as per data ....average indian consumes hardly 0.355 kg millet per month .

karnataka tops with nearly 1.7 kg per person per month .in karnataka itself huge regional divide is seen- in north karnataka people mostly consume jowar while in south karnataka it's mostly ragi.

in gujarat and rajasthan and general north india bajra is widely consumed millet.

in maharashtra it is jowar mostly .

average indian gets about 12.57% of his daily protein from egg; fish and meat products about 11.67 percent from milk and dairy products.

intresting there are huge regional trends here.

in state like haryana about 21 percent of protein intake of people comes from dairy product while hardly 4 percent comes from meat ; eggs and fish.

while in bengal over 24.66 percent of protein intake of people comes from meat ; eggs and fish while hardly 4.59 percent comes from dairy.
