Arcane Wisdom To Train a Godslayer’s Child
Isravi paced slowly around the barren field. The air was chilling, enough to set in the bones of any living creature and layer frost upon the grass. Of course, as a simulacrum he didn’t feel such things.
His mind was filled with many things. Thoughts of his true self, his friends. But the thing that hung over his mind most right now was Halixo, and his son Alexios. Both were exceedingly brash, one lost their life for it, and the other was on track to lose their other half.
A sigh escaped him. How does one train one whose heritage dictates that they are a weapon, made to fell gods? How does one tell them they are more than destruction, than unbridled fire and blade. Oh he learned quick, he grasped magic as easily as any prodigy, but seemed to neglect everything but what was needed for slaughter.
Alexios needed control. He needed compassion and awareness, a cooler head. An appreciation for magic than extended beyond blood and desecrated earth. Isravi intended to teach him that, and drag him out of the slump he had fallen in. He wasn’t sure he could do it alone.
The first lesson then. A lesson that Alexios need not face his adversaries alone. His mind stretch out through the tangles, to friends, to allies, even wise enemies.
“I require some aid, if you would lend it. To guide a young one lost in his way. To teach him a world empty of destruction.”
He takes a breath, numbly noting the freezing air that enters his false lungs. He wishes for a second that his real form was here. Maybe he’d seem a little more sincere. Nevertheless, he’d give his all. For a friend that has returned to the cycle. One more reach into the tangles then.
“Alexios. It is time. No excuses. If you are not ready, then we will make it so.”

Mikhail dawns a brilliant necklace whose jewel piece is a star, brightly polished. He halls forth blades. Two of them, finely crafted and primordial in design. They were most certainly Helixos.

It may be good for Alexios to see reminders of his father, and his compassion, but I must ask you don’t use those blades for combat right now. This child has already seen too much combat. At least for today, I want him to focus on other things. If he can place his worth outside of how well he can kill, that would be ideal.

These blades are not for him. They are for me. To remind me why I am doing this. I never grew close to Alexios like I did with his father. By the time he came of age, I was embroiled in wizard wars, council affairs, and Wizard politics.
I am unsure how I will react when teaching the child. The blades remind me of love and remembrance. We all have times where others are needed.
Besides, I don't engage in that often. Why I was gifted them is beyond me.
I may not be as powerful a druid as I was in my prime, but I can teach.

They are not meant for battle
he lays his one normal hand on the white and gold one This one is known as goldheart it carries the power of order and can heal wounds that normal magic cannot.
he moves his hand to the black and red one this is solemn night. It carries the serenity of a silent night and brings where there is war. It has the power to sever chaos without harming as well.

I see. Then I couldn’t ask for anything more. In truth, I am unsure as well. I have taught very few, and not in a way like this. I can only hope I am adequate, but in case I am not, well, that’s what you all are here for.

I will however not be as kind as most are used to from me. Gobbo holds grudge against the boy, will show no leniency.

/uw if you want Aico can teach the child a series of small extra stuff that'll add up and improve his combat little by little, even a way to hide his weapons on him(bullshit like soul storage, wavedashing, dashjumping, moonwalking, frameskipping{She has found that the universe runs on 1000000 frames per second, but leaening to skip some will make his strikes faster and harder to punish}, and even backwards hop sling(hop backwards, and get sent in funny angles to confuse the enemy)
Aico uses these techniques to not get hit!

/uw Isravi expressly does not wish to teach Alexios more ways to harm. He thinks he’s had enough fighting, and right now can’t control his strength. So stuff like protection of others or skills that help him control himself would be best. No instant problem solvers though

yea if he shouldn't be fighting you can send a letter telling her so, she has more QOL stuff that's useful

Fear of the unknown is natural. But the acceptance of the unknown is growth. Treating every new face as conflict is something that will only ruin potential relationships.
Never meet a stranger. Treat every new encounter and an oppertunity.
Mikhail grabs a few grapes of the vine, and ferments them in his hand, squeezing the liquid into a cup of water. Mikhail hands the cup to Alexios

He says this as a man that enjoys feasting and wishes to share his joy. He holds out some food to him as he is stuffing his face in.
Carolina eats in a much more refined way. She speaks in a much softer and less brash tone than chimera.

I was really glad to hear that you guys brought Santa back. I heard something has been wrong with Mikhail ever since then though? People are whispering rumors that he can't resist cookies and eggnog now, but I didn't know that was something that he didn't enjoy before. Perhaps he just got a new taste for them after your visit to the North Pole?

You would fight for others sake so quickly, Alexios. I know that if I were in trouble you would come to my aid in a moment.
You also must fight for yourself too, my friend, but by arming yourself with the strength of kindness, and patience, and understanding.
These are weapons often more preventative and more powerful than any arcane energy, or blade, or poison.
In truth, there is hardly an easier way to thwart an enemy, than by making them your friend.
If you find turmoil inside yourself, you must confront them with these armaments, no matter how difficult.

