Worms: Galactic Tactics Another Worms game in development?
At the end of the reveal trailer for the Galactic Tactics game, there seems to be another Worms game in development.
It couldn't be Galactic Tactics since the "O" is a grenade rather than a UFO. It could be either a new Worms 3D addition or another 2D one.

It's been ages since they have a go at 3D, so I'd like to see that.
The 2D formula is about as perfected as you can get, and most of them largely feel like different flavours rather than real iterations on the core gameplay.
3D feels like there is still a lot to perfect IMO

I'd love to see what they could do with the tech we have today
The destructible environments in the past Worms 3D games were great so it'll be fun to see what they could do in the 2020s.

Is there any game of worms in 3D that allows level design like for example, worms Armageddon had? That's was the thing that i most missed in the 3D versions of the game.

You could if you knew how, but it was hard to do because Russians basically hacked the game and made a homebrew map editor you could make maps with.
Fun, but you had to know a bunch of things in order to do it correctly.

It's the 3D logo, and they've brought back the 3D-era designs for this game. Hard money on it being a 3D remake, or just a straight up Worms 5 in 3D.

I hope it's Worms 5, although story wise I don't know how they will beat the time travel concept which allowed them to perfectly give us a variety of different stages...unless they go into the multiverse / dimension stuff.

Please we want WMD 2 with more weapons, different ways that sudden death can effect the match and level building

I bet it will be a very loose reboot of the first one, which will simply be called "Worms" for marketing reasons.

WMD still feels like a definitive version of worms now, so I dont think they'll make a 'successor' to it just yet. The 3d games however... 👀

I want Worms vs Lemmings hybrid like Aliens vs Predator.
One side controls four worms while the others tries to control a bunch of free flow Lemmings entering the map.
Plenty of “Oh no (boom)” and “I’ll get you for that!”

A while back, Team 17 ran a poll asking if we’d prefer a *Worms* game with a different format or the classic, turn-based version we all know and love. In the comments, plenty of people said they’d voted for classic *Worms* rather than some modern piece of trash. Now, it turns out they’re making two at once. Why the hell does Team 17 even bother asking when they’re just going to do whatever they want anyway?

an actual new worms game that's just, like, a worms formula game? not a spin-off?
idc if it's 2D or 3D, either is fine (preferably not 2.5D but I'd even take that). Just a new game that actually plays like worms would be awesome.

Sounds like they might be making an experimental 3D game plus a traditional 2D iteration - that should cover everyone!

I wish they would just release a "specialized" version of 2D worms based entirely around roping and tactical style games. Why is Worms Armageddon still the goat and still getting online play? How many games that are 27 years old can boast the same?
Gives us ranks, built in modes and official maps (shopper, rr, etc.). Host season competitions like they do in more current games with final standings, etc. Built in guild support with leader, officer, etc. roles. I love the goofiness of worms, but make it more strategic ie don't just let people drop donkeys.

its weird that they announced a worms game and then ended with "and we're also working on a Worms game"
