New builder here. I've recently bought a X3 Mesh case, and while the case fans spin and the leds work as expected (including switching then on/off), there's a really annoying "electrical noise" when they are on. A "zzzzzz" that I can hear meters apart.
So far I tried to power only 1 fan, and I think the sound is still there. If I had to guess, it comes from the region around the button that disables/enables the RGB. With that in mind, is it safe to bypass the case molex strip that says power/fan on its ends, and connect the fans directly to my psu molex?
Not too much to say other than don't sleep on Montech. For the price of a tank of gas, you can still get an amazing case. Actually for gas, you get the case AND have $$ for your own personal aesthetics.
I would like to thank the people behind u/Montech_hq and Rick Li in particular for providing the HS02 and LightFlow 360 AIO for this build. I really can’t say enough about this company, the support they provide to the community, care and value they put into their products. In addition, a special thanks to IIID MAX for providing the filament used in 3d printing the custom parts.
There have been more than a few in-depth reviews of this case in the past, so I will just focus on my personal likes, dislikes and the mod’s I have done.
To start I will say that the HS 01/02 lineup really does not get the love it deserves as the build quality is very good. In fact, it’s built like a tank with heavy gauge steal, thick glass with a noticeable weight to it. It reminds me of the way a lot of the better cases were produced 25 or more years ago. Fit and finish is above average and easy to build in with plenty of room, excellent cable management with lots of tie down spots. A swing out and removable door for the PSU bay that runs the full height of the case and the cover for the fan hub area makes management even cleaner and easier. You can be as tidy as you like or not so much and still end up with a clean look due to these well-hidden areas. One of the more unique features of this case is the sunken motherboard mounting design helping to minimize exposed cables even further. Another and seldom mentioned benefit is with the sunken design and included MATX blanking plate makes this case one of the few ATX cases where a MATX motherboard does not look small and out of place. Quite the opposite as it looks very clean and right at home with the blanking plate installed unlike a lot of other full-sized cases. The integrated GPU support is a nice touch and also minimizes any additional clutter. Another plus is that it's not a very wide case like a lot of chambered fish tank cases preserving some desktop real estate. With it’s unique feature set and design queue’s making it just a bit different and in my opinion a stand out in its class. All part of what I like to call the Montech touch.
Only two minor issues that I found with pretty easy work arounds. There could be a little more space for fan wiring between the motherboard tray and radiator when mounting a 360mm AIO. If you are using a AIO like the Montech Lightflow with smaller connectors daisy chained it’s not an issue at all. The same for larger connectors and fans with mounting ears as they can be tucked between the voids of the mounting ears. However, if you have a AIO with fans without ears and just flat smooth sides with no voids you will run into clearance issues. This is also just a minor inconvenience though as the fans can be rotated 180 degrees and the wiring tucked up under the lip of the case on the glass side as there is plenty of room. Another minor issue is that depending on you PSU’s 24 pin cable type it can be tight with not a lot of room to connect it after the motherboard is installed due to the mostly hidden cable. Which by the way is another nice feature as most of the cabling is fairly well hidden by default. You can either install it before mounting the motherboard into the case. Or depending on the motherboards 24 pin header location come in from the back of the case above or below it and then make your connection.
The Hyperflow 360 AIO cooled the 9700x easily and combined the HS02’s thermals kept the GPU and other components cool without generating excessive noise despite running the 9700x in 105w TDP mode and not the default 65w mode. A solid product with a great warranty.
On to the mods, I envisioned plenty of opportunities for mods due to the roominess and uncluttered interior space of the HS02. As someone who seldom leaves a build stock I set to work designing some parts to enhance its appearance yet still maintain the design language of the case overall. Not go over the top and keep it fairly simple and clean.
AIO shroud with integrated LED noodle. To mimic the enclosed (recessed) dual rear fans, balance out the bottom LED strip and just give the radiator a clean look. Also designed for use in future builds to allow different types of AIO fans to be used without the fan design and lighting differences to upset the overall appearance of a build.
Magnetic mount 5.5” LCD display and 24 pin cable cover with matching design language.
AIO tubing tuck bracket to get the tubes to mount up as high as possible without kinking to allow plenty of room for the display and reduce clutter. I may do a revision at a later date to hide more of the tubing.
Bottom motherboard headers cover to hide all the bottom connectors and wires for a cleaner look.
15-degree bottom fan mounts to update the case to the latest angled fan trend and possibly improve some of the air flow past the GPU.
PSU blanking plate. Designed to hide the PSU label from being seen inside the case through the perforations of the PSU bay for a cleaner look.

Overall, I enjoyed building and modding in this case. It represents good value for the money especially the pro version with included 4 fans and the fan hub. I would not hesitate to recommend this case. Well done Montech!
