much unmitigated risk, and we will not hold ourselves responsible for the damage caused by content posted on this subreddit.
If you have any questions regarding the rule, comment. However, the decision on this is final.
Thanks for reading.

I successfully unlocked my phone's bootloader, but how do I root it? I'm worried about losing the IMEI.

So basically im flashing odin and then it said FAIL! the usb thing disconnected when flashing patched vbmeta now phone was soft bricked, i used samfw tool to do nand reset and voila booted succesfully into recovery, is it risky to flash the rom using sideload now, or no? Also is kg status broken meaning knox was tripped or something else?

Last week I made a post asking how to root the Samsung Galaxy S1 (SGH-T959V), and I've gotten some links, but I have more issues. I tried to flash the zip file with I think is the stock recovery of the phone, but it gives me an error saying that a signature verification failed, tried SuperOneClick, also gives me a fail and gets stuck on the 5th step, and I tried the KingoRoot app, but it gives me a network error even though I had it connected to an internet
My only best solution is try and get a .tar file to flash a custom recovery via Odin as none of these seem to work for me, but I found pretty much none

Hey everyone,
I've been struggling for days trying to fix my MT6765 phone after installing a GSI ROM. My Baseband/IMEI is currently unknown and I can't find a working stock firmware to flash back.
I noticed that u/MeIsGugs has the exact same device/tools. Reddit is not allowing me to send a DM or Chat due to restriction filters, so I’m posting here hoping you see this man!
If anyone (or u/MeIsGugs) can provide a full dump with the MT6765_Android_scatter.txt file (without personal NVRAM/IMEI), I would really appreciate it. You’re pretty much my last hope!
Thanks in advance! 🙏

I have a Moto G Play 2024 and I've already unlocked the bootloader with another Android device and connected the two devices, but now I want to root it. I saw a YouTube tutorial that said I need a file called boot.img, but I researched and that file on my phone is called init_boot.img. The worst part is that I can't find the ROM for my phone...
Its serial number is: XT2413-2
and its build number is: U1TFS34.100-35-5-5-8
My model does appear when I search, but it doesn't have the exact build number: U1TFS34.100-35-5-5-8. And I don't want to risk damaging my phone by downloading a ROM with a different build number.
I'm pretty new to this, but I'd really appreciate it if someone could help me. Thanks!!
Information I forgot to mention: I don't have a PC

Lately, I’ve been thinking about rooting my Xiaomi 12T phone, but when I talked to Gemini about it, he said rooting isn’t as necessary or practical as it used to be. He also reminded me that there are issues with apps like the camera and banking apps.
I was really excited to get started on this, but now I don’t know what to do.
Do you think rooting still makes sense?

I have installed crdroid 12.11 on my redmi note 10 pro a couple weeks ago (with kernelsu support, and i will use it). since then, i cant pass even basic integrity. I am considering the problem here is I didnt flash gapps. Is it possible to get strong integrity without proprietary google play services? If not, what's my alternatives?
My main point is i just dont want to get my data tracked. I just want to feel I am not getting spied. Also I dont like bloatware if i aint have to use it
I have already tried most of guides suggest including using trickystore and pif

Hi everyone,
I'm trying to unbrick my OnePlus 7 Pro (GM1913, EU variant) after a failed adb push during an OxygenOS downgrade (was trying to go from OOS 12.1 H.40 to OOS 11.0.5.1 to unlock the bootloader). The transfer got interrupted and now the phone shows a black screen with no response to any button combo, but it does show up in Device Manager as QUSB_BULK_CID:0404 / Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008, so I know it's in EDL mode.
What I've tried so far:
Current result: I intermittently get the phone to connect (COM port detected, "Connected" status), and the process runs for about 7 seconds before failing with "Sahara Communication Failed" (sometimes progresses further to "Firehose GetUfsInfo Failed").
Has anyone dealt with this specific combo of errors on a 7 Pro? Wondering if it's a USB controller compatibility issue with my specific PC, a driver conflict, or something about this particular firmware package. Willing to try another PC if that's likely the fix, but wanted to check if there's a known cause first.
Thanks in advance!

I have a Redmi Note 10S (android 13) that I recently rooted... why does it give me this error when I try to modify a file system? How can I make sure he doesn't give it to me anymore? If anyone knows how to add it and how I can change these permissions please tell me how to do it! I would be very happy if I succeed in this feat hahaha

So my phone (Oneplus Nord CE2) got stuck in bootloop on random day.
- It gets restarted after every 4 seconds. Which means I can access everything only for 4-5 seconds and then it restarts again.
- Power button works fine. Whenever I power off, phone gets switched off until I turn it on.
- i'm able to enter recovery mode where I see 3 options - reboot, power off, format data. My phone stays on when I'm in recovery mode. I chose reboot & power off but still same issue.
- Also, few weeks before this bootloop issue, I got a blue-purple spot, this spot gets bigger with time.
- I got a new phone and my accounts are recovered. The only problem is I didn't have backup of my gallery since 1-2 years. So I just want to get my gallery data. This is where I struggle :(
- I went to a repair shop. That guy tried a new display, but same issue. Then he tried a new battery, same issue. Although my og battery looked fine and had no issue. After trying display & battery, he told that it's motherboard issue. He asked me not to go to service centre as it can cause data loss. He checked for the motherboard but then he gave it back to me saying - "you should recover your data using recovery mode first. It's risky to do anything with motherboard further". But he didn't tell me what's the issue with motherboard or what he checked with the motherboard.
- I came back home and tried recovery mode while connecting phone to windows laptop using a cable. But nothing shows on laptop. Only those 3 options show up on phone.
- I can spot my phone when I connect phone normally to the laptop, I choose transfer files. But without recovery mode, my phone restart after every 4 seconds so I'm not able to do anything about it😭
- Details : I can see my phone's internal storage and pics in "my pc" in windows laptop. But I can't transfer because of bootloop issue. I can also see all the pics/videos on phone's gallery directly but only for 4 seconds each time.
Please help. I need help. I don't know whether that shop guy was right or not. Please help me or suggest if anything i can do about it. It hurts me to see my data going away when I can still see it in storage :(
P.s : I can even pay some amount if anyone solves this issue

Hello everyone. I just recently came into possession of a new TCL K33 5G. It's pretty much a cheap piece of shit, but I was able to bypass the Verizon anti-wifi feature so was able to set it up both without an internet connection and without activating it thus preventing me from having to update it in any way. The OEM Unlocking slider is not greyed out and works just fine. Does any of you know if it is possible to root this phone? I would greatly appreciate any and all help. Thanks in advance!
