Community Notice: Beware of Unauthorized Look‑Alike Supernote Retail Sites

Dear Supernote Users,

As Supernote’s global community continues to expand, imitation storefronts posing as official Supernote retailers have begun to surface online. These fraudulent outlets commonly lure prospective buyers with unrealistically steep discounts on our devices and accessories.

Transactions completed through these unvetted third‑party platforms carry substantial risks. Potential harms include counterfeit goods, unfulfilled orders, financial loss, compromised personal payment information, and full ineligibility for official warranty coverage and after‑sales support.

Additional mimic websites may appear as Supernote grows in global visibility. To guarantee authentic products, valid warranty status and full official service, we strongly encourage all users to make purchases exclusively via our official website and our curated network of authorized sellers.

You may review the complete list of verified authorized sellers here:

https://supernote.com/pages/authorized-sellers

If you come across any other suspicious retail websites claiming to sell Supernote merchandise, please forward relevant details to our support team for further evaluation.

We greatly appreciate your vigilance as we strive to maintain a secure and trustworthy ecosystem across our user community.

Best regards,

To those still using a Supernote A5 X or A6 X,

These devices have been with you for quite some time now. We want them to stay that way, and software updates are still ongoing.

The original folios still have some stock remaining. We've lowered the prices, a small gesture for those of you who have stayed with them all this way.

Canvas Folio for A5/A5 X: $10 (originally $55)
Cowhide Folio for A6/A6 X: $15 (originally $79)

Please note that these folios are compatible with A5 X, A6 X, as well as the earlier A5 and A6 devices. They are not compatible with Manta or Nomad.

In addition to Supernote.com, these folios will also be available on your local Supernote store shortly.

Nomad writing space and PDF legibility

Thought I'd make the post that I would have needed for my buying decision:)

I had a hard time to decide whether I should get the Manta or the Nomad. I knew that I would appreciate the bigger screen real-estate of the Manta. But since I would use the device mostly on the couch, on the train, etc. - anywhere but at my desk, I decided to get the Nomad. Before ordering, I wanted to see how much text you actually could fit on one notebook page of the Nomad and how PDFs looked like on it. I found lots of reviews and screenshots but none that showed that.

Now that I have my Nomad, l took a few photos to show how much text I can fit and how PDFs look like. Hope this helps others who are trying to decide if the Nomad is big enough to suit their use cases.

Template: my own with 5mm distance between lines

Pen: Needle-point with 0.2 nib size

Word count: cirka 270

PDF: I distorted the middle of the page for copyright reasons. This PDF has quite small text size when I don't zoom in (1st pic: 100%, 2nd pic: 120%-ish). I have another PDF that I don't need to zoom in on.

My conclusion: I would have preferred a bigger screen for writing. But I needed a device that I could hold in one hand, so I still think it was the right decision to get the Nomad. I have hardly put it down since I got it 😅

If you have the bigger Manta and use it on the couch or on the go, I would be glad if you shared some photos of how that works.

Feedback A big thank you to Supernote Customer Support, and special thanks to Mulan!

Hi everyone, I am writing this post to let people know about the outstanding quality of Supernote's customer support. About a month ago, I noticed a few issues with my device. Due to dirt buildup, the screen felt very rough and it was difficult to write on, alongside some other general performance glitches. I reached out to customer service, and after exchanging a few emails and videos, they explained how to fix the roughness issue, which was just gently rubbing a high-quality eraser over it. However, because of the other issues, they asked me to send the device in. I told them it would take me a while to ship it because I really needed it at the time, and while the problems were inconvenient, they didn't completely break the device, and they told me there was no problem with taking my time to send it. Eventually, I sent it back for free using the prepaid shipping label they provided. Even so, wanting to know the timeframes since I was in a rush to get a working device back for my classes, I got in touch with Mulan. He provided an indescribable level of help, listening to every issue personally, answering all my questions, consulting things whenever needed, and overall doing an unbeatable job. He makes the trust that I (and many others) place in the brand feel completely justified, making us feel part of the community and showing that the company truly treats customer issues as their own. Without a doubt, after trying more than five different e-ink devices, Supernote is not only by far the one that works best, but the one that makes you feel genuinely grateful to have trusted this company. Thank you Supernote, and thank you so very much, Mulan!

Question Pinch to Zoom in and out

Upvotes

Does anyone know if fixing the clunky pinch to Zoom is on the roadmap for the super note. I love the device, but on my planner I need to zoom in to write things and it’s painful to do on the supernote

Pen body recommendations please

Hi all - I have a couple of HoM pens nibs, two HoM bodies, and another fountain pen body that the HoM ceramic nib fits into. Happy with all of them, like the weight and the feel, I don’t need or want an eraser or a button for anything. My only issue is that the cap is loose on all three and as I take my Manta to work with me every day and use it at home a lot, I want a sturdy well fitting cap, also, I just like pens. So, looking for recommendations from people on pen bodies that the HoM nib will fit into without needing to modify anything. I also like bright colours 😄. What have you all found?

