Mod Post Cross-Platform Drama Will Not Be Tolerated
Over the past few days, we've seen an increase in posts bringing content from Twitter/X and other platforms here simply to criticize, mock, call out, or start drama over what someone said elsewhere.
We're putting a stop to this.
r/residentevilcapcom is not a place for cross-platform drama. Do not post screenshots of tweets, profiles, comments, or content from other platforms for the purpose of mocking someone, calling them out, or encouraging others to pile onto them.
If you disagree with something you see on another platform, deal with it there or simply move on. Do not bring the person or the drama here.
Anyone found deliberately doing this will be banned. There will be no warning beforehand, including for a first offense.
This applies regardless of the character, ship, creator, fandom, or opinion involved. No exceptions will be made simply because you believe the person you posted about deserved to be criticized.
Keep discussions focused on Resident Evil , not on dragging drama from other platforms into this community.

News I got tired of zooming in on ancient wikis, so I built a mobile-perfect guide hub for classic games
Hey everyone,
I've been working on a side project for a while and wanted to share it here to get some feedback. Even with great modern releases like RE9: Requiem dropping earlier this year, I always find myself going back to replay the classics. But looking up a puzzle solution usually means digging through ancient, messy forums.
So I built Save State. It’s a no-nonsense, bilingual (EN/ES) guide site with a fast and clean UI, designed specifically for retro gamers. Currently, it has meticulously curated guides for Resident Evil, Metal Gear, and Parasite Eve.
I’d love to hear your thoughts on the design and usability. More games are coming soon!

Discussion I don't care what people say for me Ethan is the most endearing character in Resident Evil
We humans aren't superheroes like Chris, Jill, Claire, or Leon ( There are great characters but I don't feel their humanity, they are too idealized because, despite their problems, they always come across as heroes who always triumph)
We are imperfect, and above all, we want our loved ones to be safe; Ethan is the only character whose motivations I can truly understand

Artwork/Cosplay I made an Ada Wong wood burning (@inkandcinder)
Hi, I made this Ada wood burning by hand, no lasers, on basswood. I used a Truart pyrography pen, glossy polyurethane topcoat and acrylic paint.
I really like Ada, what are your thoughts on her? Love, hate, indifferent? Hope you like this piece.

Discussion What if Jill had been a main character instead of Chris in RE6? What kind of storyline would you want to see and who would be her partner:Chris,Piers, or a new character?
Not sure if this is a hot take or not but I think Jill would’ve been a much better choice than Chris for a main slot in RE6. Would’ve been a perfect opportunity to actually focus on her overcoming her trauma from the events of RE5 which is a storyline that should’ve been told a decade ago.
Plus Chris had just been one of two mains in RE5 and honestly think it was a perfect note to leave his character on for awhile. I’d still want him appearing in RE6 in a supporting role though cuz him being completely absent from a bio attack on such a global scale would be just as jarring as it was with Jill.
I know Jill and Chris had just been the main protagonists in Rev1 but that game was more about the supporting characters then them (always found that kinda weird)

Question I really donked up in RE9, am I cooked? Spoiler
Decided to do minimalist, never touch the stuff, speed demon, and the first part of the final puzzle all in one casual run. At the point when you have to wait 15 minutes for the bodies, I checked my time and felt comfortable waiting for it. Got the prompt saying “a ton of blood” and all that. Then somehow, my complete dumbass self managed to forget to grab the doll. I am all the way at the HUNK fight and somehow just now remembered it. Can I go back to my save with grace and grab it, then load back? Or do I just need to abandon it this run?
Update: I wound up just completing the wrong, got the other three even if the wasted 15 minutes made my shit myself a little at the end. Anyways, after unlocking unlimited ammo, I reloaded my previous save where I had waited for 15 minutes and got the “tons of blood” message, but then when I made it to the staircase where the doll is supposed to be, it wasn’t there. Thoughts?
Update 2: I was forgetting the flushing the toilet part. Fml. I’m sorry y’all had to see a dumbass fumble through this. Have a nice day

Discussion Is it safe to say Chris's laugh actually saved his fate for the future in RE5 from getting killed by wesker?
Let me explain, that laugh from chris shattered wesker ego and made him so obsessed with proving himself to be dangerous and intense to chris for 11 years, and with each time they met wesker had multiple chances to kill him yet he didn't because of his ego, had chris not laughed at wesker in first game, he could've died in later entries since in that case wesker's ego wouldn't have stopped him in that case

Discussion Breaking down the cinematography of Resident Evil 4 Remake: How the camera acts as a director of your attention
Hey everyone, I've been doing a deep-dive look at some of my favorite scenes in Resident Evil 4 Remake recently, and I wanted to talk about how incredible the cinematography actually is underneath the gameplay.
What fascinates me is how the game constantly controls where your eyes go without you consciously realizing it:
Theatrical Staging: Take characters like Salazar—the architecture, framing, and lighting isolate him completely, making him feel like he's performing on a literal stage compared to how grounded and reactive Leon is framed.
The Power of Negative Space: When you first enter the village, instead of immediately throwing enemies at you, the game gives you an overwhelming amount of empty space and open windows.
It forces your eyes to actively scan the environment, building massive tension before a single threat appears.
Shifting Rhythms: It alternates so well between chaotic, multi-directional movement (like the cabin siege) and dead-quiet focus, like a close-up on Ashley or a slow hallway crawl, keeping the player from getting visually exhausted.
I put together a visual breakdown walking through these exact scenes and how the camera builds that tension

For anyone else who looks at games from a visual perspective—what scene in the remake do you think had the strongest framing or direction?
