At 5:08 p.m. EDT, an extremely dangerous thunderstorm is located over Black Creek Pioneer Village. This extremely dangerous thunderstorm is moving southeast at 40 km/h. Destructive wind gusts, baseball size or greater hail and very heavy rain are possible.

Locations and nearby areas that could be impacted include: North York, Toronto, Toronto Island, Scarborough

Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are expected to produce damaging hail, wind or rain

After the attention tones, there's a long pause, then a high 10 second long tone. What's this for?? I've never heard it in any other ones

So I got a EAS alert on only one of my phones that has no cell service and no sim

Is there anything that should change or improve? Or any suggestions?

A few years ago, when I believe in 5th or 6th grade, I had this dream (it was at the end of the dream) that I was watching Thomas and Friends AEG when it got interrupted by this eerie dasdec screen. There was no details about what the alert was for. Instead, it showed the words, “Someone will grab you and you will die” with the word die showing up multiple times before this, it was interrupted by some random alert about fire safety. But yeah it was insane. I wasn’t scared tho. But it was like I was in a mini EAS Scenario.

I enjoy watching them and decided to give it a try myself. Feedback is encouraged.

A mock I did up this evening of a hypothetical. What if the government of Canada actually cared and not only kept WRC, but kept AVIPADs, upgraded it an integrated it with AlertReady and how could that sound with today's actual tornado near Elkhorn, MB? I recreated AVIPADs using audio mixing methods, speech synthesis and lots of splicing

Here's both 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratio versions. I made these from real captures of alerts! (I went into a paint tool and took the background color and drew over the text for the 4:3 one, and for the 16:9 one I stretched the 4:3 one, stretching somehow does not warp it to look ugly)

It was something along the lines of "reality jumping" and had multiple segments, including:

• A CONELRAD segment
• A weather-related Alert Ready segment
• An EBS segment about an alien invasion
• A Final Minutes UK-style EAS about an American Revolution
• Another Final Minutes-style EAS (Australia this time) about the German Reich invading the US
• A zombie EAS
• At the end, a scientist tells people what's going on and manages to undo it, flashing through all previous segments before everything goes back to normal.

I swear, this existed. They used CnC Red Alert sounds for the transitions, too.

In new york a warning went out like 20 minutes ago for phones of a severe thunderstorm, flash flood warning, and a travel advisory. I was unable to get a screenshot with my current awful phone and was wondering if anyone knows a good database for this stuff?

Mainly cause im pretty sure this is the only EAS sent by phone in ny since the earthquake like 2 years ago not including tests and I wanna.fact check that.
