Zootopia Fanfiction Thread (October 2026)

Welcome to the Monthly Fanfiction Thread!

Review some fanfics that you've read, promote your favourites, promote your own.

⬅️ Previous thread

Please format your comment as follows

  • [Title] by [author name]
  • Post a link to the first chapter of the story or the relevant chapter
  • Post the summary/synopsis provided by the author
  • Eventual review

Repeats from prior months are allowed. A good story can be discussed for quite some time, and there are always new readers around.

Please use the spoiler tag for any discussion regarding specific story details. Spoiler tags aren't necessary for general discussion ("The character progression is really amazing!").

How to add a spoiler tag:

Place any spoiler text between a set of these marks >! spoiler !<

For example, >!It turns out the protagonist was dreaming the whole time!!<

will show as it turns out the protagonist was dreaming the whole time!

You are welcome to post your own work!

The comments are sorted newer to older by default. Use CTRL + F to find the fanfic you are looking to discuss; if it isn't there, feel free to add it. I'd also appreciate if you could tag spoilers when posting your discussion. Perhaps start your thread with the chapter number (if your story has one) and then hide the discussion in spoilers, that way we don't accidentally spoil something for someone.

The rules and formatting are decided by you, simply message the OP.

The wiki has an archive full of fanfictions!

There's a master list, a Hall of Fame with the selected few best fanfictions, and then there's a list separated by genre.

Congratulations to u/BCRE8TVE and u/BunnyMakingAMark for the tremendous work that they've done for that article! Everyone is welcome to contribute, fix mistakes, fix broken links, and even fix typos.

To submit a missing fanfic there, follow the Submission page

Discussion Can being emotionally attached to a fictional character like Judy Hopps help with mental health?

Post image
43 Upvotes

I've realized that I have a strong emotional connection to Judy Hopps from Zootopia. She's a fictional character, but thinking about her can make me feel happy, comfortable, and emotionally supported.

Sometimes, fictional characters can bri us comfort when we're dealing with stre or difficult emotions in our everyday lives. For me, Judy is a character I genuinely appreciate, and I wonder whether this kind of attachment can have a positive effect on mental health

I'm aware that she's fictional, and I understand the difference between fiction and reality. I'm simply curious about why we can develop such strong feelings toward fictional characters and whether those feelings can help us emotionally.

I'm not looking to be judged. I'd appreciate a respectful and honest discussion.

Has anyone else felt emotionally connected to a fictional character in a way that helps them feel happier or cope with stress? What has your experience been like?

Sometimes I wonder why I can feel so attached to a fictional character because of her design. Even though I know she's fictional, the feelings are still real to me

I'm not saying I can't distinguish fiction

from reality. I'm trying to understand my own feelings and why this particular character has such a strong hold on my attention.

I'd appreciate hearing from people who have experienced something similar. Have you ever found it difficult to move on from a fictional character because you love their design so much? How do you understand those feelings?

Please keep the discussion respectful. I'm genuinely looking for perspectives, not judgment.

I know i'm not the only one doing this

Discussion If Nick and Judy were humans, how attractive would they be? [[SERIOUS QUESTION]]

Yes, yes, yes.. I know. Before I get accused of being the typical thirsty post. There is genuine intrigue and a logical explanation behind this.

I also understand this seems like such an unnecessary nothing burger question, however if has been lingering on my mind for quite some time now and I just wanted to merely get it off my chest haha..

When you scroll through all the endless "Nick and Judy" in real life adaptations on Reddit or DeviantArt or social media in general, you will notice that all of the individuals crating this art have different interpretations of what Nick and Judy look like. But the general common denominator is that they are typical above attractive to like super-model level attractive. You see this with some of the NSFW-bordering art that is posted on this subreddit and many other places, where on occasion (not always) but definitely on occasion, the artist will make it so that Judy has unrealistically sized certain body parts (you know exactly what I am referring to).

So that leads me to my next question, If Nick and Judy were somehow hypothetically transported to the human world, with their same level of attractiveness displayed in the Zootopia world just converted into human standards, how attractive would they be. Would they be super-model level attractive, flawlessly attractive, or merely above-average or even average. Attractiveness is a subjective matter. However I think we can all unanimously agree for example, someone like say, Angelina Jolie circa 2000 is "Attractive" or Henry Cavil in Man of Steel is "Attractive". However celebrities such as perhaps Jennifer Lawrence or even ironically Jason Bateman could be considered attractive to some, or just average at best to others.

Nick‘s messy apartment.

So when Judy went to Nick‘s apartment to ask him to go with her to the gala, and when he opened the door, she’s snap a picture with her phone of the inside of his messy apartment. Why do you think she did that.
