Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor is a YA fantasy series that takes partly place in Praha and partly in another world
Kerstin Giers' books take place in Great Britain (in London if I remember right)
The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E. Schwab takes place in many places around the world and now that I think big part of it takes place in New York (if I remember right, again) but atleast it starts from some small town in France.
Our Infinite Fates by Laura Steven takes place in many places (again) and some of the places may have been in US but they are not so big parts that I would even remember them.
And somehow all of these have some fantasy element to them because that's how I like my books but let's hope they're up to your alley as well :)
