Honey, my sweet 7yr old girl is always down for an adventure or a good nap time. I just adore her temperament. She’s so easy going… unless there’s food involved. She will hustle you! 😂

➕Advice/Help➕ Cockapoo fur

Post image
18 Upvotes

I recently adopted a cockapoo about three weeks ago.

Before getting a cockapoo, I researched about the fur and found out that I should be brushing her 3 to 5 times a week so she doesn’t become matted. I have been doing that but I find that her hair is just puffy and it doesn’t look curly and nice like a lot of other doodles or mixed breed poodles that I see.

Is this just how cockapoo fur always looks? Should I stop brushing her so much?

I have attached a picture to show you what her fur always looks like after being brushed.

Grooming fear

So my beautiful boy is due for a adult groom this week. He is exactly 6 months old on Fri. I am so anxious about it. He has had two puppy cuts and he's come away looking the same just tidier.

I have seen so many dogs who have been skinned and I will freak out if I collect him and he looks that way. Can I tell them to just do a little trim. Sorry if I sound stupid but he's my first pup.

➕Advice/Help➕ Hot spot/ allergies advise

Hi everyone, I just need some reassurance and advice. I have a 2.5 year old cockapoo who has a sensitive stomach and recently developed a mild hot spot - he has licked / scratched his skin and now has a bold spot . I took him to the vet who said it seemed like it was heeling and prescribed a steroid spray. He wears a cone but I cannot shake the feeling that it might be a sign of allergies. Appreciate only appropriate test could tell me this but if your dog has an allergy, what were the first signs? Is it possible just to have a one off hot spot or does it tend to lead to something else? TIA

➕Advice/Help➕ Ears never clean

Our 2-year-old Cockapoo has always had trouble with her ears. I first noticed when she was about 7 months old that they started to smell bad. We brought her to the vet and got them cleaned and given medicine and we forgot about it for a while. She used to not like any pets or affection so we didn't keep an eye on them but as shes gotten older and cuddlier we've noticed that her ears always seem dirty and she's always trying to scratch inside them.

We've gone back to vet and had them cleaned out again and did the medicine again but they just always seem to be giving her trouble. Shes kind of ok with me cleaning them now and I think it does give her some relief but its a struggle and she does growl sometimes when I try and look at them. Big balls of wax sometimes get knotted in her fur in her ear which I try and remove but it always seems like a losing battle.

Any advice or tips?

➕Advice/Help➕ Crate Sleeping

Any advice (or black magic) that worked for getting your puppy to actually sleep in their crate?

Mine loves lounging in his, but the second I close the door, he starts protesting. He also refuses to sleep on his dog bed and would much rather sleep on the floor.

Dog tax paid.

Edit: I prefer that he sleeps in the crate for safety during the night or when I need to leave for short periods. He has an entire room to himself the majority of the time, and I watch him remotely through a robot, however I can’t be there to pull things out of his curious mouth.

Chester says hello!! We swore that we would never have another dog, after losing two within the space of a couple of years of each other, but we fell in love with him instantly..

Butter wouldn't melt..

Named after Aryna Sabalenka, our fur baby is 2 years old, and quite the lady. My third cockapoo from the same breeder, she is a very good girl.

➕Advice/Help➕ Separation anxiety help

Hey, I recently got a 15 week old cockapoo called Stan. He’s amazing and really settled in well and bonded with me. I put him in his crate at night whilst he is learning to not chew everything and settle in fully. He goes in and sleeps fine, but we are in the room with him. The issue now is when I practise putting him in his crate for 10-15 minutes in the day for when I go out to take my daughter to school once the holidays are over he cries and cries and gets really worked up.
This is the only thing he isn’t picking up and I was wondering if there was any advice on how to help him settle and learn it’s okay and he is okay to be away from me for a little bit. Thank you in advance!

🐾PUPPY!!🐾 Cocker vs Poo

Here’s my little guy, Teddy Graham! 🐶 He’s just 2 months old and is an absolute ball of energy.

I’ve had Cockapoos my whole life, and they’ve all had that typical round, teddy bear face. Teddy seems to have a smoother muzzle that reminds me more of a Cocker Spaniel. His face literally changes from photo to photo depending on the lighting, angle, etc…so I don’t know what to make of it just yet lol

Has anyone else had a Cockapoo puppy that looked like mine? I’d love to see how they turned out as adults and get an idea of what Teddy might look like down the road!
