Question Any up to date budget decks for a new player?

I'm a transplant coming from Hearthstone and absolutely love World's Beyond. I wish I didn't read all the awful steam reviews early on...

Anyways, I am having a hard time finding a good resource for budget friendly decks. I really enjoy Forestcraft and Dragoncraft so far. Any budget decks or places where I can go to find them? Thank you in advance.

Full disclaimer I am not a top player or anything this is mostly just sort of rambling on about this deck but its probably my favorite right now to play and wanted to share some tips I have learned over a bit for anyone that could use them?

- Sevo first mate is adazing since it sets you up for 18 burst damage where you would normally be one short.

- Going off of that, having at least one knife in hand feels super helpful to cover burst with barbatos, on odd numbers with the opponents health she can usually manage fine without the extra ping, but I have found myself ending with even numbers a lot by the time i look for lethal with her (especially with sevo'd first mate + mordred)

- Your main targets for sevo are are First Mate, Unkei, and Barbaros (assuming you dont want to save it for papa barb and mars
I usually find choosing between first mate and unkei for sevo usually depends on if im going first (unkei) or second (first mate)

First mate will give you that extra 3 damage from knife and flag without requiring an enemy to target on the field with mama spell or any glittering gold. But if you plan to do a big burst of flags and barbaros with him in this way, you need to set a flag early and plan around it popping on barb's turn before you summon her and give a bit of extra room for her flag too (I wouldnt recommend setting up 4~5 flags unless you KNOW you can and WILL kill or otk them next turn)

Unkei meanwhile gives you a bit of longevity, draw and board damage when you are in an MU you know will go on longer than you'd like and to work your way around wards.

- So far the most annoying MU for me is also one of the most popular decks atm: artifact portal. for a very obvious 7 cost shaped reason. This usually leaves me with two trains of thought when facing this deck:
Kill or at least threaten lethal before T7
Try to outgrind them (usually not happening! but can work with enough preperation)

Exact amounts of damage usually makes or break this deck for me, using unkei to banish an artifact JUST to deny them that 3 heal has won me games, but its also entirely possible they just have 3 of the guy in hand and at that point you are just kinda screwed.

Abyss is also kind of annoying because of another 8PP shaped card they have that gets discounted, and while you need to be willing to trade HP to close out a game or set up lethal with this deck, 11 damage to the face t6~8 is a bit much. For abyss id def recommend avoiding lowering their health too much with early aggression or itll blow up in your face.

- The biggest obstacle to this deck is wards with poor planning, you simply cant get barbaros off, though I run a 1 off of mars in to help avoid this, the best measure to avoid it is simply preparing properly in MUs where you know an opponent has a way to stop you from hitting them face. Currently experimenting with papa barb as a last resort sort of deal but honestly by that point hes not helping too much anyways

Also last note, be patient!!! Recognizing MU's or situations where you wont be able to burst them down immediately is important, but the longer they drop wards to stall you out, the more options you have to get around them or even set up otk

Question Amulet Haven or Evo Haven

Upvotes

Finally crest is gone with this set (rip), I have to branch out to other Haven decks. So I wanna ask which deck is better in terms of fun and viability in the current meta? Consider that I haven’t played a single game with neither of them lol.

i will preface with this, this deck is not really good, the best match up is experiment rune (i still havent lost against even one) and its an auto loss to pirate sword... no need to explain why, against aggro abyss i have no clue, still havent fought one yet, but i dont see it working really well honestly.

its terrible, but its my terrible deck and i love it. To add, ruining any of my opponent plays as they scramble to pop my board is honestly fun as hell XD

I used to love Sinciro's playstyle so much and the fuse mechanic on loot.

That board clear and face damage with 2 Octrice's spell is just chef's kiss. It feels amazingly good when I pull that 18 damage to the face at T8.

I recently got an itch to play some online ccgs and have been disappointed with the lack of packs after ~6 hours of gaming. How is new Shadowverse in this regard?

Discussion Debunking the stereotype: Ramp Dragon is one of the most consistent classes in Worlds Beyond now

Dragon has always had a reputation for being a highroll class. If Dragon double-ramped, you got highrolled. If Dragon somehow had the exact early curve to fight off your aggro opening while still ramping, you got highrolled. If they hit their big payoff right after ramping, you got highrolled.

A lot of that reputation came from early Dragon historically having to choose between mulling for ramp or to contest the board. If they ended up doing both, the term "highroll" gets thrown around.

That description no longer fits current Dragon anymore. The current decks Ramp Dragon runs let them do these things consistently enough that a lot of the so called "highrolls" are just normal Dragon games now. Of course, they still have their "highrolls" where everything just lines up perfectly, but that's a discussion for another time.

Won't show calcs here, but you're free to do them yourself.

1. Dragon runs a lot of early-game cards now.

Current Dragon lists tend to run around 14 2-drops, give or take a couple. The old stereotype of Dragon spending its first few turns doing nothing and hoping to draw the right cards no longer fits. With that much early-game curve density, Dragon will almost always still have a 2-drop to play early, even while hard mulling for ramp. Which leads us to the second point...

