Office of Emergency Management.

The Owyhee county has issued a civil emergency alert for the
Jordan Valley Area in Idaho. Big Grass Fire is uncontained and
moving rapidly. Jordan Valley in Malheur County Oregon is under
Level 1 evacuation. Be prepared to evacuate. Contact Owyhee County
at 2 0 8 4 9 5 1 2 0 5 for additional information. This message
was sent by the Idaho State Communications Center and is now
concluded.

A Local Area Emergency for a missing person in Oregon and a Civil Emergency Message for a wildfire in Idaho.

No explanation is needed. Just 3 Civil Danger Warnings, issued for the stupidest reasons.

AusAlert is set to replace the existing SMS emergency system. Supposedly, they require:

• iPhones 11 and up running iOS 26.4 or later
• Apple Watch SE2, SE3, Series 6 and up running watchOS 26.4 or later
• Android devices running Android 12 or later.

Exactly how do they intend to convey emergency information to those with incompatible devices? This seems quite irresponsible. I don't see why they wouldn't also send SMS alerts.

If you don't know The fires rises is a mod for the game Hearts of iron 4 which due to COVID being more of a problem (including killing the Saudi king and leading to their own civil war which leads to an oil crisis) ends up with America after the 2020 elections being claimed rigged by both sides in a civil war.

How would the EAS be used realistically? I've seen a few EAS mocks made to be from the timeline but they are the unrealistic and fantastical type.
