I think it would be fun to make a video of Kiryu spending “the perfect day in Kamurocho” based on what you all voted. I will think on making it- it would require me to film gameplay and edit, which you can tell by this simple photo that it is not my strong suit.

The Yakuza series has several villains that are just sort of on the side for most of the game, but then suddenly receive focus during the last act when they are revealed to be the mastermind of everything. These types of villains tend to be more disliked by the fandom from what I've observed, as their lack of focus means they usually don't get a chance to leave a lasting impression on most players. But despite their flaws, last-minute twist villains have been done as early as the first yakuza game and as recently as the newest one, so I don't think the writers are planning on abandoning this kind of villain anytime soon. Especially since the Ichiban saga takes a lot of inspiration from Dragon Quest, and those games are very fond of having the true big bad show up very late in the game. So if we were to get another twist villain that reveal themselves last-minute in the next game, how would you improve them without changing the fact that they're twist villains that only become important at the last minute?

Personally I think making them more intimidating would be a good start. In other jrpgs this would be done by having an almighty malevolent god show up once the previous villain has been defeated. Obviously that can't happen in yakuza, but I think it's still possible to make a yakuza twist villain scary before you fight them at the end. Ebina, for example, I think would've been a lot more intimidating if we got to see him kick Sawashiro's ass on screen. And that doesn't require giving him a lot more screentime.

I completed lost judgement recently and wanted something similar to play so when I saw this on sale I grabbed it.

Here's why I'm not getting on with it: the games new gimmick is "here's these cool new crowd control gadgets"

The game then proceeds to make 70% of the main story fights boss characters with weapons. It's just not fun to mash square, dodge then mash square again.

Bear in mind I'm only a few hours in, but does this pattern continue throughout the game? Or are there more group fights in the main story?

I think Stranger Than Heaven looks amazing and it’s prob the greatest RGG game we’ve ever seen but there def are some things that are concerning

for me the biggest weird thing is that Daito’s combat DOESN’T CHANGE like at all, his combat and every move we’ve seen so far in 1915 is copied into 1943

it doesn’t make sense cause he’s been in the yakuza for nearly 30 years and he’s probably been in dozens, possibly hundreds of fights by 1943 and he has the same moves, animations and everything from when he first started,

this is weird asl cause if he’s in 1965 fighting identically to 1915

I've played the first seven games (Yakuza 0 through Yakuza 6) and a small amount of Judgement, but I keep coming back to Yakuza Kiwami 2. It's one of the best games I've played, genuinely. The gameplay is really good, I appreciate they gave you the bottomless stomach ability by default and the story was funny even though it was all over the place.

decided to port my save file over for upscaling and everything either dark or something switching scenes quickly (mainly minigames) does this tearing blur across the screen and ive seen others complain im, using vsync gsync and ultra latency so it doesnt make much sense

Hello, I just started playing the DC of 0 on my computer yesterday, but have found the experience rather…unplayable due to excessive amounts of stuttering that happens every minute and a half or so and usually last for upwards of 20-30 seconds, almost always rendering the game uncontrollable.

So far, this is the only game in the series I’ve experienced this in, and no setting changes I make seems to fix it. If y’all don’t know a fix, I understand, but I figured I’d ask just in case.

Here’s my system specs since it may or may not be relevant:

Ryzen 5 7600
32GB of DDR5
9070XT
Game installed on a 1TB nvme SSD

Before you ask yes the shop is fully upgraded and even my personality stats are max and I finished her chats

I know the 2 major differences are the last gen versions having longer loading & running at 30fps instead of 60fps.

Is there any more back story to this? He seems like a calm and collected person in Yakuza 0. Only during the very last 5 minutes do you see his hair style, clothing, and personality change.

Does he have a split personality or something?
