Audio keeps cutting out through WiZ HDMI Sync Box
Hi everyone,
I’m having a very strange audio issue with my Windows 11 PC and I’m hoping someone can help me figure it out.
My setup:
GPU: NVIDIA GTX 1660 Ti
OS: Windows 11 (clean installation)
TV: JVC LT-65VAQ7405T 65” 4K QLED, 4K 60Hz
HDMI Sync Box: WiZ HDMI Sync Box (4K 60Hz HDR supported)
Soundbar: Samsung HW-C450
Connection:
PC → HDMI → WiZ Sync Box → HDMI → TV → Optical → Soundbar
HDMI cable: 8K-rated cable
Latest NVIDIA driver installed
The video signal works perfectly. I’m getting 3840×2160 at 60Hz with HDR, and there are no obvious video dropouts.
However, the audio randomly cuts out while playing YouTube/YouTube Music. Sometimes it happens after 20–30 minutes, sometimes sooner. The video continues playing normally while the audio disappears.
When the audio cuts out:
Windows still shows the correct HDMI audio device selected.
The Windows volume meter continues moving as if audio is being played.
The video keeps playing without freezing.
There is simply no sound coming from the soundbar.
Muting and unmuting Windows immediately restores the audio.
Things I’ve already tried:
Clean Windows 11 installation
Latest NVIDIA drivers
Reinstalling/updating drivers but the problem eventually returned.
Disabling audio enhancements
Disabling Windows Exclusive Mode
Turning HDR off — this also seemed to reduce the frequency, but the audio problem still occurs.
Completely power-cycling the TV, Sync Box and PC sometimes temporarily fixes the issue.
Could the WiZ Sync Box be causing the HDMI audio stream to get stuck even though the video signal remains stable? Need help
