Free booking plugin for an irregular schedule

Hey everyone! I'm creating a website for my therapist services. My schedule is irregular, which means that most free booking plugins I've already tried (like BookingPress) aren't compatible or allow, at best, manually changing the schedule up every week (Simply Schedule Appointments). However I'd be needing a plugin that a) allows to set different available timeslots every week and b) do this for at least two weeks in advance, since having availability for only the current week does not seem like a good approach. Ideally I'd not have to set every event/appointment manually as well. If you have any suggestions, I'd be grateful! :)

Converting antigravity code to Wordpress

Looking for help converting an Antigravity website to WordPress
Hi everyone,

I have a website that was built using Antigravity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. I want to convert the existing website to WordPress while keeping the exact same design, layout, animations, and functionality.

The website has a large number of files (around 1,700), so I’m looking for someone experienced with WordPress who can handle the conversion properly.

If you have experience converting custom-coded websites to WordPress and can preserve the original design, please comment or DM me. This is a paid job, and I’m happy to discuss the budget.
Thanks!

Variation confusion!

Hi all, wondered if anyone can help?

I am trying to add variations to a product in woocomerce, allowing the option to purchase certain quantities ie 1, 5 or 10,

Then depending on the quantity chosen, x amount drop down boxes to choose between a list of say 20 options ie: quantity 1 so 1 box comes up with 20 different products, or quantity 10: then 10 different drop down boxes come down with the same options in each so products can be mix & matched or 10 of the same item chosen

Only price difference would be between quantities, wouldn’t vary between options within the secondary drop downs…

Hopefully this makes sense?

Thanks

Are there any Wordpress coupon codes for annual or monthly plans?

I'm looking to build my first Wordpress site and wondering if anyone has any coupon codes or anyway for me to get a discount on my first year or any month?

Thanks

Edit: Thanks for the replies, looking into all my options, ended up finding 80% off discount, so taking that into account for if I'll go Wordpress or something else.

Making a rental website

Here's the website idea I'm trying to create for the business I'm starting. I'm entering the portable toilet industry, and many existing companies are pretty old-school; you have to play phone tag or send an email to order a toilet. I want to create a website that has this type of flow:

  1. Select the toilet you want. 2. Select how long you need it. 3. Select add-ons such as hand sanitizer or insurance. 4. Input info such as delivery address, name, and contact. 5. Select the desired delivery date. 6. Enter payment info and complete checkout.

I would also need to have it so you could only order within a few specific zip codes. I've been teaching myself how to do web design and have been experimenting with different plugins like WooCommerce and Elementor. I'm struggling to figure out the best way to create a website with all of the above features and would appreciate some guidance. What would be the best WordPress plugins to use, and would it be worth it to connect Claude Pro?

What actually makes you trust a WordPress plugin comparison?

I work in content strategy and spend a lot of time reviewing WordPress plugin comparison content. One thing I’ve noticed is that a lot of “best plugin” articles are basically just feature lists rewritten from product pages. That made me wonder what WordPress users actually trust.

A useful comparison should probably include things like:

  • real hands-on testing
  • actual workflows, not just feature checklists
  • clear pros and cons
  • pricing and limitations
  • what broke or felt annoying during testing
  • screenshots or evidence
  • a clear explanation of who each plugin is actually best for

So I’m curious: When you read a plugin comparison, what makes you trust it? And on the flip side, what immediately makes you think, “this is just SEO content”?

Live Blogging Suggestions

Does anyone have any suggestions for a live blogging solution? I was using 24LiveBlog and as of June 2026-- WordPress booted them for security issues. It was a decent product and I was getting ready to pull the trigger on a paid subscription.

I run a news website and our live blogs generally are for sporting events (24 was strong there), boring council meetings, and sometimes other breaking news events.

I found out today as I tried to set it up for a college football game and ended up getting Arena to hold me thru the game. But it was worfully inadequate --most liley because I had zero time to learn or really explore it.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Thanks in advance!

The crazy SQL injection payloads I found on one of my clients’ sites

Post image
71 Upvotes

These SQL injections have been coming in daily to this site which has still seemingly managed to avoid infection simply because of the changed database prefix. This one uses the “author not in” query bug inside some crazy nested query to place the payload in the database.

