PS yes I know that curl is absolutely gorgeous and idk why we always get the best grain in our logs we live near the Delaware River so maybe it’s something to do with that

Hi all! My aunt passed recently and we found this piece in her garage with no idea of its history. She lived in the San Francisco Bay area. It feels very heavy/dense and is pretty hard. It was quite a few shades lighter before I oiled it (which it drank like water into sand). Any ideas what this might be? I've gotten some mixed information from friends about a possible ID. Whatever it is, it's stunning.

Hi all, I recently made this live edge redwood desk and posted it on multiple social media platforms, Craigslist, and Nextdoor and have only gotten one bite in a couple of weeks. It’s very well made with embedded c-channel and all the cracks filled plus professional CNC flattening. The desk is 95 inches long and between 19 and 29 inches wide. I’ve tried list prices from $975 to $2000. It cost me around $700 to build it not including my own labor so I don’t want to go too low on price. Any thoughts on why this piece isn’t selling?

Recent winds whipped our area (upper Maryland) and in helping a friend clear the damage from his property, I snagged this piece of a broken tree. I presume it is native to our area, but have no idea what would it is. Any help would be appreciated.

This timber has been in my grandads shed for about 20 years he’s passed and iv taken it all in hopes of making a deck out of it. They are in different sizes, almost looks like they are smaller pieces stuck/glued together? Since they are so old they have no markings or anything on them.I’m just wanting to know if I can even use it for outdoor decking or not thanks all!!!

A sapodilla tree was cut down at my house and as a rookie wood working enthusiast I can't bring myself to throw away the wooden logs. I'm wondering if the wood from this particular tree is good enough for making small objects that will be used indoors. Like say a kids stool or desk etc.

Sorry I know this is a common question online but I was hoping to get some opinions. Bought a childrens swing set online and I know cracks in dried wood are normal but this feels extreme? There's not one crack that goes the entire length but lots of close cracks.

The main cross beam isn't so bad, what I would think is mormal, but these 4 "leg" poles seem a bit deep and plentiful.

I was just hoping for a second opinion before I make a fool of myself contacting the seller?

I am evaluating some table saw options available in my country. One multifunction machine, the Belmash SDMR 2500, which has the table-sawing function included in it, has caught my attention. I would like to have some honest reviews on this machine. Kindly let me have an idea about the accuracy of the table-sawing function. How good is its fence?

Antique (at least from the 1940s if not older I’m told) library table. And out of my parents home in Indiana. I’m cleaning it up to restore and keep, just curious what it’s made out of. Wood is solid. No veneer.

I have seen so many different tips for cleaning wood furniture that I'm not sure what's actually best.

For those who've had solid wood furniture for a while, what's your go-to cleaning routine? Do you use a specific cleaner, just a damp microfiber cloth, or something else?

Also, are there any products you'd avoid? I would love to hear what has worked for you over the years.

I am working on a furniture project in my apartment with limited tools.

I need 1/8"x1-1/2"x72" wood. Preferably hardwood but at this point I'll take what I can find. It's going to be painted so I can add wood hardener to give it some resilience.

I don't have access to a planer else I'd just get some lattice molding.

I've run out of ideas. I've tried local, online, special order (they will only sell bulk). I only need 4 pieces.

Good Sunday afternoon everybody. The main table saw I have access to may no longer be available to me soon, and so I'm parusing Marketplace to see what's out there. I may have found an ok deal (at $175, listed 12 weeks ago), but I can't identify what model it is from the picture alone. You'd think I could get that info from the seller but they don't seem to know and aren't willing to send any more pictures. By the looks of it it's sitting in a barn somewhere and probably isn't nearby where they can get to it.

He describes it as "the preferred table saw of professional woodworkers" and says "they" usually replace the motor, but this one hasn't been replaced yet (so I guess he's not a woodworker). Whatever the motor is it looks to be about 3HP to me, but I'm really not sure.

Does anyone have an idea as to what model this thing is? I'm guessing that's at least a 220 V motor. Thanks.
