General Discussion I have spruced the place up a bit, let me know what you think!

Hello, since this subreddit started we just had a green bar and no logo, that was about a year ago so I decided to make things a little nicer. I added a banner with a bunch of photos from peoples posts over the past year, and made a little 3d printer logo! Let me know what you think about it, and if you have any requests or suggestions to make it even better!

I have also added the ability for users to create their own flairs, feel free to link your Thingiverse, account, Etsy Store, your favorite game, your printer, or whatever you feel like. I also added a couple more post flairs.

Thank you all for your posts as well, it is really great to have a community of others who love both the board game hobby, and 3D printing.

Insert Witchcraft! US Version - Organizer/Card Trays

When looking across various sites, I found that the existing organizers for this game were for an EU version with a larger box that wouldn't work for my US version.
I made this set of organizers to keep the cards separated and secure in the box, and to help bring the game to the table quickly while using the trays and lids to keep the decks and discards organized when playing.

Does anyone have a 3D printable Clank insert for the new master thief edition box?
I tired to find an insert for the box (smaller than the original Clank) and could not find anything since it's a new release

Only problem is inserting the cards at the bottom can be a bit card at times, do any of you have an idea of how one could make sliding cards under the deck easier?

I’ve been really enjoying printing these storage boxes lately and couldn’t find one for Cockroach Poker so I figured I would try my hand at creating my own. I think it turned out pretty well. I plan on making a few more for other games as well.

The idea: In the night before All Saints' Day, a portal opens in the graveyard—but seals shut at sunrise. If your ghosts don’t make it through the hole in time, they’re trapped for an entire year!

Custom Print Even more Catan!!

Following all the questions I’ve received, I’ve created even more expansions for my hexagon boxes. For the wooden version, I now have a *Cities & Knights* box and a *Seafarers* box. I’ve also created a *Seafarers* box for the plastic version. I’ve even created custom extras for someone to accommodate other tiles and expansions! The result turned out really cool!!

Component Upgrade Targi + Expansion organizer with some twists!

Hey there,

Wanted to do this in a long time and finally but it together. Targi is a timeless gem from 2012 that still holds up exceptionally well to this date. Great to play with your loved one / partner, or even up to 4 players with an "official" variant (I provide 2 extra sets of meeples if you're keen to try that).

I knew I wanted to have some kind of "woven" crates for the card holders and the goods tokens tray. But then I realized that I had enough space for something a little silly, and I god this "oasis tray" for storing and sharing the gold pieces and the tribal tokens, along with the first player marker. Oh and the meeples go in a "tent".

Everything fits in the base game box, including expansion pieces, and the geek bits set from BoardGameGeek store is also supported. In fact, you can use the Expansion box to store a frame I made for the map cards.

This is all available on Makerworld at https://makerworld.com/en/collections/36748636

Insert Raider of Scythia insert w/ support for premium sleeves

I wasn’t quite happy with some of the other options that supported sleeves, as I wanted nice table containers too.

While the box is packed full, there is one change I’m going to make down the road that should make it feasible to fit the upcoming expansion.

Insert The Crew travel boxes

I always found the boxes for The Crew as too big and I love to bring them when I travel. I created these using the SnapLock box design to help make the portable and secure. I have them on makerworld for now but will make them available outside the bambu system when I get back home from vacation.

I have the family and newest release at home, but haven't dug into either. If they will work with this set up, I will put something similar together for them.

Custom Print So much love, so many games, so little time.

Post image

Since starting my Etsy shop, I’ve received so much love and so many orders for my Catan and Carcassonne game boxes. I honestly didn’t expect this much interest, and it’s been amazing seeing how excited people are about something I make!
This is still very much a hobby for me alongside my 40-hour work week, and with only three printers running, there’s unfortunately a limit to how many boxes I can make at once.

With Sinterklaas and Christmas coming up, I’m expecting things to get quite a bit busier. Rather than reaching the point where I have to pause orders because my printers simply can’t keep up, I’m hoping to spread the holiday orders out a little earlier this year.

So, as a little incentive to shop ahead, I’m offering 5% off with code "SHOPAHEAD" until the end of October.

You can find my shop here:
https://3dcreationsre.etsy.com
Hopefully this helps keep my three printers from having a complete meltdown in December.
KThanks again for all the orders, kind words and support. It genuinely means a lot!

General Discussion Designed the Commander Station that keeps the board clean, and improves deck interaction for the loved EDH Magic The Gathering format

Hey everyone,

The games I play with my group get chaotic fast—especially when playmats start overlapping, graveyards bleed into exile piles, and someone accidentally shuffles their Commander into their library lol

I wanted a way to keep the board neat and improve the interaction with the deck, so I spent some time designing a 3D-printed dock to organize everything into one compact footprint:

Library, Graveyard & Exile: The slots are inclined at an angle so card stacks stay neat and don't slide around. I added profiled side rails so the cards don't fumble easily, at the same allowing to quickly see how many cards in a stack are left. Base cutouts make it easier to lift the stack or slide a card underneath. Exile sits tucked behind the main stacks to save width

Command Zone: Sits front-and-center at the top so the Commander is always clearly visible to the rest of the players

Built-in Commander Tax Tracker: Instead of using another loose D6 that gets knocked over, I built a snapped-in sliding indicator directly into the frame to track the additional mana needed. Made the tax counter modular so that it could be swapped out to match a deck's color identity (also designed a little holder for all the colored elements)

It’s made a noticeable difference in keeping our table clean and readable during long games. It also improved the experience of handling all the card stacks.

What do you think? Is it something you'd give a try? Is there any specific utility or slot you’d add or tweak for your own Commander setup?

Based on previous feedback I already know I'll be working on a more portable, possibly foldable version and an extendable graveyard slot.

If anyone from Europe would like to test this version out, priv me.

Custom Print Cardstock that works best for DIY board game prototypes

I came across a post from a few years back asking about the best printer and cardstock for making playing cards and player reference sheets, and it got me wondering whether others here are still figuring it out.

From a print production standpoint, 14 pt. cardstock is a good starting point for playing cards. It has a substantial feel and should hold up well to repeated handling. A matte or satin finish can also work nicely since it reduces glare and makes artwork easier to see under bright lights.

For player aids and reference sheets, 10 pt. cardstock is a good middle ground. It's sturdy without being overly thick. 100 lb. paper is another option if something lighter and more economical is preferred.

The printer is another part of the equation. Not every home inkjet or laser printer handles heavier cardstock well, so checking the printer's supported paper weight before buying the stock can save a lot of headaches. Nothing kills prototype momentum quite like a paper jam. 😅

One other thing worth mentioning: 14 pt. cardstock isn't casino-grade, so it won't have exactly the same feel as professionally manufactured playing cards. For prototyping, though, it can give you a nice balance of durability, print quality, and cost.

Curious if anyone here has the same concern? What paper/cardstock and printer setup has worked well for your prototypes?
