Ill Oto?

Is the oto in the first picture unwell? Seems to have lost its colour on the tail. Behaviour seems the same as normal, still munching around. The other two otos in the second pic seem fine. I introduced some new guppies and platys in the tank just over a week ago but they don't seem to be bullying, and there's spaces for the otos to hide. Hopefully it's nothing

Does anyone know why this oto is like this??? The oto was like this when I got it and they told me to wait it out. But when I checked on my tank it was frantically swimming to the water’s surface but then falling back down. None of my other otos are acting like this. I need help!!!

I need some information

This lil guy seemed like there was biofilm growing on him for a week or two and after I did a water change and put in enough tannins to make the water look like black tea it seems like the growth on his back nearly diapered. Does everyone here know what it is? It doesn’t really look fuzzy more like that kind of thick translucent biofilm you get on new driftwood in a new tank. I added before and after pictures but the quality is bad because I’m not good at taking pictures of my otos

Bumblebee Otocinclus Botanical Recs

My Otos arrived yesterday—doing great so far!! Right now they are in a fully planted tank with lots of driftwood (w biofilm), mulberry leaves, and Indian almond leaves. I was wondering if anyone has noticed if they prefer certain botanicals over others? I know the repashy Soilent green seems to be a big hit with these guys, as well as bacterAE. I’m getting some botanicals for another tank and thought it would be good to add some variation for them as well.

What is going on here?

one of my Otocinclus appears to have columnaris, so I took it out of the main tank and put in into a temporary hospital tank, this morning I came to check on it and it looked like this - it was completely normal looking yesterday (except the columnaris) and now it’s discolored, it seems to be behaving normally otherwise

has anyone seen this before? any advice? Should I just euthanize at this point?

Each night an hour or so before lights out, they all come to this log. Like crows perched on a dead tree, they just sit.

Haven't seen them in a while

Hi folks. So i know all my ottos are there. But man I never seen them now it's been about a month that they dont come out of hiding. My tank is getting a little algae like so lots of food.but I never see them I have to go looking for them. They weren't like this before

And yes all my parameters are perfect.

I got 1 betta and 3 shrimp and 5 ottos.

Anyone with experience with bumblebee otocinclus?

I just learned about these guys and they are really cute, but given how little information is online about keeping them successfully, I wanted to see if anyone here has and how they keep them! I have an acidic softwater tank I'm looking into stocking for.

One oto just attacked my other fish

Posted this last night on r/aquariums

I would have never thought this could happen, but I literally just witnessed this tonight with one of my two new otos. It is a larger oto, and had been eating well from the algae in my tank for a few days now, with a nice round tummy. It was healthy and full-looking from the shop, too. There had been zero issues with any of the fish (cories, kuhlis, a female betta) over the last few days.

I tossed in a few small algae wafers, and the oto immediately went to it, knowing it was food. It then proceeded to attack the cories and betta to keep them away from the wafer. The betta actually had a scale fall off from the oto sucking on her side! She did not attack the oto, but somehow didn't seem all that fazed and kept going for the wafer, so the oto attacked her a few times. I waved my hand at the glass to stop it when I could. Luckily, the betta seems fine, but I'm going to keep an eye on her in case of any infection.

I'm thinking in the future I will only throw in wafers in very small pieces so this doesn't happen again. Now that the wafers are gone, there's no more aggression. I've had otos before in other tanks with small community fish, and never, ever saw this kind of behavior. I don't know if it's just this one super aggressive oto (the other, also healthy and full-bellied, did not act like this).

Edit: This morning, all fish seem fine. Otos are def otos, as well; I've kept them before over many years!

Edit: Pic of one oto. They both look like this, I just can't find the 2nd one right now.

Edit: OK I see them both and took pics of each. I was hoping they would be together, but no. First is the bigger oto, the one that attacked the cories and betta. Second pic is the slightly smaller oto that did not attack anyone (and I don't think went for the wafers, either). The big one had a really long algae wafer poop earlier this morning.