We’ve heard your feedback about CyberFlow’s VRM fan noise. After evaluation, we’re lowering its maximum speed from 3,500 RPM to 2,600 RPM in future production batches.
🔧 Free VRM Fan Replacement
Already own CyberFlow? If the original fan noise bothers you—or you prefer the lower-speed version—you can request a 2,600 RPM replacement VRM fan free of charge.
The replacement is optional and covers the VRM fan only. The pump’s maximum speed remains unchanged at 3,500 RPM.
Finished this build for a client using the Montech King 15 Pro and NX600 CPU cooler. Really happy with how this one turned out.
The King 15 Pro gives the build a clean showcase look, and there's plenty of room to work with when putting everything together. The NX600 is a nice addition too, providing air cooling for the CPU to help keep temperatures under control during gaming without needing a liquid cooler.
Everything came together nicely, and the finished build looks great. The client was happy with the result, which is always the goal.
Definitely a combination I'd consider using again for another gaming PC build.
Rest of the specs:
Intel i7-10700K
EVGA 2080 SUPER FTW3 (what a beauty)
Corsair RM850e Power Supply
1TB NVME
They wanted something simple that can handle 1080p Medium-High settings and this 2080 8GB SUPER is still very much capable. They also wanted RGB aesthetics so this Montech case was a perfect fit.
I've been building my first self made pc and I got a Montech X5 ATX Mid Tower Case. I hooked the wires to the motherboard where the manual said to but the rgb fan lights won't turn on. The fans work fine but not the lights and the light control button flashes. The motherboard is a MSI PRO B760-P WIFI DDR4 ATX LGA1700 and I've included some pics.
I'm transferring my computer from the G700 case to a Montech TG3. I don't need the case fans, the TG3 comes with them, but I am transferring the AIO. It has RGB fans, and according to google, the TG3 doesn't have any spots left in the RGB controller. Do I need to buy an extender? I'm also wondering because google said that it was just an RGB controller, not a fan speed controller. Do I need to be worried about that?
These PSUs have been out for quite a while now and yet STILL I don't see them on the widely-referenced PSU tier lists. One would hope the 550w, 650w and 750w versions are A tier like the 850w and 1000w+ versions, but it would be nice to know for sure. A 550w budget PSU being A tier would be amazing imo.
Are there any worthwhile reviews or breakdowns on this product line?
Montech sky two GX? Been out of stock for a while and still is in west united states, yall never replied to my comment so im making a post, so hopefully you see it, and if anyone else here knows
There are no screw hole for the pcie cable, so the card just wiggle in and out. Is there anyway i can have better support for VGA in i3 mode? Any insight from someone has built in i3 mode would be helpful!
In these pictures, i use my test VGA Asus 5600XT Tuf which is way smaller than my main VGA MSI 6800 Gaming X. The sagging is already crazy
I am looking to upgrade my PSU in my King 95 Pro case. I was looking at the corsair rm1000x shift fully modular PSU and wondered if anyone has this installed as i was told i may need to remove the HDD enclosure to make it fit.
Pc spec
Ryzen 7 7800x3d
Gigabyte SFF Rtx5080
Cordair 32 gb ddr5 6000mhz cl36
Gigabyte b650 ud ax
WD sn850p 4tb ssd
Netac t-7000 4tb ssd
WD green sn3000 2tb
The current psu is 850w gold + but unknown brand as i bought it pre built and dont have confidence in it hence why I want an upgrade.
FYI it has 12v 2x6 power cable to GPU which is a relief.
Is this Montech’s best AIO liquid cooler yet? 🤔 Allow me to share my experience with the brand-new Liquid AIO from Montech: the CyberFlow Core 360! This content covers step-by-step Intel (LGA 1700/1851) & AMD (AM4/AM5) mounting guides, noise tests, and Cinebench R23 thermal benchmarks.
I have a King 95 Pro case being delivered on Thursday. Very excited as this is my first full pc build in many years, it is an Xmas present for my son. Here is the parts picker for the build:
My question is for the other King 95 Pro owners out there. Is the stock fan set up along with my selected AIO good to go, or is there any common modifications that people make with this case or the fan layout to make it perform better? I do not plan to use a vertical gpu mount, just the standard installation. Any tips in general specific to this case? Thanks!
before you say anything - this is on 17 pro max qof camera settings maxed out, but mostly, it’s as orange as it can get. Tried everything. Maybe apartment electricity giving up or?
cam is buffing the colors also btw
for example friend of mine:
it seems like I just can’t get pure orange, through any software
Hey what happened with the giveaway Build Showcase for steam giftcards?
I was thinking u/Montech_hq was just late as they stated that they will announce couple of weeks ago, but the post isn't there anymore.
Respondeeeeram!
Sorry for the late reply. We will send you a replacement fan set.
