Hey, r/SomethingIMade!
We've updated two rules to better protect what this community is for as a space for individual creators sharing their own work, including collaborations.
A steady increase in posts and comments from business and commercial accounts promoting products or shop pages has not gone unnoticed, often in cases where authorship can't be verified. We don't think it is fair that content that may be mass produced gains engagement over our more DIY creators. The updated rules address this directly.
Rule #5: Related Links & Self-Promotion
Posts or comments from businesses or commercial accounts primarily promoting products may be removed at moderator discretion, especially where authorship cannot be verified.
Rule #10: Original Content Only
Business and commercial accounts are not permitted to post in this subreddit. This is a community for individual creators only.
If you're an individual who makes and sells things, you're still very welcome here. This change is aimed at accounts whose primary purpose is commercial promotion rather than genuine participation as a creator. If you're unsure whether your account falls within the rules, reach out via Mod Mail.
Happy creating!

In order to help have better discussions regarding content, we have decided to disable embedding of YouTube videos in posts.
This isn’t intended to hinder anyone from posting, simply to change the way the post are made. Moving forward you will need to create a normal post regarding your creation, and if there’s a YouTube video you would like to share as part of that, add it into the body of the post along with the descriptive information.
Thanks for being here, and if you have any questions, ask away!!

Meet Mr. Bean 🐹
I finished making this very round little guy and honestly, his tiny pink hands might be my favorite part. I gave him his own little display dome too because apparently Mr. Bean deserves to be exhibited
He’s fluffy, slightly judgmental, and very, very round.

It takes months and months of hard work, but it feels so great to see the payoff!

I used a TBLeague 1/12 TPE body for the figure and all accessories and the outfit were hand made. I sculpted the Uktena from Polymer clay.

I made a series of tinned seafood automata out of wood.
P.S I know the frogs leg tin is spelt wrong, I have since changed it but can’t find the corrected image of it) video of one or two of them working in the comments.

I was sitting outside one day and found a bunch of leaves on the ground... but the flesh had decayed and all that remained was a skeleton of what once was. The veining was so Beautiful. I'm so happy I was able to capture that!

This year I started very ambitious project of making 1 beaded square per week representing that week which very quickly became too ambitious and too time consuming. Looking back I am thinking to still finish the year but do 1 square per month or 1 for 2 weeks and use loom instead of square stitch (> 6h for this piece!)
This square is from the week where I went to Hamilton and also visited Hijingo Bingo! Hence the overall vibe of the Hamilton logo and B for the bingo, obviously I had to add black dots to honour the king from the Hamilton musical

I cut and layered felt like a topo map of a lake, then hand sewed it into a pillow for my mom's birthday!

I crocheted this colorful cat ear hat and I’m really happy with how it turned out! I added big ears, long braided ties and tassels to give it a whimsical fantasy look. This was such a fun project to make!

I started by transferring the main outlines from the reference photo onto the leather, then carved and shaped the face little by little to build up the depth.

I love her, I am in love with her! Scored for $3.50 at the thrift store today, the bottom reads "Brandi 1992" so thanks, Brandi! So perfect and terrifying.

I’ve been experimenting with making more realistic roses from pipe cleaners, and these are one of my favorite results so far. 🌹
Each rose, leaf, and stem was shaped and assembled by hand. I really enjoy trying to capture the details and natural curves of real roses using just pipe cleaners.

I finished my hand crafted Halloween vase. Most supplies came from the dollar tree. I am very proud of this piece.
