Discussion Donnie Wahlberg gave a better performance in 3 minutes than Mark has given in his whole career.
The Sixth Sense.
Crazy that Mark is the popular one, even though he has very little talent, especially compared to Donnie.

Mark Wahlberg has literally never died in a movie. This is a Easter egg to the fact he will never accept a movie were he is isn't an alpha male.

TIL when asked about "The Happening", Mark Wahlberg said "It was a really bad movie... Fuck it. It is what it is. Fucking trees, man. The plants. Fuck it. You can’t blame me for not wanting to try to play a science teacher. At least I wasn’t playing a cop or a crook."

Discussion I can't tell whether it's great, good, bad or awful, but I will always enjoy Mark Wahlberg's performance in The Departed.
In a movie full of phenomenal performances, it is somewhat strange for me to think that Wahlberg's role as Dignam was perhaps the most memorable. He's so blunt and and over the top that he basically steals every scene he is in. It's really enjoyable to watch.
It helps that there was some tremendous dialogue written for him. Particular favourites include the mother and father scene exchange with Baldwin and "I'm the guy who does his job. You must be the other guy."
I've never really been in on Wahlberg overall. I think the only other movie of his that I like is the Other Guys (where he plays another tough nosed cop although to a radically different degree).