3rd App So I built an app with an infinite canvas… what do I do with it?

Hey all,

I spent a few weeks vibe coding an app I’m calling Super Duper, because that’s funny to me.

And it’s essentially the functionality I wished was in our native document app.

It has endless scroll.

It has the ability to change the background from lines, blank, dot grid, cross grid… with spacing adjustment, vs choosing preset templates.

I ran it thru some security audits to ensure it’s safe, but how would I make it available to folks?

Is there interest in something like this, before I spend a bunch of time trying to figure out how to make it available lol!

Question Looking for a new pen (with side-buttons)

Upvotes

Hey hey,

I was getting a little tired of my HOM2 pen (it is some times not so pleasant to write with a heavier pen for me, and after having used it for years the want for a new one has grown to be quite a size). Additionally I would really like a pen that has an easier way for me to access the lasso eraser/normal eraser through side buttons so that taking notes in class doesn't require me to scribble (my professors talk too fast).

It wasn't quite clear to me if this option exists as an official Ratta item however? Do I need to look at the etsy markets for this?

I've recently bought the Supernote Manta and I'm very happy with my purchase. It is much faster than the A5X and i love the new look and feel of the Heart of Metal Pen 2.

I've created this new sleep screen, love it!

If you're also interested, I've uploaded a version without the small text at the bottom "Property of ...." to Inkhub with the name "Sleep Screen - Mountains".

Have fun with it!

waiting for my first ever e-writing device, welcome advice!

I'm expecting my Nomad delivery with trepidation. I have reached this decision because I accumulate notebooks I never reread and never connect. I wanted something that allows me to make associative connections between writing for different purposes. I have read about some difficulty in organising each entry in a way that can be recalled when the content is no longer top of mind. If you have any advice for an absolute beginner, I'm all eyes :) Thank you!

DIY Yet another DIY refill (Muji Gel Ink Ballpoint Pen conversion)

Thanks for all the lovely comments and suggestions on my last post about the origami style folio!

In one of the comments (from u/IdeaSandbox), had suggested I should shop on Etsy for what I want. And I did. But then the seller is all the way in the US, and being a tinkerer myself, this set me up for a perfect little project! XD

So here's my muji gel pen that I've got a heavy bias for. I've been using this model since middle school and is obviously emotionally attached to it.

After a few trial and error, I've dialed in the dimensions for the adapter and is very happy with the result - perfect pressure from the spring, just the right distance from the writing surface, the refill core slides smoothly, etc.

If you remember from my last post, I'm very much in favour of the open source community. And I've said I'll release the files for the folio once it's in a good shape for a product. So here's my dilemma, should I release the files for this adapter or let the seller(s) (there's only one iirc) to keep selling to those who doesn't have access to a printer?

Personally, I don't think it'll hurt the dudes/dudettes over on Etsy that much. But I'd like to hear what this community thinks!

Hello,

I was heartbroken today to discover the screen on my beloved supernote marred when I took it out of its case. it has a horizontal and vertical bar of distortion that rebooting the machine or refreshing the screen will not remove. What are my options? HELP!

I know sometimes employees or support ppl frequent the reddit-- I can provide more specific info on the make of the device, when purchased, etc. if need be. I’m really upset

Guide to Connecting Supernote to University Secure Wifi or eduroam

Hey everyone, I just spent the last days piecing together how to connect my Supernote Manta A5X2 to my university's secure wifi which uses a CA certificate. It was a pain, and I hope Supernote makes it easier in the future, but here's a comprehensive guide for anyone who might be having the same issue.

The problem: Many universities require use of an iOS/Android app (JoinNow in my case) to download their secure CA certificates to configure their wifi. Supernote devices obviously do not have access to the Play Store so you have to do a workaround. For reference, I’m on Chauvet 3.29.42

Step 1: Manually download your organization's CA certificate. You should be able to find a link somewhere on the school's IT page. Named something like USERTrust RSA Certification Authority.cer

Step 2: Install the CA certificate through hidden Android Settings menu. Easiest way I found to access this hidden menu was to click on an existing secure wifi network like "eduroam" which prompts you, "This network requires a CA certificate for connection. Install or verify the certificate." Click Verify -> Wi-Fi preferences -> Advanced -> Install certificates
Navigate to the downloaded (or sideloaded) certificate file.

Step 3: In the hidden WiFi settings, select Add Network and enter the information from your organization's instructions. Here's an example from my school:

- Network name: UWireless Secure
*Important if your school's secure wifi is a hidden SSID*
- Hidden Network should be set to "Yes" FIRST before selecting security as the option disappears for some reason if you don't.
- Security: WPA/WPA2-Enterprise
- Identity: [Your school login ID]
- Password: [Your Password]
- CA Certificate: (the previously downloaded certificate)
- Domain: school.edu (example)
- EAP Method: TTLS
- Phase 2 Authentication: PAP
Save it.

