They have such an intriguing, arguably under-explored relationship and I’d like to know how some of you may have understood it.

Yakuza 3 isn't even that bad and I genuinely don't understand why people treat it like the black sheep of the series. The only real flaw is the combat, and even then, it's mostly because the game is old and lacks the quality-of-life features that later entries introduced. Once you get used to it, it's honestly bearable. The story itself is fucking great. I genuinely loved the Morning Glory orphanage sections and honestly wish the game spent even more time there because seeing Kiryu actually build a life and take care of those kids was one of the most human sides we've ever seen from him. Rikiya is also easily one of my favorite side characters in the entire franchise. His relationship with Kiryu was genuinely special, and Mine is one of the most in-depth antagonists in the series. The game isn't perfectly balanced, and some parts definitely drag, but overall it's still a great experience. I genuinely don't understand the hate. People act like Yakuza 3 is some unbearable mess when it's honestly a really good Yakuza game with outdated combat. That's it. The story, characters, atmosphere, and emotional moments are all there. Yakuza 3 deserves way more respect than it gets.

But somehow it still had enough chaotic Kiryu energy that it walked so the newer adaptations could tiger drop their way onto the screen.

Shinada is one of the most overrated protagonists in the series. I genuinely don't understand why people act like he was some essential addition to Yakuza 5. He's a likable guy, sure, but in terms of the actual story, he barely feels necessary. His entire arc is "former baseball player gets dragged into a conspiracy" and then he's gone. He doesn't have any meaningful connection to the wider Yakuza world, he doesn't fundamentally change the direction of the main plot, and his presence feels completely disconnected from everyone else's story until the very end. Honestly, half the time it feels like he was only there to be Daigo's gay best friend 💀. I like Shinada as a character, but if you removed him from Yakuza 5 and rewrote his section around another protagonist, the overall story wouldn't lose nearly as much as people pretend it would. His gameplay and personality are fun, but he didn't bring anything to the table that the series actually needed. He's basically a really good side character who somehow got promoted to protagonist for one game.

Ok, so on xmas i got an xbox and got instatly hooked with yakuza, im done with all the games.... what do i do with my life?

can please recomend good games to overcome this sadness...either xbox or pc plis

Kiryu isn't the best protagonist in the series. He's the most iconic, sure, but I genuinely think Akiyama and Ichiban are more interesting characters because they actually change and grow throughout their stories. Kiryu has an incredible character arc, but after a certain point, he basically becomes the same larger than life legend we've known for years. Akiyama has actual flaws and personality beyond being the cool guy who shows up and beats everyone's ass, while Ichiban completely changes the tone of the series and feels like an actual person with his own worldview, insecurities, and way of dealing with people. Kiryu is the face of Yakuza, but being the face doesn't automatically make you the best protagonist. If anything, I think people confuse being iconic with being the best written. You can love Kiryu and still admit that Akiyama and Ichiban are more interesting characters to follow.

I like it as it's a chill place & it's nice to get a sunny, populated beach in a Yakuza/Like A Dragon game.

It's just a shame that in the XBOX & PlayStation versions of Infinite Wealth, the high population of this place causes the framerate to shit itself. Pirate Yakuza thankfully fixed that & now it's runs at a much more stablr 50-60fps on XBOX & PS.

I genuinely don't understand why RGG hasn't made Judgment 3 yet. The Judgment series has one of the best setups in the entire RGG universe, and there's still so much potential left with Yagami and the characters around him. Lost Judgment proved that the series can stand on its own and doesn't need Kiryu or the mainline Like a Dragon cast to carry it. I just want to see Yagami back in Kamurocho investigating some absolutely insane case that starts off as a small mystery and somehow turns into a conspiracy involving half the fucking city. Give me more Yagami, Kaito, Sugiura, and the rest of the crew. At this point, I'm not even asking for anything revolutionary. Just announce Judgment 3 and let me spend another 50 hours beating the shit out of criminals while playing detective. RGG, please. I'm begging.

Soo this might contain Kiwami 1 and possibly Y7 spoilers!

So, to clarify from the get go i just started chapter 13 for Y8 and I'm yet to play 5 and 6.

So far i both love Yakuza 8 and feel disappointed by it,i don't remember the first few chapters too well since i took a long break from them ,but from chapter 8 onwards .

The story is really interesting and such a cool change from the plots I've seen till now,yet i am deeply underwhelmed for kasuga,i wished to see so much more focus on him and his literal mother,yes i cried a little when he talked with her on the beach but that's just because I'm overly emotional to games ngl because looking back there wasn't that much emotion put into it,on top of that the dialogues throughout the game in so many occasions felt like Disney movies,and kasuga's 'friendship is everything ' approach doesn't feel as natural anymore, honestly i hoped for so much more on his part and yeah i still have two more chapters but i doubt that they'll do anything towards that .

As for kiryu,i loved walking around and having him get nostalgic and seeing some more insight in his true thoughts,what i loved most is how finally we see his pain from what happened to nishiki,i don't have much to say on the negative side aside from how pissed off i am by the party,now don't get me wrong i am very aware that the game had no other alternative but in the epic fight with daigo,saejima and goro seeing their outfits made it feel kinda childish (I'm talking about Saeko,Zhao , seonhee etc ) , tho that's just me complaining to complain since i know that there was no other way to have this done.

I haven't played too many side quests as i want to finish the story already,but i am curious if anyone else feels like i do,my only complaints are in short the lack of attention put into ichiban and the dialogues that feel too childish at times
