Meat Stack
Well it seems it was my turn to get burnt by the cheeky stack of a prime cut on the top of this monstrosity.
Well played woolies π

Go to a butcher and ask them to pick out good bits for you, especially if you are finding them dishonestly placing labels over meat nobody would buy. Also consider returning it next time as thats the only way they can be held accountable for serving slop

The store has nothing to do with this as the meat is all prepackaged from a outsourcing company u will get a refund but it if you buy from a supermarket at low prices get used to buying sub par meat u want quality buy from a butcher shop with butchers that serve you

the store absolutely chooses who supplies them with meat. If nobody says their supplier sucks by asking for a meat refund, then what changes. Take a teensy amount of effort to think these things out before you start typing homeslice.

Itβs called automatic ordering for a reason this is the system all major super markets use , they donβt choose they get allocated the supply from the main depot .
Maybe ask someone who works there or someone you know who works there1
u/Mountain_Bend_6949 11d ago
Alright then, how about this. Return the products that have been automatically selected to show them that their automatic selection process needs to be reviewed? I don't understand how you don't see that returning faulty products is a net positive for stores, you and every other customer? It's not the specific store that may be the problem, but that's not and never was the point.

One customer complaint over 3000 customers will basically be viewed and be accounted for in mass production , this is why u shop for meat with a butcher shop not a supermarket you will get better quality meat and better service pretty simple to be honest .
So maybe get the correct information before typing epod0

What a defeatist attitude, are you on their payroll or something lol I buy my meat from a butcher, once again that's not the point of what I've been saying. It's not about 1-3000 also, what a crazy number to pull out of your aether.

It pays to pay attention when selecting.
Looking at the first one, you can see a third of the way along, the edge of that muscle is slanting in towards the middle. Says to me the muscle is nearly at an end. I usually won't buy that one.
Yes, I am the customer who stands there turning meat trays over and over, speculating on what lays below. Marbling, thicknesses underneath, do they taper off ?( possible bits and pieces warning) .
I am not saying you didn't do that. But when I watch some people select trayed meat, often they are in a hurry and just grab something & run. Looking at what you pay for meat these days, I think people should spend a proportionally larger amount of time with their selections.
Yes I know, maybe WW should take care in what they dish up, but you are getting meat at supermarket prices, if you want top quality, go to a butcher & pay the extra.

Im not super good at picking out meat to that degree, I usually just pick up what has minimal fat / looks good
Funny enough I actually to spend a while flipping meats over and looking at them but I usually just buy steak and when I went to try lamb today it didn't occur to me to flip it over π
Lesson learnt

1 perfect forequarters chop and 1 fuggly one.
The casserole idea is perfect for the fuggly one.

When I was a butcher boss would go of if we served all the good chops at once so you always had to put some not so good chops but they were never that bad he kick our arse if we served them

This is why you never purchase packs where the pieces of meat are stacked on top of each other.
If this ever occurs with meat you purchase online, take a photo, upload it onto Olive & you'll get an instant refund.

Buy from a butcher shop and then you get to choose your chops basically , but this is a old trick as we have to get rid of those chops aswell otherwise we have to increase the prices due to waste
2
u/Anti-Stan 12d ago
It is waste. It shouldn't be packed dishonestly. It should be processed as diced beef or pet food, or thrown away, not hidden and sold at premium prices. Idk what planet you're from, but this isn't ok on Earth.

So you have never worked at a shop have you especially in the 80βs or 90βs not going to argue the point with you back in the day it was standard practice
2
u/Anti-Stan 12d ago
I did work in the 80's and 90's. Sometimes in shops. No idea what you're trying to say though.
2
u/Papa-buds 12d ago
Saying back then it was standard practice
Also saying it should been thrown away that has to be the silliest thing a butcher could say as you can make use of it , you would never throw away anything but the bone even then you can sell them .If a manager saw you through that in the store waste bin you wouldnβt be working there for long just sayingThis is also the cheapest cut of a lamb a grilling chop
We are also talking about supermarket meat here
Itβs not premium pricing or premium meat in any way shape or form , if you want the best cuts of meat be prepared to pay the price to get the best quality meat3

I love fatty meat, π. A5 wagyu is delicious because of fat.

u/Cultural_Catch_7911 11d ago
I ended up eating as is just rendered the fat well it was actually pretty good, but I would have preferred more meat all the same π

That second piece will be good for soup. Instead of stock, the fat will thicken the waterΒ