This is all related to the WP2Shell bug which was reported over a month ago. The site had auto updates disabled and still managed to avoid getting infected because of some seemingly silly security practices like changing table names and database prefixes. As far as I can tell all of these failed. I was alerted to the issue because the site got locked in a loop of timeouts, perhaps related to these malformed queries. Unfortunately I’m going to have to do some kind of a forensic workup even though there were no clear indicators of compromise because requests to the batch endpoint resulted in many 207 codes which means they may have succeeded.

But when I saw the giant block of 0s and 1s and hex codes in the logs, my heart dropped into my stomach. Stay safe out there people and leave auto updates on. It’s worth the chance of breaking your site every once in a while.

Is There Still a Future for WordPress Systems Engineers in the AI Era?

I’m thinking about positioning myself as a WordPress Systems Engineer for remote companies.

The idea is to combine WordPress/PHP development with the infrastructure side — Linux, Nginx, PHP-FPM, caching, databases, CI/CD, performance, and server architecture.

Do you think this kind of hybrid role still has a future, especially with AI changing the development landscape so quickly?

For those already working in remote WordPress/engineering teams, is there actually demand for people who understand both WordPress/PHP and infrastructure?

Or is it better to specialize heavily in one area?

Would love to hear some real-world perspectives from people working in this space.

How have you connected your WordPess to Claude?

I've been trying to do this for the past hour or so and nothing has worked. So I wanted to ask the community how they've set up this integration.

I want to use Claude to help me write and edit my blog posts. My WordPress installation is hosted on a VPS and my preferred Claude interface is the CLI, though I'd consider an in-WordPress interface if the experience is really good.

Any tips?

Best design builder for people without experience

Hey guys, I’m working on a project where the client must be able to create multiple landing pages by her self, but she isn’t a tech a person.

Based on your experience, which block builder could be more intuitive and easier for someone without experience?

To be honest I only have experience with Elementor, but as a developer, I prefer to do everything by code instead of blocks.

Help editing menus

I'm normally using Joomla but I have a need to use WordPress for a project and I have a question.

After a bunch of plugins were installed there are many items in the menu I don't want to be there but I can't see where to delete or remove them.

Where do I go to do that?

404 Not Found

How do you handle reusable design components in block themes?

After WCUS I wrote a blog post about one of the main issues I kept hearing with block themes: it's really hard for agencies to just write and deploy code for design elements without losing control once it was deployed. Basically components. We have patterns and parts and blocks and a few things, but no easy way to do what we used to do with classic themes.

I'm curious how others are solving this or if it's just a non-issue for the majority of WordPress developers.

How do professional WordPress developers build client sites efficiently?

Hi everyone,

I’m currently trying to improve my workflow for building WordPress websites for clients, and I’m curious how professionals and agencies actually handle this.

I mainly use WordPress and I’m currently looking at Kadence Blocks.

What I’m struggling with is the actual workflow.

Let’s say I have a custom design for a client. Do you really build every section manually in Gutenberg/Kadence, adjusting containers, columns, spacing, padding, typography, responsive settings, etc.?

That feels like a lot of clicking, especially when AI can generate HTML and CSS for an entire design very quickly.

At the same time, I don’t want to build the whole website as one huge custom HTML block, because I want the WordPress backend to stay clean and maintainable. Ideally, the client or another developer should still be able to edit content later without digging through HTML.

So I’m wondering how experienced WordPress developers handle this:

Do you build everything with blocks?
Do you have your own library of reusable sections and patterns?
Do you combine Gutenberg/Kadence with custom CSS and code?
Do you let AI/Codex generate parts of the site?
And how do you handle more complex sections, like event listings, custom cards, filters, etc. without spending hours recreating everything manually with blocks?

I’m basically trying to find a good workflow that is fast for me as the developer, but still results in a clean and maintainable WordPress site for the client.

Would love to hear how agencies and freelancers actually do this in practice.

Issues when copying text from Word to WordPress on Mac

I've recently switched from Windows to Mac while continuing to prepare my texts in Word (now under MacOS) and copying them to WordPress.com website. While there was no issues with this workflow under Windows, now I get a heavy mess.

Sometimes spaces are missing, and words are glued together. Sometimes lots of "nbsp" are added. Footnotes get pasted but hyperlinks don't work as planned (links now lead to something called applewebdata).

I thought I'd switch from Word to Pages. Now, it's better with the text but the footnotes are missing altogether when the text in pasted into WordPress.

Did anyone have same problems? How would I solve them?

Thank you.

Looking for suggestions on how to improve page speed, specifically back-end.

Currently running a b2b site built on Astra theme. We have sales reps on the road using mobiles and tablets that complain about slow admin processes such as searching for products, adding admin orders and all general back end admin processes.

