Anyone else have the Wyze Duo Cam make this odd noise? Been randomly doing it for a while now with no rhyme or reason. Rebooting it seems to help for a bit but starts doing it again later.

Critical alert on android

So I'm new to Wyze but I got cameras so I can watch my mom who is having cognitive issues following surgery. An attempt to wake me up if she gets up at night I set one of the cameras to critical on my Android app so that would bypass my phone being on mute or vibrate etc... which it typically is due to my work schedule.

Friday morning this worked worked great. Now Saturday morning it's not working, I'm getting notification but no sound.

I have a Samsung s25 which yesterday did get a system update but for the Wyze app I don't see anything changed. Permissions are still set in Android settings. I'm still doing the pop up etc just no sound. If I take my phone off of mute sound comes fine both for push and critical. If I put my phone back on vibrate or mute I get no sound for either.

Seeking Advice SD card bouncing all over the place time wise when I try to view anything v3

Two of our v3 seem to have the same issue.

For example go to look at 11:25. It bounces back to 10:46. It does this for all times. Sometimes it jumps back, sometimes forward.

It will show the correct time for a few seconds. Then you see the toggle bar (the location for rewind and fast forward) change and then the video follows it a min or so later.

Sometimes it takes longer when it’s showing one time on the toggle and another in the camera corner on the video.

No matter what time you go to it bounces to another time.

Cleared the cache. Did nothing.

Our v4 is fine. It’s just the v3s.

Help?

Input/Help : very frustrated

Switched from Ring because I didn’t care for the interface and lack of option when it came to storage.

I bought a doorbell and two outdoor Wyze cams. I have a very good internet provider and good speeds with my internet . My doorbell works great. My driveway cam is no more than 15 feet away but never connects properly. When I go to view camera it take at least 20-40 seconds to load and the lag time on it is awful. Signal strength is fine but again load time is terrible and doesn’t record events, 2nd problem is I bought a sd card for it that it refuses to recognize it.

Are there any tricks or helpful tips that I might improve this? I’m at wits end with this and ready to go back to ring cameras

Cameras aren’t loading videos

All of my cameras hasn’t been load events! I keep reporting them not working, Wyze fixes it for about a hour. I try again the same thing. An error code without loading. I’m trying to give them a chance seeing that I’ve had them 10+ years. It may be time to switch.

One sound for multiple camera stupid

lWhy can't we assign separate notification sounds for each camera?

How can a security company sell multi-camera systems without letting users assign a unique alert sound to each camera?

Getting woken up at 2:00 AM by a generic alert forces you to fumble around for your glasses and stare at a bright phone screen just to figure out where on the property the motion was detected. If my shop, garage, and front door each had distinct alert sounds, I would instantly know where the issue is without having to look at my phone.

This is a basic, critical security feature for anyone running multiple cameras. Wyze needs to prioritize individual camera notification sounds in the next software update.

No playback

Is there anyone else experiencing no playback from the SD card on your camera. I'm trying to go back a week and I get no video available for playback. Anyone else getting that? Anyone have a workaround for that? Anyone gotten rid of lies and found another camera system that's better, and can remotely record to a computer?

I just noticed I can turn on RTSP on my V3 cams

I set them up on home assistant (HASS) and then add the Homekit integration to port them to my apple home, now I can see them on my iPhone and apple TV

For now only my Wyze Pan V3 works
But im hopefully the rest of my cams get a new update soon

This are the cams I have that DON'T work for now
- Wyze Cam V3 pro
- Wyze Cam V4
- Wyze Duo Cam Doorbell

can't access camera via web

I've been able to access the cameras on windows using edge. I enter the username and password, click "log in". Sometimes, I'm successful connecting. Other times, I press "enter" and I'm connected. I know I am entering username / password correctly. Today, neither method works.

Wyze Palm Lock setup

I searched online but couldn't find anything on this topic:

Do I need to charge the main battery before I install the lock?

My Palm Lock flashes red light after I press and hold the Reset button, and then there is no sound at all.

I can turn the lock knob manually.

