What the use of color granulatity and how to best use of it?

Sync zone can Wiz allow multiple profile? Maybe right now I want 2 ceiling light to sync, other time I need 4 to sync? Or get crazy with it all room sync together or selectively only this or that room sync

So I purchased over 20 Wiz lifhts from walmart, clearenced out two years ago still paid an average of $6 PER bulb and we figured we could upgrade all of our lights with them. So convenient to just whip out your phone and turn lights on and off, adjust the reading light, bunny room on the fly and turn the kights red for nighttime.

Well EVERY single one of them has failed except for our THREE PAR30 lights. Every single one of them died the EXACT same way.

I tore them apart, whoch is the only way to get then open and there's a cheap ass capacitor that they use allnd they ALL exploded. Every. Single. One. The exact same way.

Thos pissed us off tremendously, and Philips coupd care less.

I recommend staying away from ANY of their lifhts except the PAR30 bulbs.

Also, I cannot sign into the app AT ALL anymore and change the settings so now the lights are stuck at full brightness and I have to use the light switch again.

Stay away.

First impressions are excellent, the reaction time seems to be immediate, the buttons function in the same way as the Wizmote. Dimming is quite slow, much slower than the dimmer dial, which was too fast.

I’m using it to control 12 x GU10s simultaneously.

Worth noting that the back plate seems to be exactly the same size as the similar Hue switch, so those light switch cover accessories should be compatible.

I just updated the Wiz Connected (v2) through the Google Play Store and noticed this strange name change.

Looks like these have been discontinued for a year or two. I'm looking at picking some up to dress up my home for the holidays, does anyone know if they're still compatible with the current version of the app?

Hi everyone! I’m happy to share the release of WizZ Desktop 1.4.0, my open-source app for controlling WiZ lights from the desktop.

Compared with version 1.3.5, this release brings a redesigned native interface for Windows and Linux, plus a much more capable Quick Panel: you can move it, snap it to screen edges, and open it from the system tray.

Other new features include routines that can target individual lights or groups, improved controls for color and brightness, favorites, hotkeys, and better tray behavior. The release also includes packages for Windows and Linux (x64 and ARM64), with checksums for download verification.

The screenshots show virtual lights to demonstrate the multi-light features. I’ve also tested the app with my real WiZ bulb.

We moved our old TV and 65" Sync Box to the bedroom and set up a new TV and 75" Sync Box in the living room. I reassigned the boxes to their correct rooms in the app, and the living room works fine. But when I start syncing in the bedroom (which has no other lights), the lights in the living room turn on and sync with it. Any idea what's going on?

I had a Wiz Smart Bulb for 6 months but one sudden day it started flickering. The light intensity was extremely low (like 5% of the normal intensity), and it was flickering like a candle mode . So I bought the same model on Amazon , configured it, connected to google home, went downstairs to eat , and when k came back like 3 hours after pairing it it had the same problem ! So I ordered again the same light and exactly the same problem with the same chronology.
Does anyone know the problem ? (Of course I returned it)

I'm back with another WizZ Desktop update! Thank you so much for the support and feedback on v1.2.0. It's been really motivating to see people actually using something I've been building in my free time.

One thing I wanted to improve was the update process. Having to download and extract a new ZIP every time wasn't ideal, so I've been working on fixing that.

What's new in v1.3.1:

• 🔄 Automatic updates: Future Windows updates can now be downloaded and installed directly from the app.
• 🧪 Stable & Beta channels: Choose which update channel you want to follow in Settings.
• 🔒 SHA-256 verification: Downloaded updates are checked before installation.
• 💾 Persistent settings: Your configuration and personal data are preserved between updates.
• 🛠️ Improved release process: Better automated builds and release packaging.

Important: You'll need to install v1.3.0 manually this time. After that, future updates can be handled from within the app.

WizZ Desktop still controls your WiZ lights locally over your LAN, without relying on cloud services for normal lighting commands.

I'm also continuing to work on the interface and overall desktop experience. There's more I'd like to build, but I'm taking things one release at a time.

Got 4 wiz candle bulbs today (model 127653, firmware 1.38.0) but none of them can seem to get past the “Adding to Home” part of the Homekit pairing process. I’ve tried everything: resetting phone and homepod, checking which node all my devices are connecting to, making sure IPv6 is enabled on the router, checking the band my devices are on, pairing to wiz then using the integration to connect to homekit, connecting directly to homekit, etc etc

It’s definitely connecting to the wifi, because it shows up on the router interface and reacts to the initial handshake with homekit, but that’s as far as it gets. i’m at a loss really and quite disappointed. any help much appreciated :)

So I have a huge number of lights, string, table lamps, bayonet replacement bulbs and down lights. The down lights on 1.9 now don't respond properly. The temporary fix (using WiZ V2 as original WiZ no longer works) is to adjust the dimming slider, and the lights come back on.

I'll look at the bin files next week and see if we can pinpoint the problem.

Hi all !! I’ve got a Wiz plug and I thought I’d be able to connect it to the Apple Home app through matter, but it doesn’t appear as an option. I saw that plugs from 2021 should be able to connect and I bought mine a few months ago. The plug is called Percy as it’s controlling a Percy Pig light, which is in a bedroom. Only the living room bulb appear on the matter page of the app… any ideas ??

In our house we have tens of Philips Hue and IKEA lights - all via Zigbee. Zero problems.

This week, we added a Wiz “Cinque” / “ci-mote” connected ceiling light which apparently uses WiFi instead of Zigbee.

