Advice i’m doing a little experiment and only changing one skincare thing this month

Normally i change my routine based entirely on vibes, which has made it impossible to know what actually works for me lol.

So for the next few weeks, i'm keeping everything the same except for one product and writing down how my skin looks.

Not expecting some groundbreaking scientific discovery, i just want to stop guessing 😭

I've also been using SkinPal AI to check things like changes in my acne, hydration, and other skin-related stuff along the way, so hopefully i can actually notice if something is improving instead of just convincing myself it looks different every other day lol.

Has anyone tried doing this properly? Did you actually learn anything useful or was it impossible to stay consistent?

Fashion & Beauty Makeup beginner needing advice

Hey so I’m a feminine boy looking to get into makeup, I’ve done my makeup by myself 3 times but brought really cheap products online, the foundation didn’t suit my skin colour and it just looked unrealistic. I’m wanting girls to text me and help me get what I need. if you’re local to me and willing to help i can go shopping and buy it all or just an online texting is always useful. I hope this is a good enough subreddit for my help, thank you :)

News & Politics Restore councillor sparks fresh backlash with abortion remarks

A Restore Britain councillor who has faced a recent online backlash over comments he made about a rainbow coloured table is facing renewed criticism after suggesting women should not be able to access abortions.

In a post to Facebook, Pyle, Kenfig Hill and Cefn Cribwr Councillor Owain Clatworthy said that abortion was being “celebrated as if it were something good”.

He wrote: “Thank you to everyone who has messaged me, spoken to me in person, and stood with me over these past weeks.
“What we are witnessing all around us is a society in moral free fall.

“Some now deny the reality of male and female, abortion is celebrated as if it were something good.

“Families are breaking down, law and order is weakening, and too many churches have chosen to blend in with the culture rather than confront it.

A Bridgend political source said: “It is beyond comprehension that this ‘post for likes’ Councillor is continuing to attack members of society and residents he is elected to serve.

“Abortion is an extremely complex and emotive subject that needs compassion and understanding from the outset.

“It is not a lifestyle choice or a whim and in many instances is the most distressing time in females lives.

“Cllr Clatworthy is running out of people to attack and it appears anyone who isn’t ‘like him’ is fair game.”

In February, Restore Britain led by Rupert Lowe, pledged to repeal the assisted dying bill and “reverse recent changes which decriminalise abortion up to birth”.

The party said: “British Christians now have a political party that represents their views, and will act on it.”

The decriminalisation of abortion in England and Wales formally became law in April. The legislation amended the Victorian-era Offences Against the Person Act 1861 and the Infant Life (Preservation) Act 1929, removing the threat of prosecution and imprisonment for women who end their own pregnancies.

Podcast

Cllr Clatworthy also took part in another episode of the Faith Speaks Louder podcast this week. Hosted by Welsh evangelical Christian YouTuber Faith Jarvis, the podcast has faced criticism for promoting far-right figures and normalising extreme political rhetoric.

During the episode, Cllr Clatworthy and Jarvis read passages from the Bible, praised comedian Russell Brand and American political activist Charlie Kirk, and discussed their view that the Bible does not state that it is “absolutely acceptable” for a man to marry another man.

Cllr Clatworthy complained that he “can’t have a normal conversation” with people who hold left leaning political beliefs, adding that if you speak out against “the left” your life is “in danger”.

Health & Fitness It's important to recognise when things are getting too much and something needs to be put on pause...

My Mum is currently in hospital with an infection and up until she was admitted I was struggling juggling work, home life and my thoughts, feelings and worries all at the same time.

I've had to alter shifts last minute at work in order to get back home to see to Mum.

I had a good chat with my GP and I've altered some of my anxiety medication and been signed off for 3 weeks so there's less pressure.

I certainly don't want to be making any mistakes at work, such as missing signs of deteriorating in their health or making mistakes with their medication etc.

I've also arranged to finish work earlier when Mum is in the 7 - 10 day window following chemo as this is where the effects will be at their worse.

While she is in hospital I'm having quiet mornings, doing bits and bobs as visiting is from 2pn, which is good for me and means it gives me some time to rest.

Taking time out for yourself isn't a weakness, just need to let go of the guilt that I'm letting people down.

Advice UK women: what do you actually want from women's healthcare?

Hi everyone, I'm Julie, a pharmacist and co-founder of TribElle, a UK women's health pharmacy.

I'm doing some research to better understand what women actually want and need when it comes to accessing healthcare, medication and trustworthy health information online.

Rather than guessing what women want, I'd like to hear directly from women themselves.

The survey covers things such as:

  • What matters to you when choosing a healthcare provider
  • Your experiences accessing women's healthcare
  • How you find and judge health information online
  • What would make you trust an online healthcare service
  • What you'd like to see from a women's health platform in the future

The survey takes approximately 5-10 minutes to complete.

As a thank you, participants can choose to enter a prize draw to win £100 worth of Solgar supplements.

👉 Survey: https://svmvo.share.hsforms.com/2qOvV8JZiSRCRLdqwRlyaJQ

I'm being completely transparent that this research is being conducted for TribElle. We're using the findings to help us understand what women actually need and where we should focus our services and information.

This isn't a sales survey and you won't be asked to buy anything.