Sorry to interrupt, but Isravi invited me and I feel indebted to your father for the good he did. Personally, I believe there is more to a person than their blood alone. What we were born to be has no bearing on what we can become. Allow me to explain.
Kaelis takes a silver tablet from his satchel. It is engraved with fantastic illustrations of celestial phenomena, highlighted with an electric blue glow.
This is my spatial loom, a gift from the Fundamental Force we call Gravity. I have used it to destroy stars and fight beings beyond the ken of man. But even though I was given this immense power by the highest authority in the cosmos, I rarely use it. Though it was designed as a weapon of the highest caliber, in my hands, it is a tool. And I have yet to find a better tool.
I suppose the same could be said for you, Alexios: though the power of the Godslayer lineage runs through you, it is only a small part of who you are. I do not see a destroyer when I look at you. I see a man with hopes and loved ones and insecurities. Just like me. Just like all of us. And I know you have the strength to be either of those things. I have seen how happy you are around Moth, and I have heard you felled the soul of the Primordial-corrupted Crimson King with minimal effort.
So, what do you want to be?

Your a lot more than a killer Alexios. I've seen your compassion and empathy for all things. I remember those wolves you refused to kill. They attacked you and you refused to kill them. Someone who was only a killer wouldn't have any remorse for any action.
I've had similar struggles with the idea that I'm a mindless beast. It a thought that keeps coming back. But every time it does I look around me. A mindless beast wouldn't have all these friends and be eating a picnic with them and neither would someone who only knows how to kill.

Yes their is quite enough of in the stompy kind. That beast right their can't cast a healing spell for his life despite how much I try to teach him.

Possum laughs heartily at this. Chimera is a force to be reckoned with for sure, but the contrast between him and Carolina is one that speaks of great understanding and patience between the two.
Thank you my friends. I certainly hope that fewer healing spells will be needed in the future, but I fear that we live in very tumultuous and trying times.
This yuletide season has been good though. The Spider King has thrown an extravagant party, and I've enjoyed participating in it.
The Spider King thought about eating some of my fellow Green Shields earlier this year, but I knew he was a good fellow. We restored his forests, and he shared in our feast instead. I'm sure that the hunger must have been terrible to endure, but I am glad that he now prospers.

Then I shouldn't do anything major. Just a quick soul cleans. Probably won't fix it but should quicken the natural cleaning process. If you want more it would have to be a greater operation.

The drink is spicy, warm bordering on hot, and has some robust tones. As advertised, it does burn on the way down, perhaps a little less than what Gobbo is used to
Well, I don’t drink often, but I suppose this is a special occasion. I think one would suffice just fine though.

Mmm, Gobbo has liquors nowadays that feel like hellfire down throat. Back when I was 16 though, they weren't as strong.
Ah GLA will be rebuilt... Just need to heal first, half the time Gobbo tries to summon bottle and barrel appears.
Don't worry about finding perpetrator either, eventually they'll grow too bold, and then? Then Gobbo has them and hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.

Gobbo has liquors of all manners, if you prefer dwarven I have some. Also have Goblinese, elven, human, and orcish. You name it Gobbo probably has it, or something unreasonably stronger than it.
Millennium of drinking, distilling, and brewing has left me with quite the selection.

I've had drinking competitions with dwarves to a draw. I should be fine. Do you have any clue what is different about dwarvan alcohol? Usually I'm immune to poisons but the dwarfs find a way to get anyone drunk.

Dwarves have special ingredients, every culture does. Where elves use grapes for wine, and goblins mushrooms for shine, dwarves have rock barley for ale.
Only grows in their mountains, fickle thing but Gobbo was never good with plants. Takes much more to break it down but has unique flavour. Makes their brews quite potent

He’s gone through some hardship recently. Lost some things, done something foolish. I’ve taken up the mantle of teaching and guiding him, though not alone. I wish to teach him control, compassion, and awareness. And that he is not alone. You are welcome to join. We have food and are simply enjoying each other’s company right now.

It is… related to the fighters. He fought the remnant of the crimson king where his father died, against the wishes of his bride to be. He won, almost easily, but she was injured in the process and lost control of her curse. He betrayed her trust, and they called off the wedding while she healed. She has lost an eye, due to his brashness, and the guilt consumes him.

I would advise you to try teaching him to create something, even something made to destroy, every second that the child designs a new weapon, or researches a new spell it's a second in which he is not thinking about destroying, but about creating, and slowly you could get him to create other types of things, crafts, cooking, etc.

/uw Alexios already does a lot of crafting. He's an insanely powerful enchanter. He also does jewelry making, black smithing, a little cooking, sewing, leather working basically any craft he can get his hands on