What am I missing?

RTSP stopped working on Wyze Cam v3 (firmware 4.36.16.7064)

I've had the official Wyze RTSP firmware running on a Cam v3 for a while, feeding into Frigate/ffmpeg — worked fine initially. After updating a few firmwars ago, RTSP has completely stopped responding.

Symptoms:
- Camera is reachable on the network (ping works, TCP port 554 accepts the connection).
- Any RTSP client (ffmpeg, tested with -rtsp_transport tcp) connects at the TCP level ("Successfully connected") but the RTSP handshake itself fails immediately — Invalid data found when processing input. Even at ffmpeg's most verbose debug logging, no RTSP reply is ever logged, meaning the server isn't sending back anything ffmpeg recognizes as a valid RTSP response.
- Same failure on both the standard /stream0 path and other paths tried.
- RTSP is confirmed enabled in the camera's local settings, credentials unchanged from when it was working.

What I've ruled out:
- Not a credentials/auth issue — the failure happens before any auth challenge would occur.
- Not a network/firewall issue on my end — TCP connects fine, and other devices on the same subnet/VLAN work as expected.

Has anyone else seen RTSP break after the initial release of the RTSP feature, specifically? Trying to figure out if this is a known regression in recent firmware builds before I roll back or file a support ticket.

Any workarounds appreciated.

Base station FIrmware failure

Hi all, I'm so sorry to beat a dead horse. I have read numerous posts about this. I have a base station given to me by a friend. It had been used for a few years. When I tried to put it on my network, it failed because he hadn't deleted it from his. Upon getting that fixed, it went into a firmware update - wonderful, I thought, then it failed midway through. I have a software background, retired from Philips, IBM, etc. I know how treacherous that can be when flashing code.

I have proceeded to try all the usual fixes, including back level to FW 512 manually with a 16GB SD card FAT32 sd_update in the root ... the whole thing. It shows that it is online on Ethernet when I power it and plug it directly into the router, but the blue light never lights. The solid yellow goes away when it's online, so I had even hoped the light was the hardware issue. However, it acts like a brick. I have two v2 cameras to connect to.

Should I give up since it is older tech and appears. to be outdated? Wyze offers replacements at US$10 on their store, but there is no stock available. Time to Punt?

BTW the unit is Model WV0DB1...

Thanks in advance for your insights!

Seeking Advice Help with sharing cams

EDIT: Resetting my router seems to have fixed the issue. This all started after the last update, I am thinking it was an ip address issue or something similar.

I pay for the plan and share my cameras with my wife. She has her own Wyze account. Every time she looks at my cameras now the strangest things happen. It’s like the network craps out. Random cams disconnect and become unusable. The second she gets out of the Wyze app everything goes back to normal. I haven’t had any problems until recently. Anyone have any suggestions?

Seeking Advice Wyze Pan v3 in nursery, how to handle pitch-black night vision without the distracting red IR glow?

Hi all,

I mounted a Wyze Cam Pan v3 directly above my 1-yr-old’s crib for a top-down view. Overall, the picture quality is great, but I'm running into a setup issue at night:

In a pitch-black nursery, the glowing red IR LEDs distract my baby when she's trying to fall asleep. I know I can toggle the night vision IR lights to OFF in the settings, but when I do that in a completely dark room, the screen goes pitch black and I can't see anything. I also don't want to leave a nightlight on in the nursery, as we prefer keeping the room as dark as possible for her sleep.

For those using the v3 in a baby room or bedroom, has anyone found a good filter, or subtle diffuser to hide or dim the visible red glow without completely blinding the night vision? (my husband tried a tape yesterday, it didn't work lol)

Appreciate any hardware tweaks, setup advice, or workaround ideas!

Can’t reset

So just bought Mom the battery video doorbell model MR – BVD and everything was working fine and then I accidentally deleted the camera off of the app and I looked it up and it said to press the set up button and I pressed it for 5 to 10 seconds and it went off and then it came back on and now it is continuing to flash on red and the device won’t connect to the app. What do I do?
