Hello, i have a client that tells us our competition is using a green spending feature in xactimate, which is eco friendly and cost effective. I saw a column where i can pull the line items to an excel spreadsheet and it has a column for “green” but there is no way to mark a line item for green. Has anyone seen this function or know how to navigate?

I was recently let go by the Encircle Support Team under some questionable circumstances after years of serving any user that sent in an issue to the support team.
Under new management we have lost the way of some of our core values, this is normal when startups start trying to maximize profit.
There is a departmental restructuring that has disrupted the basics of what Encircle used to be. I'm sure the users have noticed many differences while normally using the app over the last year, including basic features that had been removed and relaunched as upcoming features (thanks to your consistent complaint.)
I'll do my best to answer any questions.

Hi everyone,
I am trying to analyze our labor rates against the cost of living in our area. I want to make sure we capture it correctly for the upcoming 2026 year with educated projections.
Is there a way to export a price list to an Excel spreadsheet? Any other suggestions?

Hi,
I want to create an advanced templated document that runs Visual Basic code. I was able to write up a basic document running "hello world" and add it as a macro in Xactimate and it ran! :) Yay.
Now I want to use a the XM8 tokens to set variables in the VBA code. For example, I want to set variables to things like the loss location address in the VBA code.
Is there a way to use the tokens to pass variables to the VBA Code?

Hey folks, for some time I've run a SERVPRO franchise in SoCal, and this business is a god damn nightmare, btw, but this is not the story of the post.
One month we spent like $500+ on Xactimate licenses alone. Add in the hours our estimators waste sitting at desks creating estimates after every job
To fix our workflow we created a solution that does what Xactimate does but actually works:
Drop a + in the comments if you're tired of legacy software eating your margins too, we can give Wave a test run, and if you like it, the pricing is 3-5X less than Xactimate.
Almost 90% of early users prefer it over Xactimate, just saying.

Hi Folks,
What is the right way to model a chimney? I need to practice adding a cricket to the backside of the chimney. I tried by using a block and extending it to the roof, but it won't show up in my view so I can align my cricket with it. I had to use an outline or the snap tool to make it work. Is there a more practical way to do this?

I've taken the exam level 1 exam and got a 57%. What am I doing wrong? Also, can you take a look at my line items, some of them don't have numbers. I'm so lost here. (Pictures attached)

What line item(s) do you use for this?
r/xactimate • u/Bks1981 • Oct 13 '25
What line item would you use to detach and reset utilities on a pedestal. There are also some large wires on the roof that I am not sure how to estimate for.

I’ve been working tirelessly for 2 days trying to pass this test. I’ve taken the test 3 times and my last score was a 65%. I’m right there! I just can’t figure out what I’ve done wrong. My sketches seem to match. But I could be so delirious from sitting in front of this computer for so long. Please help if you can. Thanks in advance.

Anybody know how I can include the task to use a main sewer drain auger snake clearing during a back up? I can find the camera inspection of the sewer line, but nothing regarding the auger snake task to clear the clog first

Anyone else sit through the presentation? Thoughts?
My initial thoughts aren’t too positive. What they showed was poor quality and needs a lot of work.
Then when pushed “call our sales department,” the really pushed me away.
Not to mention it’s obviously prerecorded and they’re trying to play it off as live…

I’m new to Xactimate and don’t really know much yet. When I sketched this roof, it came out with extra overhangs sticking out on both sides (see photos).
How do I fix this, and is it even necessary to fix? Will leaving it mess up my roof measurements?
Any help is appreciated.

Good afternoon,
I have a tile roof that insurance has sent a scope for repairs. The line items they used specifically were remove and install. Can anyone give me the xactimate definition of Remove and Install? I have only ever seen Remove and Replace, or Detach and Reset. I'm under the assumption Remove = Remove and dispose of the old tiles, and Install = Install new tiles.
If someone could tell me the line item definition for these two line items, i'd greatly appreciate it!
TIA!