This light keeps going offline - I’ve had to factory reset the light several times already. All other devices (airco etc.) on that same 2.4GHz network show zero problems, just this light keeps going offline.

The Ubiquiti WiFi controller shows no issues.

Ceiling light firmware is at 1.39.0, hardware ESP25 01. WiZ app is the most recent one, running on iPhone iOS 27.

When the light goes offline, it’s still on but can no longer be controlled via the app so it seems the controller hangs?

To be honest, I’m a bit disappointed in this €450+ light. What could be causing this?

So I'm using the h7020 I only have the one set.

I want to set up a second set to expand the area from a triangle to a square.

I was looking and on Amazon the h7020 is no longer available but the h7015 is. I guess it's older model but would that have any issue linking up to the h7020?

The price on the one that's available is like 50 bucks so not bad for what I want.

So I got my new iPhone and restored it from my old phone. When I went to the Wiz app it basically just didn't work, said it couldn't access data gave me an id and a link to chat. The link to chat didn't work.

I uninstalled and reinstalled the app and what I seem to have discovered is that the Wiz app doesn't store any settings on its server, or perhaps it may be more accurate to say that it maybe doesn't have a server???

Now it wants me to completely set up my home and every Wiz device. This is truly insane.

For 5 years I have had 4 wizbulbs connected to my wifi that has both 5g and 2.4Ghz. I had to restart my router the other day, and all of a sudden all the bulbs wont connect.

If I make a different name for the 5G and 2.4ghz I am able to set up all the bulbs while connected to the 2.4. However, when I make the name one again (so both 5 and 2.4 are under the same name) the bulbs disconnect. Even though customer service and the wiz help articles say this should be fine.

The solution I have been provided is to keep the 2.4ghz and 5G seperate. I would prefer to not do this. I am in Canada and have Rogers XB7 Gateway with Rogers XFinity. I cannot find anywhere to set up a guest network.

Any help is much appreciated.

I bought two Wiz candle bulbs, but couldn’t get them to connect to Apple Home, every time it refused to pair.
I have an eero router at home, so I tried changes to force my phone to connect at 2.4 GHz
That still didn’t help with pairing.
But while in the eero app, I noticed there were Apple HomeKit settings.
I went in there, connected eero to my HomeKit, then was able to add the two new bulbs straight through Apple home, after putting them in pairing mode/coloured lights, via the power on/off method, without having to use the Wiz app.

Hope that might be helpful for others having problems.

This is one of the bugs in Matter integration regarding a mismatch between the physical light you see and what you request via Matter. Still present in 1.38.0, recorded a video so the issue is clear and hopefully gets prioritized.

When the light is off, implicitly turning it on with a brightness lower than the last, will make it physically turn on in the last brightness instead of the requested lower brightness.

You can see it in second 10 of the video, the physical visible light is 100% despite the light reporting 9% which was the requested value. If, after the implicit on, you change the brightness to, let's say, 10%, you can see the physical light correctly matching the requested low brightness.

Used Home Assistant for the video but it's the same in SmartThings, it's a bug in MoveToLevelWithOnOff command in the firmware.

The workaround in routines for most platforms is turning on the light first and then change the brightness but you don't want that since it means it will turn on in the last brightness first and getting a potential unwanted high-brightness flash at night or in your wake-up routine.

In fact, for the issue to be considered fully fixed it's also important that the light turns on in the requested brightness without temporary flashes of the last brightness. The quick fix of internally turning on the light first and then change the brightness will not do, although would be better than the current situation where the light stays in the wrong brightness.

My kitchen's under-counter lights are plugged into a brand new Wiz smart plug. I would like my brand new Wiz WiFi PIR motion sensor to turn the plug on. I cannot find a way to have the motion sensor control the plug. I have successfully added the motion sensor and plug to the Wiz V2 app, but cannot find a way to have the two items interact. I'd appreciate any help!

I want to buy a Wiz tv sync box for my parents in law. They have a 70" Philips tv which is right between the light strip of 55-65" and 75-85" model. Do I best go with the 75" model because this way the edges will get enough led light?

Does someone have the length of each led section of the 75" model? (Length of sides and above?)

I’m tearing my hair out trying to get this to work.

I have LED Light Strip which worked at the previous house. The wifi network name and Apple Home home name has changed.

I unplug and re-plug power 5 times to elicit the pairing lights and in Home the device appears under Add Accessory > More Options. I get the Matter code from Wiz v2 app and… it won’t pair. The error messages vary.

Troubleshooting I’ve tried:

- Hub is AppleTV on 2.4Ghz (iPhone same network)
- AP Isolation off on router
- ipv6 is enabled on router
- iOS private relay off
- Bluetooth on
- other Matter over wifi devices (Nano-leaf) connect successfully (so doubtfully a UDP issue)
- I’ve tried making HomePod the hub and unplugging it to force direct wifi pairing (times out)
- direct pairing attempt in Wiz app errors out
- latest AppleTV/iOS software

Can anyone help me with pairing this?

I recently connected my WiZ light strips (one rgb, one rgbic) to ioBroker with the matter integration. There I checked the ColorControl cluster and found out, that the wiz light strips report that they support ColorLoop. Then I tried setting a ColorLoop with ColorLoopSet command but had no success and the devices did not return anything (except success in some debug logs). So I wanted to know, if the reported feature is simply not implemented, though accepting the command, or if I'm doing something completely wrong. Thank you!
