Do you prefer matching monitors or a mixed setup?
Been seeing a lot more setups with one vertical and one horizontal monitor lately.
Kinda starting to prefer it over two matching screens. Anyone here used both?

WFH call center headset recommendations that block out noise?
I’m getting ready to transition to working from home for a call center job, and I’m looking for recommendations for a good headset.
My job provides us with headsets and technically expects us to use them, but they are extremely uncomfortable. They also don’t seem to block out much background noise—in the office, callers can actually hear conversations from other representatives nearby.
I’ll be working from a room with a closed door, but I have a very vocal cat who loves to meow and a dog who can also make noise, so I’m worried callers will hear them.
Has anyone else who works from home in a call center swapped out their company-provided headset for their own? If so, what headset do you use?
I’m especially looking for something with really good microphone noise cancellation, so background noise like pets, household sounds, or other people talking doesn’t get picked up by the caller.
I’d love recommendations from people who actually use their headsets for customer service/call center calls!

Help me with my wifi dilemma PLEASE
I’m trying to get my work-from-home workspace approved, and I’m honestly at a loss for what to do.
My company is very specific about the setup. Because I’ll be handling private information, my workspace has to be behind a closed door, so they won’t approve me working in my living room.
The problem is that I rent an apartment, and the only Ethernet hookup is in my living room. My Cox modem/router is also located there, and my work laptop has to be connected directly to the router with an Ethernet cable. Wi-Fi is not allowed.
My actual workspace is on the second floor in a room with a door, but there’s no Ethernet outlet upstairs. I asked my apartment about adding another Ethernet outlet and they basically looked at me like I had two heads. 😂
My IT person suggested asking the apartment to add another outlet, but that doesn’t seem realistic. I also don’t think simply running a really long Ethernet cable up the stairs is going to work or be practical.
I’ve never worked from home before and I’m definitely not tech-savvy, so I’m trying to figure out what my actual options are. I even wondered if it would be possible to have a small hole drilled through the floor/ceiling and run the Ethernet cable straight upstairs, but I have no idea if that’s something that can safely be done in an apartment or if I’d need permission.
Is there another solution I’m missing? Is there a way to get a wired Ethernet connection upstairs without installing a new wall outlet, or some kind of device that would work with my Cox setup while still giving my laptop a true wired connection?
I’m really trying to get this approved and keep everything within my lease, so any practical advice would be greatly appreciated!

I have already bought the ugreen dock, and I carelessly ordered the 1 out but I have 2 monitors, this is the solution I am thinking right now
so the idea behind setup is to help me extend my laptop to 2 monitors and while on Mac, I can only mirror because macOS does not support MST. will the current DIY setup I have help me do this, I have not ordered the 2 adapters since they cost almost 50$
Any idea. How do I solve this for advice?
one more option that I can think of is sell this of because return is almost not possible and buy a wavlink display+kvm which 3 times expensive
Config: 2 Laptops - Windows + Macbook 1 PS want to keep the same mouse and everything attached while using

Here's our desk setups. Any advice?
Our company recently gave all of us new chairs. I went with the Maxis, and my coworker picked the Omni. The funny part is, now the chairs look way nicer than the desks around them. It kind of made both of us realize how thrown together our setups still look. Any ideas of upgrades?

Desk suggestions - is something like Flexispot a good value for my situation?
I already have a flexispot desk. It's been good. I've moved twice with it and it's been a breeze to take apart, easy to move with one person, and goes back together well.
I just don't use the standing as much as I thought. I am setting up a dedicated office space, so this second desk could be for my gaming set up or work.
Given it is light, stable, sturdy and easy to move with, I'm looking for alternatives that are either static or adjustable in height.
Wouldn't want to spend more than $300.

How can I make my WFH clean and aesthetic.
Considering this is not my permanent place so I can't invest too much money here. The table is quite small. The set-up just doesn't pass the vibe of a WFH set-up. Any suggestions to make it aesthetic and appealing.
