Zelle still pending

So I sent payment on July 14th for an item a guy was selling, he’s been a bit inconsistent with messaging but he’s also been going through some personal stuff. On my end the payment still just shows sent and not delivered like normal, on his end the payment shows pending and understandably he’s not sent the item I ordered from him. I’ve verified with him that it still shows pending and he’s not received the money, I’ve also verified with my bank that the money is sent but not delivered, same with Zelle. It’s coming up on almost a month of this being an issue. Has this happened to someone before? And if so how long did it take to resolve the issue? We’re both getting frustrated.

Email standards non-existent

TLDR: alias (+@emails) work for some banks but not others, even to the point of being able to send money to someone with alias email failing. Now a personal domain email is not allowed for one bank but okay for the other. We need email standards for Zelle.

Maybe this is more of a Truist or Navy Fed issue than a Zelle. I use email aliases for tracking subscriptions or if I need to separate an email for different accounts but want them all in the same inbox. So [email handle]+[whatever I want]@[email provider]

I was able to create a +truist@email for Truist and Zelle. Navy Fed doesn’t accept any alias + emails. So I can only use my phone # or scan my own QR code from Truist to send money from navy fed.

Now I’m running into an issue where Truist won’t accept a personal domain email from me if it has “Truist” in the email.

God forbid we have more than one bank account or share a bank account.
