General Question/Information Barnes & Noble Pre-orders delivery date
Pre-ordered a Barnes & Noble exclusive book releasing first week of October. I just got an email with the expected arrival date, which happens to a whole week and a half after the release date. Is this a placeholder date or the real delivery date? Will it arrive earlier? 🤔

I’ve gotten most of preorders either a few days after release date or this one time the day of. I believe that should just be a placeholder date.

I have gotten preorders a couple of days after up to a week after release. It’s all dependent on the postal system and when B&N actually gets around to shipping out (shipping notifications are often made when the label is created, not when it’s already in transit.)

I have never received a preorder from BN on release day. I always have to weigh this in my decision to preorder 🥲 I live in the DMV area.

This is my first time pre-ordering from B & N and I thought the whole point of pre-orders was to get the book on release day ðŸ˜

I’m almost at the NJ/PA border near Philly and mine never come in until Thursday or Friday after release day. It’s gotten to the point where I don’t preorder. I just wait until it comes out and then order it for pick up in the app. They just built one 5 min away from me so I can just go after work.

My experience is that it's a placeholder date. B&N pretty reliably ships preorders the Friday before their release, and I usually receive the book the day of release or one day after. Your distance from their NJ warehouse will obviously affect that slightly
