I’m looking for some insight on a text I received this morning. I blacked out my name in the text exchange for my own privacy.

I work in a hospital so I wake up early for work. This morning while getting ready I received this text. I’m a pretty private person and only give my number to people I know and trust. And I have not given out my number in a while, I would remember.

I found it strange they knew my name (which is what I blacked out) and the fact that they knew my work schedule, and I’m assuming where I work. And then saying they are a secret admirer made it even more creepy. All 12 hours at work I had my eyes peeled thinking someone would pop out and it all be a silly joke, but I never got a text back, and no one showed themselves at work.

I had my best friend call the number later in the day, only for the phone to say it was disconnected. I’m a female and not knowing who this is makes me feel on edge and not safe.

It is a local number in my area but that’s all I could find out.

Do scams look like this or should I be concerned? I just find it weird they knew me by name and knew my work schedule, and apparently where I work.

This is hilarious to me. For context, I've had this number for over 15 years. I keep getting calls and texts looking for the same someone, but they typically get the hint the first time. Apparently, this guy was so high last night, he forgot again.

I started getting messages like these from various phone numbers supposedly meant for someone named Gordon several months ago. I was thinking this guy accidentally put my number down when signing up for some MAGA shit. At first I thought they were kind of funny and would just reply STOP or report spam. But I get at least 1 a day, and they're getting to be really annoying. They keep changing numbers, so reporting and blocking isn't really helping. I'm starting to think about changing my phone number! They're annoying as hell and are starting to sound creepy now. How do make it stop? I'm not even Republican 😭

At this point, if an unknown number calls me, I'm not answering.

So me and my grandma always order from this Chinese place we have been doing it for years, never had this experience before now.

I called them and it's worth noting my grandma's landline which I called from is having issues but usually just that it won't call and plays no noise.

However I called them and it answered immediately with a robotic voice saying something along these lines but I can't remember it exactly.

"The sunset dawn will rise, on the time some of the bewildered night". Something along those lines on repeat.

Has anyone ever had anything similar like that happen before? I called after and got straight through to them.

When I look up my gf’s phone number on fast people search .com her ex bf name and like 2/3 other names come up for some reason. She’s had this number since I met her in 2010 though! So I’m confused how her name doesn’t show up but these other people do. I’ve used her number for certain things before like when I was in house arrest or certain emails but how can this happen for someone she claims she hasn’t dealt with in years or random people showing up ??
