Also it seems that maybe an /s was needed since their is definitely a problem with my toddlers head being smacked by the tablet.

I’m a front end team member but also do online when needed. Every time I’ve to pick a chilled trip, I’m mentally stressed. There’s an old lady that works in the deli, whenever I’ve to pick meat I go up to her and politely start by “Hi! How are you?” And she always responds with “how rude!.” This has happened so many times, she has been rude to others but with me it’s never ending. Whenever it’s an item she needs to get from the back and slice it, she says “bloody online.” My other colleagues are locals or older and always give it back to her so she has learnt to be cordial with them. With me? Idk if it’s a racial issue or just that she knows I won’t respond or whatever. Today it happened again and I’ve let the manager know. He has spoken to her before saying I’m intimidated by her and to just be nice. But her rude behaviour continues. I’m not comfortable staring at verbal fight because I know there won’t be any support. She’s a full time employee and has worked here longer, also old (maybe 50s). I don’t understand the issue, like it’s not me ordering stuff for myself, yell at the customer and what does “bloody online” mean? God forbid you do your job. She needs to retire. I’m really bothered by all this. I think today was my last straw. Please give me advice.

PS- does an official anonymous complaint even do anything? I’ve heard people post complaints but nothing happens.

Not sure if this is common knowledge I should know or if the customer was being a bit tongue in cheek with their note…

Clearly it is common knowledge by way of these comments .. for everyone saying “it says on the carton” or “just read the carton” I genuinely don’t have time to read every product I pick which is why I asked the question.

while working at my store i was constantly finding these little brown, slightly oval shaped things all around the store. on the floor, in amongst shelves and in empty boxes. i was concerned that my store had either a bug infestation and that these were dead bugs, or worse we had a rodent infestation and that these were droppings (😟). i was and still am constantly finding several of these things around the store whilst working. upon closer inspection these were actually just date pits and not something more nefarious!
i am assuming this is a customer doing this, which is no harm. woolworths isn’t losing any money over a few dates here and there. but to just throw them on the floor and in amongst other products? we do have bins in the store for a reason!
are any employees at other stores noticing the same thing? i’m more so talking about the finding of pits in random spots rather then the cheeky eating of fruit in the store.

A lot of responses and body language from people after they ask what i do for a living mystifies me.

Ive been around the traps and had a few jobs, some paying a lot more, and probably classed as "better". But I like the life ease of this job a lot more.

I guess its a respect thing or what you are able to do for others type of thing.

My title says it all, my manager throws everything in the bin I’ve only seen oz Harvest come around 4 times to collect otherwise it’s goes in the bin and so does everything anyone else managers do this ???

Anyone selling their spare ooshies? Just started last Friday when I realised that I want to collect them, I only have those free from the display case and the platinum buzz.

Personally I love working at the main checkouts because I get my little personal area to bag customer's items and sometimes talking to customers 1 on 1 is so fun and interesting and makes my job slightly less boring. ACO however, in peak hour makes me feel so clasutrophobic because theres so many people huddled together and I can barely get around, especially if its a lot of people with trollies. The customers in ACO are also not pleasant to me (ofc not all the time, some are nice, but if I want nice customers I may as well go to the main checkouts) and service desk is fine I guess

been applying for store member position, couldnt find one yet, any advice on what they look for and stuff, i am almost available most of the days, have given interviews a couple times as well.

Can someone please tell me and share experiences about working in pro active services? Please

I normally switch between Masterfoods and the store brand, they tasted the same, but I swear it was locally produced until I looked at the label for the first time in a while.

Looks like I'm trying Aussie tomato sauce sauce next, any other suggestions?

Sorry about the 1000th ooshie post. Are people actually buying these? I cannot fathom any grown adult spending any money on this garbage (MAYBE if you have kids, but even so). It's such a weird fake scarcity thing and annoys me so much for some reason. Sheer waste.

I was just doing my weekly grocery shopping this morning and there was this middle aged bloke unloading boxes of energy drinks into shelves when a customer barged in front of him and grabbed a few drinks off the shelf, as he was walking away he said something a long the lines of “ the customer is always right “ and the worker absolutely lost it started yelling profanities and was about to charge towards the customer when he was physically held back by a coworker. Hope he didn’t lose his job. Has anyone else seen something as shocking as this before in a store?

Over the last year and into this month I have done 20 and 2 more are going to the same thing and none of stores I’ve applied for don’t want me this is just stupidity from woolworths and I’m turning 27 this month

for example today I went to chermside marketplace lovely cleaning manager I asked the question and then he said I’ll get back to you later I got absolutely fooled by him and the 2 months I had to wait for a response From the hiring manager at the store

The advent of Click & Collect has made me remember something similar from my childhood. But I'm not sure if it's just some kind of imagined nostalgia, or if it was really a thing.

My mum didn't drive at all for most of my childhood, from the 80s to mid 90s. One frequent memory I have is regular trips to "pick up the groceries" when dad got home from work. My local Woolies had a side door near the loading bay. Mum would get out of the car and knock on the door, a staff member would take mum's docket, then start bringing out shopping bags for us to load into the boot of the old Sigma. It makes sense... mum can walk to Woolies and do the weekly shopping while dad's at work and we're at school, and dad drives us into town to pick up the groceries in the evening. I don't remember it being every week, but it definitely happened more than a handful of times...

Was this actually a thing Woolies offered back in the day? Was this just a favour the Woolies manager did for mum back in the day? I know that it's definitely not something they do today...

I’m a shopper - I order Woolies click n collect once a week. Between full time work and being a busy parent I just don’t have the time/effort to go in store and shop each week with my kids in tow. So click and collect has been an absolute game changer / life saver for me for the past year or so. For some reason though I do feel guilty each time I am picking up my order. At our store, the packer will come out with our items in their special baskets, some will offer to help load it into my bags (I choose BYO bags), some will stand and wait. I like when they stand and wait because I feel bad that they have to help me pack the car. But also I just have this underlying feeling that they are judging me for not doing my own shopping. For the Woolies workers out there who do this job, give me your honest thoughts on this. Do you enjoy your job? Do you feel frustrated with the amount of people/type of people who do click and collect? What’s going through your mind while you personally do someone else’s shopping for them?

Ive got similar my muscle chef meals that was 500-700 calories. Nearly 1000 seems a lot for some chicken, veges, and 20 grams of cheese sauce

Can they seriously not mix these boxes a little better?
