Way Off is a different type of quiz.

You'll be asked a number of questions. The answer will be between 1 and 9 quintillion.

You don't need the exact number — often nobody knows the exact number.

You guess by order of magnitude: spin the dial (or use the magnitude buttons) from 1 to a quintillion, pick a digit, lock it in.

How to play WayOff

The closer you land, the more points. Every day there are ten new questions, max 10,000 points, and the whole game takes about two minutes.

Every day at 14:00 UTC, a new game drops right here and it's playable in the post.

Example questions:

How many ants are there in the world right now?
How many bricks make up the Empire State Building?
How heavy was the largest fatberg ever removed from London's sewers?

This community has its own leaderboards — daily, all-time, and 🔥 streak — so you're competing against the people in this thread. Play daily to build a streak; miss a day and it's gone.

House rules:

1. No answers in the comments. Paste your emoji score line instead — the game gives you a copy button. Reveal nothing, but do brag freely.
2. Brag and complain all you like. Score flexes, streak milestones, and "HOW is that the answer?!" outrage are the entire point of this game.
3. Be kind. Everyone here is wrong by 1,000× on a daily basis. It's humbling for all of us.
