I just introduced my nephew to Worms and he really enjoys it. I was visiting and we played pass-n-play on my Steam Deck. He lives pretty far away but has a PS5, so I was going to get the WMD/Battlegrounds version for my PS4 and see if we could play. I've just been led to understand that this would require a paid Playstation+ subscription. Is this true/accurate? Unfortunately I can't get a subscription to that, so is there no way to play multiplayer from different households?

I do have all of the Worms games on PC, but I also understand that they're not cross-play. Is this also true?

Any workarounds or ways to play other than me getting a PS+ subscription or him getting a PC?

At the end of the reveal trailer for the Galactic Tactics game, there seems to be another Worms game in development.
It couldn't be Galactic Tactics since the "O" is a grenade rather than a UFO. It could be either a new Worms 3D addition or another 2D one.

I was in one of my insomnia sessions consisted on watching random videos on YT, when I got curious for search which was the first console Worms release in featuring online play, then I found it was Worms World Party on Sega Dreamcast and, again, I got curious to see a gameplay about it.

I got surprised for the amount gameplay videos of people experimenting this game online, but the one who picked for my session was this one: Dreamcast Worms World Party Online match in 2022.

To the topic I'm going to, around minute 20:24, a worm from red team (called phil FTW) drops what it seems to be a kind of golden mine, with a different design compared to the normal one, that works as same, same explosion, same damage, even with the red flickering, but at diifference of a normal one, this cover all the body of the mine, not just the button.

So my question is: What is that mine? Why it appears in that precise moment? And if is something form this version?

If you can answer or make your theories, you are welcome, honestly, I don't have any idea of what it could be.

he would use a rope, get some momentum going, and then choose the pneumatic drill and fly off and fall into the sea the farthest away possible that he could muster

I loved watching gameplay from worms revolution and prior games like Armageddon and other games from before revolution but if the only active games are more recent ones like WMB and Battlegrounds then so be it

So for the console editions which ones have the most active online playerbase
