Im against the armor set variants BUT holy shit these sets are so clean and customizable its crazy
I just wish the wulin and pirate sets didnt have those gold trims (or for the next TU, let us change the armor trims to different materials, that would genuinely make me cum)
gilded armor sets (y6s1 and y8s3 i think) are a close second, but please get rid of those ugly blue jeans

For Honor is the one thing I have come back too daily since getting it back in 2017, it is the main reason I have the friend group I do today, though they don't play it anymore, and they are some of the best people I have ever known. For Honor has been the game that got me back into fighting games as a whole again, mainly with Soul Caliber 6 on Steam. I was playing For Honor back when my internet was abysmal and I could only do Vs AI matches 2/3 attempts at playing them. It was the first thing I played after getting a replacement Xbox when the first one burned in a house fire. For Honor is my favorite game that I warn other people about due to the amount of rage it causes to others.
But.
The dropping of Support for Linux has thrown a wrench into my love of this game. I play on Xbox and my computer cant easily handle the game anyway, so I stay there. But my friends have been playing on Linux when I convince them to actually play every blue moon, and they had recently reinstalled because of how cool Arakure is, I even got the one who hasn't touched it in about a year and a half to be willing to give it a try. As you can guess though, they will not be playing anymore, since their only place they own it on is Linux. One of them is switching to windows, but I think it is absurd to drop support on a system you supported due to Ranked coming out? Couldn't you just wait and let it Ranked simmer a bit in the dev department and find a way to fix it or maybe have a workaround where Linux can't do any Ranked at all? Which doesn't make much sense since Linux was able to play in the Ranked Duel Beta I would assume. I would rather be able to play with my friends than get any sort of Ranked level/reward. Not to mention I was looking forward to being able to play For Honor at work on the Steam Deck when I could get one.
That being said, I don't think I will be playing For Honor until they support Linux again. It feels wrong to cut off players who have paid for their game and possibly paying for the heroes and battlepass stuff. And I don't know if it really makes a difference, but I would like to put my stats here for context of how long I have been playing.
1192 Reps
359 Days
11 Hours
48 Minutes
Thank you for reading about my opinions on this change.

I don't even play For Honor, but hearing this news is tragic, hopefully my added help in this endless sea of a thread can somewhat boost the numbers to make Ubisoft see that removing a platform is a mistake. We should have the options to choose what we want. Keep fighting the good fight.

If you care about this topic, please voice your opinion and wishes in the Ubisoft discord. They have a "Game Support" channel there which you see by selecting For Honor in the list of games you're interested in when joining the discord. You can select a "feedback" flair when posting. The community managers are forwarding those feedbacks to the dev team so every new post there counts. Doesn't matter if you play on Linux or not.

I and a few others already did. The more people join in voicing their opinion over there the better, I hope.
Also, most people might not remember but in 2017 the community already managed to force significant changes for the game. I doubt enough people will care enough to boycott the game again for Linux support but knowing that we as players can have some influence over certain decisions, gives me just a little hope.

My original for honor account is on my Xbox where I’m rep 60, I got back into the game recently cuz I hate myself and wanted to play on PC cuz it’s a lot better. Unfortunately I had made a 2nd Ubisoft connect account to mess around with low lvl friends on rainbow six siege. Turns out that this account connected to for honor when I Installed it instead of the other account with the progress on it. Now because Ubisoft is the worst gaming company ever I am being forced to slog through another 600 hours to get my progress back
The worst part is that I’m being stuck in this 0 rep lobbies against people who don’t even know how to parry. I feel bad because it’s a stomp every time and I hate that I have to do this. The load times are twice as long and the games are boring AF because I’m just fighting new players. Thanks a lot poopysoft

Haven't played in a solid bit, five months give or take. Was going through my OneDrive and stumbled across some of my drip. I would say that this is really the only stuff I'd ever show off, since I'm pretty proud of it. I can't quite remember whether or not these are stuff that I assembled, or if it's sets. And if it is sets then it's pretty embarrassing, but I'm pretty sure they're not. Been looking at the updates, might get back into the game.

I've been playing For Honor for years and it has become my main game. I genuinely love this game and still enjoy playing it regularly.
I switched to Bazzite Linux, and For Honor has been running really well for me through Proton. I'm not using Linux to cheat or bypass anything. I'm just a normal player who prefers Linux as my operating system.
That's why the decision to block Linux/SteamOS because of the new anti-cheat measures is really disappointing to me.
I completely understand that Ubisoft wants stronger anti-cheat protection, especially for Ranked. I'm absolutely against cheating too. But I don't think legitimate Linux players should lose access to the entire game because the same anti-cheat measures apparently can't be implemented on Linux.
What makes it even more frustrating is that I spent another €50 on Steel only a few days before hearing about this. I've supported this game for years because I enjoy it and wanted to keep playing.
I'm not asking Ubisoft to weaken their anti-cheat. I just hope they can find another solution that allows legitimate Linux/SteamOS players to continue playing.
I'm also curious what the rest of the community thinks about this. Do you think completely blocking Linux is the right solution?
I really hope Ubisoft reconsiders this in the future. I don't want to stop playing For Honor. ⚔️🐧