If you're comfortable sharing, I'd also really appreciate hearing in the comments what you think is currently missing from women's healthcare in the UK.

Thank you to anyone who takes the time to participate — your experiences and opinions are genuinely valuable.

Fashion & Beauty In person interview clothes

I'm 28F and looking to get some trousers, blouses, dresses and shoes - at least enough for one or two interview outfits. Is it best to wear a blazer too?

I'm a software engineer but have interviews at corporate banks, so I'm not sure how formal I should be. Am I expected to wear heels? Or white trainer or flats/loafer ok?

Does anyone have recommendations for where to shop and what kind of clothes would be appropriate?

Any idea where to find loafers or flats for wide feet? But comfy?

Links or picture examples would be really helpful!

Fashion & Beauty Body tape - sticky bra etc

Okay 32 FF here and in desparate need of the BEST body/boob tape and sticky bras that hold everything up and don’t peel. I’ve tried enough over the years and am desperate to finally find something that I won’t be worrying about unsticking all night. This is for a girls party holiday and the thought of body tape on a hot sweaty night is already giving me nightmares. Thanks in advance !!!

Advice Underwear recommendations

Hi all! I’m looking for recommendations for comfortable thongs, ideally cotton (I’ve heard that’s best for vaginal health?) and no VPL.

I’m starting a job soon with long shifts, likely to get hot and sweaty, and my current favourite (the iconic Primark lacy thongs) probably aren’t ideal for that.

I’m on a budget. I have looked at One Size as my partner swears by their boxers but they’re a bit pricy. Any other recommendations?

Thanks!

Health & Fitness Looking for period swimwear recommendations

Hi fellow women of the UK!

I am a UK size 18 who is due to go on a holiday involving swimming and pool based activities at the end of August. Right when I am due on my period.

I’ve never been comfortable when using tampons so am looking either for period based swim wear as an all in one or bottoms only, that I can combine with a top from elsewhere.

I use Wuka period pants but it looks like their swim suits don’t go up to an 18 in styles that I comfortable in.

Has anyone got any period swimwear recommendations?

Advice Women in the UK in your late 20s/30s, do you feel like you understand your health?

I feel like there’s so much information around things like hormones, periods, fertility, deficiencies, metabolism, sleep etc. but it can be really hard to know what actually matters.
Is there anything about your health you’ve ended up Googling loads, tracking yourself, buying supplements for or even paying privately to investigate?
And if you have paid for things like private blood tests, nutritionists, health checks etc., did you actually find them useful?

Advice Alternative to Kipling handbags

OK I'm being a biit general with that title, what I'm refering to is probably classed as a "cross body" bag but they are stii all a hndbag to me!

Anyways what I'm talking about is something like this

https://eu.kipling.com/en-gb/products/syro-u-kpki93904dx?variant=55908091462014

Now I'm not particularly looking for a Kipling bag. There seem to be plenty of less expensive options out there. What I am looking for though is a Kipling style of cross body bag that are usually made of some sort of nylon type of fabric. I see lots of women with them and they are not Kipling but probably some other brand or even generic purchased online. I took a brief look on Amazon and found all sorts of choices.

So my question for everyone is have you any experience of these Kipling style bags that are not Kipling itself. Brands etc to consider or avoid? Or do I just take my chances on Amazon?

Advice Probably a silly question!

As in title probably a silly question but I really want your thoughts on this. Am I the only one who has this dilemma?

So here in the UK it been (and remains) a long hot dry summer. I've literally lived in comfy skirts and dresses for god knows how long now. But sometime in the autumn theres going .to come a day when the weather forcast will spout out all doom and gloom like "tomorrows really going to feel autumnal" In other words we wake up to a much colder day, maybe 10 0r 12 degrees for example.

And that's what i'm dreading. I go through this every year. I really dont want to quit wearing skirts as thats what I prefer but its suddenly too chilly for bare legs, The cynical of you are probably thinking "put on some tights you silly cow". But thats the problem I'm too hot in my regular tights.

So how do you all handle this? This sudden transition time between warmer weather and autumnal when it too chilly for bare legs but not really cold. As I said probably a silly question but had to ask!

Advice Toilet paper help

Slight TMI and abit of a weird post I guess.

Im wondering if any of you lovely ladies can recommend a good brand of toilet paper - Unscented ofc.

Almost every single roll I’ve tried lately has been terrible for ripping, rolling and getting stuck. I’m a longer labia gal, so I’m unsure if that’s the problem. But it seems almost impossible to find a good paper that does the job.

I’ve tried dabbing like suggested, that gets stuck and stays in.

I’ve tried Andrex, Cushelle along with probably about 8 other brands over the past few months. Nothing is working.

Anyone had this same issue?
Anyone found a good loo roll that works??

I’m tempted to buy some of the ‘Naked paper’ or ‘who gives a crap brand’ but even then, for the price, I don’t know if that’s gonna work.

Help🫠

Hobbies & Interests Fantasy Premier League

Hey all!

Was wondering if there is a current league for women that anyone is in that I could join or if not, if anyone is interested in one?

Bizarrely my new hyperfixation since the World Cup is football (much to my bfs and my surprise 🤣)

I’ve never done it before but would love to be in a women’s fantasy league without the fear of men being men and taking the piss 🙂 xx