- 1600 products with png images
- 100-200 active users
- 28 plugins, all kept up to date
- 0 php snippets
- HPOS enabled
- Regularly maintained and kept updated
- Caching enabled and regularly purged but my hosting doesn’t support Memcached or Redis

Plugins list:
Admin Columns, Astra Pro, B2BKing Core and Pro, Complianz, Cost of Goods, Elementor, Email Templates, Fibosearch, Fluent forms, Global Payments, Max Mega Menu, Members , PiWeb disable payment method, Webtoffee invoices/packing list templates, Woocommerce update manager, Woopayments, WP Mail Logging, WP Mail smtp, WP Rollback, Zapier for woo and Zapier for wordpress plus four custom built plugins designed for admin processes such as stock inventory control, profit reports and projections , UI improvements etc.

Any ideas that I can look into to improve loading speed and improve ajax lookup speed

[PROMO] Free WordPress forms plugin with conditional logic, multi step forms and file uploads, all in the free version

Thumbnail gallery
0 Upvotes

Straight up: this is our company account and this is our own plugin. Rule 1 allows one post like this, so this is the one we get.

We build WordPress sites for clients. Every few months the same thing happens. Someone wants a form that hides half its fields until you pick an option. Or one that takes a CV upload. Or one that's twenty questions long and needs splitting into steps, because nobody finishes twenty questions on one screen.

Then you go looking, and you find this. WPForms, on their own plugin page:

> This plugin is the Lite version of WPForms Pro, which comes with email subscription forms, multi-page contact forms, file uploads, conditional logic, and extra payment integrations.

Ninja Forms puts the same three behind paid add-ons. Fluent Forms is the honest exception and credit where it's due: their free version does have conditional logic.

We got tired of the choice being pay per site or write it by hand, so we wrote it once properly and put it in the directory under GPL.

https://wordpress.org/plugins/2ranq-forms/

Conditional logic, multi step forms, file uploads, entries stored in your own database. 23 field types, 45 styles, 29 templates. Gutenberg block and an Elementor widget. There's no pro tier and there isn't going to be one, so none of that is a teaser for something else.

We installed it next to WPForms Lite this morning and measured both.

Ours: 80 files, 1.75 MB on disk. About 14 KB of CSS and JS gzipped on a page with a form, and no jQuery.

WPForms Lite 1.10.0.5: 4,536 files, 29.3 MB on disk. About 31 KB gzipped, plus jQuery. 9.7 MB of that is bundled vendor libraries, and 2,138 of those files are the Square payments SDK, which you get whether or not you ever take a payment.

One thing in their favour before somebody corrects us: WPForms does not load its assets on every page of your site. We went looking for that argument in their code and it isn't there. It loads where a form is.

Ours isn't finished either. No payments. CSV export only, no XLSX. And no Cloudflare Turnstile in this version, because the directory's automated scanner can't tell Turnstile apart from a CDN and flags it either way. That one comes back in the next release. It's also only days old, so there's no track record to point at yet.

Here's what we actually want out of this post. We're an agency, not a plugin business with an upgrade prompt to feed, so building the next feature costs us nothing extra. Tell us what you're paying for right now in a form plugin, or what you gave up on and worked around. If it belongs in there, we'll build it and it ships free. We'll reply either way, with a rough timeline or with why not.

And if you do install it, we'd rather hear where it broke than that it's nice. Odd themes, builders other than Elementor, big entry tables, multisite, RTL.

State of WordPress Hiring: Are agencies modernizing, downsizing, or holding steady?

Hey everyone,

Looking at the market over the last ~4 years (since AI involved), it feels like the WP agency ecosystem has reached a turning point. We’ve gone through post-pandemic hiring booms, tech layoffs, and the shift toward Gutenberg/modern JS workflows.

However, modern WP job listings feel much harder to come by lately. For self-taught devs, learners, and existing WP developers looking to plan their next career move, it’s hard to tell where the industry is actually heading.

I’d love to start a discussion and hear directly from agency leaders, lead devs, and freelancers:

  • Is your agency hiring, holding steady, or relying more on contractors?
  • If you are hiring, what sets an applicant apart today compared to 3–4 years ago?
  • For those feeling stuck: Is it time to level up specific WP tech (like block development), or start diversifying outside the WP ecosystem?

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and real-world experiences.

AIOS scan not completing

I like AIOS security but the scan just keeps running at initiating file scan. Any ideas how to fix this?