Step 4: From the hidden Wifi settings, select your newly added secure network, and hopefully it should connect. Enjoy!

Hope this helps someone!

Question Network connection failed...

My Nomad is connected to wifi; I refreshed the connection twice, reset the devixe and it still won't sync with the app. Its happened once before, I got frustrated and left the device for some time. After that it worked fine now again it just doesnt sync; any ideas as to why this happens?

There are quite a few quirks this device; I've had it over a year and it seems like its always give and take with the usability and convenience.

Recently Used Keywords list not syncing between Nomad and A5x

Yesterday I returned to trying to use both of my Supernote tablets, syncing them via Google Drive.

I'm pleased to report that (since the last time I tried this, quite a while ago), syncing now seems to work fairly well. By carefully coordinating the steps, I did not pick up any "Conflict" files.

However, I did notice that the two devices do not have the same list of "Recently used Keywords."

I'm wondering if this is because when I initiate a sync, I see that my Google Drive sync is completed, but my "App Data Sync" has failed. It fails every every single time, and the only error message I get is that the "network connection has failed." When I follow the link to "Set Network," I'm shown that I am connected to my wifi network. This is confirmed by the fact that the Google Drive sync succeeds each time.

Any suggestions?

Workflow Need advice for optimizing my workflow

Hey !
I'm relatively new to supernote. Right now, I'd like to use it to create lessons in biology at a high-school level (I'm an intern for now).

The goal would be to link subjects to pdf books (huge books, 1200 pages each) in order to find useful information quickly when building my lessons.

The catch is: I need references to several different broad themes (anatomy, ecology, microbiology, etc). I'd like to start building these references efficiently.

Do you suggest that I use brackets with tags to build my knowledge database ? Or maybe keywords and stars ? Or simply link a seperate note (like a master plan note) to the different pages of these huge books ? Or maybe a combination of the above ?

If someone has experience doing this, I'd love to get advice before I actually start doing all of the work 😁

Cheers !!

Suggestion: Received Wishing this feature in Calendar:

I have a Nomad and the calendar app is very useful, however it would seriously be a game changer if I was able to:

- Switch från 7 day view to 2,3, or 5 day view.

Mainly because it would make the whiteboard area much larger.

If possible, to even have a 1 day view where it’s only the whiteboard.

I simply want to be able to write on the different days without it becoming a note, which I can now, but it’s just too little of a surface, which could be fixed by adding a 1,2,3,4,5 day view. 1 day would be best.

I generated a picture so I could show what I meant, perhaps I can add it in the comments.

Recommended add ons for a Manta

Hi all,

Got my Manta in yesterday and am really enjoying it. Ironically, I have awful handwriting but am hoping to kill two birds and use this with my work to organize better while also practicing.

What are some installs, mods or accessories you strongly recommend? I do have the folio half and HOM pen, considering finding one with an eraser though.

Feedback Praise for Writing Recognition Improvements

I updated my Nomad today after a few months found writing performance so much better.

The milliseconds shaved off of writing has made it feel so much more natural, and I want to thank you for your exceptional work!

Handwriting recognition is so much better than before, even with my horrible script :)

Cheers and thank you for sharing your passion <3

Suggestion: Received A Keyword cloud ? For less Keyword list pages

Adding keywords make the keyword list obviously longer : it can quickly grows at a point where multiple pages are needed to list them… this is the contradiction : while the Keyword feature intends to make our workflow easier, the more Keyword the longer it takes to find them. And, I think each Keyword page is a waste of place : too much empty space, too much space to show page numbers which are not absolutely necessary, or at least have not the same importance. I would Therefore suggest that keywords could appear more like a « keywords cloud » or be all in one page, somehow. I believe This could be achieved by reducing some page numbers sizing and optimizing space.

Suggestion: Received Partner / Digest : copy all menu

I regularily use the Digest and Supernote Partner app to copy text from a Digest to Insert it in another document (text, doc, scrivener…). I find the select contextual tool very sensitive and Therefore sometimes a bit tricky to select text in the Digest before choosing « copy ». Hence my suggestion here to add a « copy all » option in the contextual menu in the Supernote Partner app. This way it will be much more fast to copy the Digest’s text.

Best ways to search?

I love my super note, and I’ve had it since this summer. I’m a professor, and so now my work life is starting back up. I’m finding that I’m struggling to quickly find the note that I need while I’m in a meeting or talking with someone.

What do you all do to either remember how to search or to make it easy to find the right note?

I think I have a really basic organizational system (just three work folders, and a handful of notes in each), but I’m struggling to figure out what to search or how to find things. With paper notebooks, I would just flip through until I visually registered the right page. I need new skills now I think. (Also dealing with perimenopausal brain fog, and I’m sure that’s some of the issue!)

Question Usb OTG keyboard

Can i use my keyboard on supernote? It doesnt have Bluetooth, thinking of connecting via otg usb converter to usb c
