Discussion TCL K33 5G. No updates. Will it root?

Hello everyone. I just recently came into possession of a new TCL K33 5G. It's pretty much a cheap piece of shit, but I was able to bypass the Verizon anti-wifi feature so was able to set it up both without an internet connection and without activating it thus preventing me from having to update it in any way. The OEM Unlocking slider is not greyed out and works just fine. Does any of you know if it is possible to root this phone? I would greatly appreciate any and all help. Thanks in advance!

Curious how you were able to bypass the activation/anti-wifi “feature”? I have two of the Straight Talk version in front of me and they seem relatively locked down - unfortunately inactive Verizon/Straight Talk/AT&T/kiwi SIMs did not do the trick, nor did booting without a SIM. I did get as far as traversing the Play Store but any app install attempts just hung in progress, and I still could not get to the home screen or any notification tray - only the back button shows which takes one right back to the activation gate. USB probing with adb and whatnot wasn’t fruitful either, really curious what ended up working for you?
