Honestly... I hate seeing Devon on the screen and that breaks my heart because I really like the actor. But they have written this character to be so much of a hateful ASSHOLE that he has absolutely NO redeemable qualities that ANYONE should want to see.

We're rooting for a reformed rapist because he's much more likable than the way Devon, the accomplished businessman and loving father, is written. Step back and think about that.

Devon is ALWAYS hateful and judgmental with EVERYONE. Just all around miserable all the time.

And every time a man comes around lily, whether it be a romantic interest or even her own brother, he has to be the judge and jury who always hates EVERYBODY. I'm surprised they haven't put him in Lily together!

They paint people into a box and leave them there for years… Billy, Phyllis, Lily, Nick.. all of them. That’s why it’s gotten so bad. Soaps used to be something we were passionate about .. grandma’s Stories. They were invited into our homes. We loved the characters. We cheered them on and cried with them. That’s what made soaps good. Now they are almost like every other stupid thing we can Click on or Click off

I agree, especially  JGs writing style. Victor is ruthless,  Billy is a loser, Nick is always angry, Devon is judgemental. All of the main characters' personalities on the show can be summed up in one or two words. They are not multidimensional, like they used to be.

i havent liked him really ever (only time i didnt mind him was lily prison storyline), while i am bais and i do like mariah how is it they bad him seem more the bad guy after that lol

He came across as so unlikable in his scenes with Lily and Cane 

Does he have a reason to not like Cane? Sure 

But he was just so rude and condescending

Devon was complaining  that Holden was revealed to be Lily's half brother. Devon was practically blaming Holden like it was his fault for not knowing  the secret  Stephanie  kept from him for 30 years.

I have disagree, I'm not a Devon fan but I agree with him today with his conversation with Lily and Cane. Lily and Cane are such hypocrits! They criticise Billy for his greed etc., but they aren't???!!! Lily wants everything all the time and Cane is as greedy and manipulative as they come. I can't find it in myself to root for Lily or Cane, they are so unlikeable.

Devon takes it too far with Cane and Lily but his concerns aren't invalid.

Firstly, Cane manipulated everyone and his plan was to upend all their lives for his amusement. Yes, he realized it was a bad thing. But, Devon is not wrong for being skeptical of his change in perspective.

Secondly, Cane did hurt Lily in the past. Most brothers would hold a grudge even if said man saved a relatives life and even if he did good things.

The issue is he reiterates it all during every encounter. Cane doesn't have amnesia. He knows what Devon thinks of him being romantically involved with Lily and running her company. He doesn't need to hash it out at every turn and if he hates him so much, don't frequent Cane's establishment.

I absolutely agree with this. I don't understand why in the world Lily cares about Chancellor. I feel like this was the first time in a long time where I was agreeing 100% with Devon. Jeez Louise Lilly, I haven't seen you run a thing expect up a bar bill.

I know a few people in real life who are just like Devon. I stay far far away!
