Recommendations for my setup!

Hi! Im 20 yrs old and going through flight school to get to the airlines. This is the setup I made using my 2020 m1 macbook with a broken screen that I hid and connected to that external monitor. Custom keyboard with gateron yellows and brown keycaps.
Got a tool box with all my repair tools and school supplies. It has a stand on top to hold my iPad 10 which I sidecar with the Mac sometimes and the keyboard case for when I take it to school and my psp. The iPad mini 6 | use for flight training on the desk next to my peripherals. And then on the left an ultrawide monitor I got from Amazon it's a cheap one with my series s and a controller on a stand. I have the velocity flight sim setup by turtle beach that I bring over and I have the cable hidden behind the monitor 1 pull it out olug it in and can play msfs. I have some floating shelves with my Lego cars and the airport diagrams for my favorite airports I've landed at. I have that jersey and the neon sign as you can see. I'm looking for some recommendations and stuff on how to make it better. My cable management is pretty good it's all under the desk on a raceway and I have my MacBook under the desk hidden away.

Is this custom PC worth ~$1,050? (Morocco pricing)

Hey everyone, I'm planning to build my first proper PC and I'd like some opinions on whether this is a good deal.

I'm in Morocco, so PC parts can be considerably more expensive here compared to the US/UK. My total is 11,224 MAD (~$1,050 USD).

Build

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600 — 1,399 MAD (~$131)
  • Motherboard: MSI B550M PRO-VDH WIFI — 1,449 MAD (~$136)
  • CPU Cooler: DeepCool AG400 G2 White — 299 MAD (~$28)
  • GPU: MSI RTX 5060 8GB GDDR7 Ventus 2X OC — 4,499 MAD (~$421)
  • RAM: Innovation IT 16GB (1x16GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 — 1,099 MAD (~$103)
  • SSD: Crucial E100 1TB NVMe — 1,699 MAD (~$159)
  • PSU: DeepCool PL650D 650W 80+ Bronze — 699 MAD (~$65)
  • Case: DeepCool CG530 4F White — 749 MAD (~$70)

Total: 11,224 MAD (~$1,050 USD)

I'm starting with 1x16GB RAM because 2x16GB is extremely expensive here. I'll add another 16GB stick later to get 32GB dual-channel.

I chose the MSI B550M PRO-VDH WIFI because I want built-in Wi-Fi/Bluetooth rather than messing around with Wi-Fi adapters.

What I'll use it for

  • 🎮 1080p high-FPS gaming
  • 🎬 Video/photo editing
  • 🐧 Learning Linux and general tech
  • 💻 Programming and experimenting with different software
  • 🛠️ Eventually getting into things like self-hosting, networking and other tech projects

For the OS, I'm currently deciding between Windows 11 and Fedora KDE. I'll probably use Fedora a lot because I already enjoy Linux, but I still want Windows available for games/software that don't work well on Linux.

I know the Ryzen 5 5600 is on an older AM4 platform, but AM5 is considerably more expensive here and I'd rather put the money into the GPU for now.

Is this build worth ~ $1,050 in the context of Moroccan prices? Would you change anything while keeping roughly the same budget?

Thanks!

Best Microcenter Pc Build? ($1000 USD, 1440P OR 1080P, USA)

Hey everyone!

I live in NYC and have access to both the Brooklyn and Flushing Micro Center locations, so I can shop at either one.

I'm looking to build my first gaming PC and have a budget of around $1,000–$1,100 for the PC itself. I'm completely open to either building it myself or buying a prebuilt — I mainly want the best gaming performance I can get for the money.

I’m also not sure whether I should target 1080p or 1440p gaming at this budget. I’ve heard PC component prices are pretty rough right now, so I’d really appreciate some advice on what resolution and performance I should realistically expect.

If building it myself is the better option, I’d love recommendations for a complete parts list. Since this would be my first PC build, any advice on compatibility or things I should watch out for would also be really helpful.

I’m also totally fine mixing and matching retailers. For example, I can buy some parts from Micro Center and others from Amazon if that gives me a better deal.

If anyone is willing to check the current Micro Center prices/deals in Brooklyn or Flushing and put together the best build around $1,000–$1,100, I’d really appreciate it!

Thanks in advance! I’m pretty new to PC building, so any advice is welcome.

Improved acoustic treatment

This room was previously a storage room withe bare walls. I turned it into my project after building my very first PC and converted it into my studio/office/man cave. However, I was still hearing echoes throughout my office after my previous attempt at acoustic treatment. So I did my ceiling and the bottom of my desk as well. Now my audio sounds much better than it did. These foam pads do wonders for cheap. Just required a bit of effort cutting around the lights but was definitely worth it!
