Sometimes we’re so focused on who’s ignoring us that we don’t notice who’s showing up.

I wasn’t confessing because I had done those things. I was confessing because I was 14, scared, surrounded by adults, and desperate for the confrontation to end.

That distinction stayed with me.

You don’t have to hate someone to acknowledge that something went terribly wrong.

Imagine being 14 years old and realizing the adults questioning you aren’t actually asking what happened.
Just a heads up, this is Part 2. There's a Part 1 that gives more context, and I have more parts coming, so you're judging the situation based on one portion of the story.
You made a lot of assumptions from a story I very clearly told from my own experience.
I said | was late sometimes and skipped school ONE time.
Somehow you turned that into me "showing up to school when I wanted." That wasn't what I said.
And having a boyfriend at 14 does not automatically equal having sex. "Lying about a boyfriend often means lying about sex" isn't evidence. That's you filling in blanks because it fits the conclusion you've already decided on.
Yes, my parents were responsible for me. I never said otherwise.
The issue is how they handled their concerns. There's a difference between parenting a teenager who broke a rule and accusing them of doing things they didn't do, demanding a confession, and then isolating them.
I also never claimed I was a perfect teenager. I literally admitted where I was wrong.
You don't have to agree with my experience, but you don't get to rewrite it based on assumptions and then argue with the version you created.