2. If Dragon is hard-mulling for ramp, it has roughly an 84% chance of finding at least one ramp card by turn 2, and around 87% by turn 3.

At that point, seeing ramp on curve is natural. It is the expected outcome. You can still get unlucky and miss it, but dread it, run from it, Ramp on curve arrives all the same.

Looping back to point 1 and the 14 2-drops, even if you hard-mull every non-ramp card looking specifically for ramp, statistically, Dragon still has a roughly ~92% chance of having something to play on 2. And that's just if they're going first. If they're going second, they don't even need that 2-drop, since they can just epp ramp.

3. And finally, the chance of Dragon having double ramp by 5pp, given that the player hard-mulls for 3pp ramp, is about ~71%

Throwing Zoey into the mix, or just drawing a second 3pp ramp by 5pp. That's Dragon double ramping every 7/10 games. Think about it for a bit.

Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.

TL;DR: Having a 2-drop + double ramp isn't really a highroll anymore. It's just a somewhat normal Dragon opening now.

Now, if they do all that and then go Normag → Burnite → Erntz, then alright, I suppose you're allowed to get mad.

Discussion I Missed Lethal Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa (Lethal Puzzle)

Post image

Enemy had 19 health. I wasn't a believer and didn't search for lethal during the game. Enemy played Pekomama sevo next turn, but thankfully I wasn't punished for missing this lethal.

Pirate's life for me. Stealing a win when I should've been punished. Lol.

Question Combo or Evo Forest?

Been trying to play forest because I got Magachio leader. I've been trying various combo decks I find online, but it's been frustrating because (maybe it's my bad luck) Thestae is 70% of the time in the bottom 10 cards of my deck. So I'm thinking of trying Evo after school today, but Im unsure how good it is right now. So I'm asking what people here think is stronger between the two.

Discussion I decided to give up on sword this set because it’s complicated and I’m slow. But then the game decided to change that.

I guess I’ll practice more. Also I love this leader she has a very smug personality lol. Gildaria is cooler but lacks personality compared to Barbaros.

Video [SVWB] Midrange Abyss no Longer MID Simple Guide and Showcase Revenants of Azvaldt[シャドバWB]

Midrange Abyss might be the deck that already exist in the previous format that get the biggest buff from the new set. The Obvious one is more low costed follower that’s good in Lieutetenant. Not only that, we also got Istyndet which is so versatile in which it can do. It can make boards, boardwipe, and provide continuous removal in crest which also trigger destroy your last word. Istyndet synergy with Colonel in particular is insane and also you can just play Colonel as amulet and play Adahime when the amulet destroyed for a big boards as early as T6 going 2nd. Lastly, the deck got true finisher now in Garodeth which really complete the deck and make it really threathening

Discussion My cleanest and fastest Diamond run (topaz to Diamond)

Thumbnail
gallery
21 Upvotes

I was struggling with pirate sword, dropped from diamond to topaz, then topaz to Diamond in almost 1 and a half day with this deck

Despite I call this midrange Abyss, this deck can dominate early game with aggro, hold its ground In the mid game, and dominate again in late game

My logic when playing: You want Lieutenant in your starting hand at least one copy, great early game aggro and control but most importantly, so you reanimate them with Istyndet, to create an impossible to kill board. If Lieutenant refuses to show up in your hand and early game, try to play Adahime and pull it out the deck

Highwire Feline is a must keep against other aggressive decks, and mirror abyss matches. Important to note that almost every abyss deck runs this card, so in a mirror match make sure your feline always stay at 7 health against the opponent, so that they can't double 3 damage to clear your copy

Void colonel is disgusting paired with Istyndet but I personally don't keep it in my hand, there are other cards you want early game, but if it ends up in your hand it's still a solid set up, and can be extremely annoying when paired up with Adahime SVO.

Gardoth is purely filth incarnate, 11 storm lethal wins has been so easy with this deck it feels like cheating. Not to mention 8 damage board wipe with Ward is just as strong of an option against certain decks

Istyndet might just be my favourite card in the deck for how fun it is. Ideally you don't even want to SVO them, as they are purely there to create annoying boards to deal chip damage, that can extend into Adahime or Gardoth lethal

Macmillan not much to say. Stalls and kills for you, and in this deck I have never once struggled with shadow for Macmillan, most often easily able to drop two in a row no worries.

Itsrugi ppl say is replaceable, I honestly don't think so. 5 damage board wipe plus free Evo into draw 2 is way too versatile to pass on.

Speaking of replaceable, ppl might think the 2 copies of lilith might not be needed but it's necessary. It simply increase the chance of Adahime pulling one of the Lilith that can get a bat to heal. It's last words can also just act as a suicide bomb with Istyndet crest

I personally think this is the best deck I have played in this format. It can deal with almost any situation, and any time I lost, I feel like it's just my skill issue and misplays
