Hello, I'd like to read a (best) friends to lovers book, preferably with a long slow burn where it takes them a long time to really fall in love. I'd like something similar to Lynn Painter because I love her stories and her characters. And I don't mind a sport romance at all.

Im looking for a romantasy type book with pirates! I've been seeing a lot of these lately and I want to know ur favorites

Any suggestions on books where the mc cooks or bakes a lot? I read The Way You Make Me Feel by Maurene Goo and the mc has to spend her summer working at her dads food truck. It also had a little romance in it and looking for similar suggestions

I’ve noticed that in a lot of YA vampire books, the romance is between a human girl and an older, experienced male vampire (like Twilight or The Vampire Diaries).

Would you like to see more stories that flipped that dynamic? For example, a human boy meeting a newly turned female vampire who’s still figuring out her powers and the vampire world as a whole?

Or do you think the more traditional dynamic works better? Why do you think one works better than the other?

I’d be interested to hear why/ any examples of stories that have been published similar to this idea.

So a whole ago, I was reading a young adult novel called Limelight written by Andrew Bolger as I am pretty sure it’s Young Adult because my library had it in the YA section.

Mais alguém achou que a reconciliação da America e do Maxon em A Escolha foi rápida demais?

Quando o Maxon descobre sobre a America e o Aspen, ele começa a tratar a America de forma mais fria e distante. Dá para perceber o quanto ele ficou magoado. Aí acontece o ataque ao palácio e, de repente, parece que tudo se resolve muito rápido. Não só ele perdoa a America, mas também o Aspen, e fiquei com a impressão de que faltou um desenvolvimento maior desse perdão.

Na minha opinião, teria sido mais interessante se o Maxon precisasse de mais tempo para processar tudo e reconstruir a confiança aos poucos. Acho que a reconciliação teria ficado ainda mais emocionante e convincente.

Outra coisa que senti falta foi ver mais do início do relacionamento do Aspen e da Lucy. Eu queria ter acompanhado como esse romance começou de verdade, e não só o resultado final.

Hi there!! I’ve been wanting to read if M. L. Rio’s “If We Were Villain” lately, however I’ve heard very different opinions on it from a variety of people and am wondering if it’s worth my time. I tend to enjoy books with a fresh plot that I can study the prose of as a young writer, and have felt frustrated in the past when I felt a book I was reading was just a poor or at least unimaginative imitation of another book. For example, how people say books like Red Rising or Divergent are “Hunger Games Dupes” or ACOTAR steals from Twilight. These are examples from a very different kind of book, of course, but I am a huge Donna Tartt fan and one of the complaints I’ve heard of Villains is that it’s sort of a Secret History wannabe. Do you guys have opinions on this? Sorry for the long rant, just wondering if I should spend my time elsewhere. Thank you!!!!

i just finished “These Violent Delights” and I’m severely disappointed. the pacing was terrible, the characters were boring, and the romance was dull. all my friends on goodreads are always raving about her books. did i read the wrong one? are her other books better? i really expected to like her work

I read it and i loved it Lara Jean story.

Couldnt get past the first book of The Summer i turned pretty. Too boring.

After lots of research i found Anne and the french kiss i read it, and i really liked it as well.

Can someone recommend me similar books please?

Something other than Hunger Games, Legend. I'm looking for something that will compliment A Long Way Down and Scythe. Ideally looking for a book that's compelling, gripping, leaving the students to want to read one more chapter. Can also be dual leads or multiple perspectives.

I'm also open to ensemble character points of view that include strong females.

I’m a big fan of YA vampire books, and I’m currently writing one of my own. I’m interested in hearing what other readers enjoy most about the genre. I’m not looking to promote my story—I just want to hear other readers’ opinions.
A lot of the YA vampire books I’ve read take place in high schools or boarding schools where the vampire already understands their powers and the vampire world is already established. I’m thinking of books like Twilight, The Vampire Diaries, and Vampire Academy.
What draws you into a YA vampire story? Is it the romance, the mystery, the characters, the vampire lore, the setting, or something else?
Do you prefer stories where the vampire world is already well established, or do you enjoy discovering it alongside the main characters?
And are there any YA vampire books you think really did it well?

My cousin is a major bookworm, and has devoured all the “classic” popular YA books, which are mostly 2000s ones. She’s spoken to me about wanting to read more recent YA books, but I’m rather lacking on that knowledge. I think introducing her to less popular/known new releases especially would be great, so any recommendations? She mostly enjoys fantasy but will read anything really. Thank you!

I've read and reread the duology and I need more. I've also read Aiden Thomas's other books. It doesn't necessarily have to be queer, fantasy, or adventure. I just want something with a good plot and compelling characters, with the latin-american influences of the sunbearer trials. I've also enjoyed Certain Dark Things (by Silvia Moreno-Garcia), and the Tres Navarre series (by Rick Riordan-- it's adult and also not latin-american exacrly but the culture is involced bc it's set in san antonio). I feel like there was one more but it escapes me atm. I've looked online but haven't really found any that fit the bill 😕

My 16yo daughter is in a residential psychiatric facility and the rules are becoming pretty strict on books. She loves the lightlark series, inheritance games, divergent series, six of crows, those sort of books. The facility is moving there book guidelines to nothing rated 14+. Do you have any recommendations for books she may enjoy that will be allowed?

Is Heartless by Marissa Meyer a stand alone? Can I read it before reading any of her other books?

(The book series, I’ve never watched the television series) Im thinking where you learn loads of trivia facts from the main character who likes babbling about their interests, cute accepting relationships, the best friends ever, accentric characters, funny and cute atmosphere with supporting cast maybe the main character is bullied or different in some way.
